His wife nodded. "It's alright. I understand."
He took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. "It's been happening a lot lately."
"Hasn't it?" His wife said,.
"For a few days."
"What do you mean?"
"My father died because he tried to stop someone from attacking him."
"Was he?"
James shook his head. "He tried to help him. He saw how much pain that person was in." He paused for a moment. "He didn't deserve to die that way."
"And who did deserve it?"
James shook his head. "Nobody deserves that kind of death. Nobody does, but he was in pain, and he didn't deserve that."
His wife reached out and touched his shoulder.
"You're going through a hard time right now," she said. "Just don't give up. Don't lose hope. You will make it through this."
James sighed. "I know; I've seen the way things have been working out."
"Have you told anyone else about this?"
"Only you."
"Not even people at work?"
