"Just be careful."
He sprinted towards Ronk. The monster roared as he approached. His muscles bulged. He lifted his feet high and kicked Darin in the stomach.
Darin fell backward onto the pavement. He rolled over and tried to get back up. He couldn't feel any pain in his stomach anymore, but he knew it would come later. He glanced up and saw Ronk standing over him.
Then he saw Lilia running at the monster. She raised her pistol. She remembered what happened in the dream. If she didn't step up now, Darin might get killed.
Ronk stepped forward and punched Lilia square in the chest, sending her flying backwards. She hit the pavement hard and slid several meters. Her pistol skidded along the pavement after her.
"No..." Darin gasped.
Lilia lay there motionless. Blood pooled beneath her head.
"Damn it!" Darin shouted.
Darin scrambled to get up. He heard an engine behind him. He looked up and saw a vehicle pulling up.
