"Hi it's Bella right?" Maurice, the blonde girl from yesterday asked as she sat down by my right in human biology.
"Yeah, I didn't know you were in this class." I said, I didn't remember seeing her in the class last week or maybe I just wasn't paying attention to other students in the class.
"I just began this week, the paper from yesterday was from Wednesday the day before." She explained.
"Bella‼" Talia shrieked as she ran into the class.
"Slow down, what's got you so excited?" I asked while chuckling at her childish reaction.
"You will never believe what just happened in the hallway, I had just….." She began talking but stopped, she was standing in front of me and had her eyes on the seat on my left or rather the person sitting on it.
"Hey there Talia." Maurice said breaking the silence that had become almost unbearable.
"What are you doing here?" Talia asked, her tone was filled with so much spite even worse than the tone she used with Allen.
Before Maurice could say anything else the lecturer announced his presence in the class and began the lecture for the day. Talia seemed on edge all through the class, I was certain something was wrong especially when she left the class halfway through in a haste without saying a word and didn't come back.
"How do you know Talia?" I asked the minute we stepped out of class.
"We are friends and from the same home town." She replied with a sweet smile that told me there was so much more that she wasn't telling me but it was either that I didn't care or I just didn't want to get involved in anyone's life.
"Alright." I said and kept walking towards my next class.
" What's your next class?" she asked.
" English." I replied.
"Alright, see you later then." She waved then went the other way.
I nodded and went to the cafeteria to grab a quick snack before heading to class. I usually attended the class with Talia but I hadn't seen her anywhere since she left human biology class earlier. The next class wasn't really fun and the fact that I was worried about Talia wasn't helping either.
"You seem distracted what's on your mind?" I heard Maurice say bringing me out of my thoughts.
"Huh? What are you doing here?" I whispered to avoid drawing the lecturer's attention to us.
"My class ended." She shrugged like that was meant to explain why she was here.
I sighed and ignored her, Talia was no where to be seen and it had something to do with her, I was sure of it. Apparently she either didn't get the hint or she just refused to cause she kept trying to make me talk and for some reason the lecturer didn't complain about it or rather he didn't seem to notice that we were in the room.
"Can you let me be for like five minutes?" I finally snapped after she had asked me a question for the umpteenth time. "You might be done with your class but I'm not and your questions are making it hard to hear a thing from the lecturer." I said and turned around to see the whole class looking at me including the lecturer. Like come on they didn't notice when Maurice was bugging me and now their all looking at me?
"I'm sorry." I said before the lecturer could say anything.
"We can resume the class now if that's okay with miss Andrews." He said still giving a curt remark.
I caught Maurice snicker from the side of my eye before I was able to focus on the lecture.
The day ended without Talia showing up, Maurice managed to pester me enough to get my number before leaving school. Dad came to pick me by three pm after picking George.
Mom woke me up by eight am on Saturday morning to say they were heading out for a picnic with George and Debbie and I should be sure to stay in the house or my verdict will be increased to two more weeks. It was meant to be a long and boring day but Maurice found a way to make it more fun by sending funny notes through the house keeper, at first I wasn't into it but then it got funnier, one of them said something about my parents being unfair to me then she began sending some with funny drawings.
The next day being Sunday mom and dad left me at home alone again, they went to the Edward's place with George and Debbie. According to dad they would be going to the movies on a family trip with them. The house keeper didn't come on Sundays so I was alone at home.
I lay down on the bed still in my PJs at about five in the evening while reading a novel when I heard the door open, I didn't think mom and dad would come home that early.
"I am so glad your grounded, I wish you'd be grounded for life." George chirped as he slammed open my room door.
"Yeah yeah, you hate me I hate you too boo hoo." I replied nonchalantly then he scoffed and left the room.
I went down after a while to get something to eat cause I was hungry and mom didn't seem to be cooking up anything which was both a good thing and a bad thing.
"what do you think your doing?" Mom asked as she saw me step out of the kitchen with a bowl of cereal and a box of milk.
"Satisfying my hunger thanks for asking." I said in a disrespectful tone.
Mom's face almost shone red as she got ready to give me a piece of her mind but a knock on the door stopped her.
Mom and dad asked if the other was expecting anyone at the same time while George went to check who was at the door.
"Chris!" He exclaimed in excitement.
"just great." I muttered under my breath and began going upstairs. I heard George tell Chris to come in when I was half way up the stairs and wondered why he wasted time to come in but ignored the thought.
I closed my door and began eating my cereal while finishing the book I was reading earlier. After I was done with the cereal I took a quick shower, put on a new set of PJs then lay on my bed to take a nap.
"Can I come in?" I heard a voice ask at about 11pm.
I sprung up from my bed to see Chris inside my room by the door.
"Your already in." I said in an annoyed tone.
There was a particular difference about the guy standing at my door, he looked like Chris and I was almost a hundred percent sure it was Chris but he looked way too pale, not so pale that he'd look dead but the Chris I knew was perfectly tanned, his hair was a brownish blonde instead of the usual golden brown and it was either my eyes were not fully awake or this was a dream but he looked about six inches taller.
"Feisty much." He chuckled and moved to the edge of the bed and sat there which made me to move closer to the other end of the bed.
"What are you doing here?" I asked looking at him wearily.
"Is it that terrible to want to see you?" He said with a look that said he was hurt. Now I was sure I was definitely dreaming.
"Excuse me? do you think I'm stupid enough to believe you?" I asked in annoyance.
"I'm serious I need you to be mine." he said, the look on his face almost made me believe him but then this was Chris, if there's anyone who hated me the most in New Orleans it was Chris so why would I believe him.
"ha ha, very funny, where are the hidden cameras I know this is just a prank and I won't fall for it." I retorted. " You can leave now." I said pointing towards the door.
"But I'm serious." he insisted.
"Leave!!" I said in a more definate tone.
He nodded then left the room,. I know I had said I didn't believe him but that wasn't exactly true, a part of me wondered if what he said was true.
