The new house wasn't exactly what you would call a dream house but it was quite cool. It was painted a light shade of brown with two white pillars, it was a duplex with a room that looked like an attic from the outside though, the roof was a darker shade of brown, in all the outside of the building didn't look so bad. Inside the house was also cool, there were five bedrooms in total, four upstairs and one down, two sitting rooms, one up and one down, the kitchen was quite spacious which mom was elated about.
I asked mom if I could take the room that looked like an attic and she agreed so that's what I did, it wasn't as spacious as other rooms but it was just right for me, I also preferred it cause it was farthest from the other rooms in the house. Dad helped me install a mini sofa next to the window so I could lounge there whenever I felt like. My bed was queen sized with a heart shaped bed frame, it was set in the topmost center of the room right opposite the closet and bathroom, the bathroom had a connecting door to the closet which was more practical and comfortable. I arranged my clothes in the closet then put up posters of my favorite artist and actor, I put the poster of Ariana Grande on the left side of my bedpost and that of Eddie Murphy on the ceiling above my bed, and that was it for my room.
I left the room to check if the refrigerator had been installed so I could get a snack. I took a quick peak at George's room on my way down. The walls were painted a light shade of blue, a few pictures of him on his past birthdays were hung on the wall like a hall of fame or something, there was a television set up with a game console and a rack of games, it could easily be described as a typical boy's room. Debbie's room was no different well asides from the fact that it was a typical baby girl's room though, it had a crib in the middle of the room and so many pictures of Debbie, like what the fudge, if I saw that much of myself everyday I'd be as freaked out as anyone can possibly be. I ignored everyone's arrangement and went down to get my snack then went up to my room to get some sleep it had been a really long day.
"Bella wake up!!" George yelled in my face at six in the morning which was really annoying cause I was definitely not a morning person.
I rolled over totally ignoring him, he kept yelling then I put my pillow over my ears to block out his voice but he began to poke me, after so many attempts and he still didn't give up I finally sat up and gave him the meanest look I could muster.
"what do you want?" I asked in anger, George knew how much I cherished my sleep so how dare he?
"Mom said you should come down the new neighbors will be here by half past seven for breakfast." He explained with an irritated look, probably cause I took so long to wake up.
"what does that have to do with me?" I asked much more annoyed right now.
"Same thing I asked," George scoffed. "we're already a family without you." He mumbled as he walked out of my room.
'ugh I hate his guts'
I tossed around for a few more minutes before I finally got up to prepare, as much as I wanted to go against mom, I knew it wasn't an option, I really didn't want to get grounded on my first day in this place. I washed my mouth, brushed my hair then picked the first combo of outfit I saw in my closet and put on. It was a black short with a light blue tank top, it was still early summer so I didn't have to worry about frost bite or anything of the sort.
"finally decided to grace us with your most gracious self?" George threw at me the moment I got to the table. Sometimes I really felt like cutting off his vocal cords so he won't be able to speak anymore, yeah I had thoughts like that, but no one can blame me the boy pissed me off a lot.
"yeah you should be honored". I replied.
"ah of course I am PRINCESS" he shot back.
"you could make it more obvious by throwing in a curtsy with that you know."
"Yes PRINCESS, this loyal….."
"will you shut it you two?" dad snapped.
I scoffed then sat on the farthest seat from George, which was just two seats away though but it was way better than nothing. In less than five minutes the neighbors arrived, we exchanged pleasantries and introductions before we sat together at the table then mom began to serve breakfast.
The Edwards, our new neighbors, had three children as well, two girls and a boy. The boy's name was Chris, he was about 5ft9inches tall, from what his parents said I deduced that he was about two years older than I and was in his third year studying pre-law in the same university I would be attending. The two girls were twins, it wasn't too hard to figure out considering they were identical, they introduced themselves as Dora and Darcy but I still couldn't figure out who was who. They were also going to begin attending the same university as well, we were all going to begin next week, but unlike me they already knew their way around the school since they always hangout with their brother in school.
After breakfast mom sent us upstairs with the Edwards kids while they socialized with their parents. George pulled Chris to his room all excited about showing Chris his collection of games and stuff leaving me with the twins. The twins followed me into my room silently, they sat on the mattress while I sat by the window, we were all watching each other in silence. The girls tried to bring up conversations by asking where I was from and how my high school was but I gave them one word replies so they ended up going silent again. The problem wasn't that I was antisocial but rather I was annoyed that I was woken up from my sleep just to meet them, like couldn't they come at dinner time or even lunch was fine but they just had to interrupt my beauty sleep which, if it wasn't obvious yet, I didn't appreciate one bit.
"OH MY GOSH IS THAT THE LATEST POSTER OF ARIANA GRANDE!!!" One of the twins exclaimed in a rather loud voice almost shouting.
"Come on she isn't that big of a deal why are you so hyped up?" The other said not in the least bit interested in the poster.
"Of course she is, she's the best singer out there." The first twin said trying to defend her exaggerated expression on the poster.
"That's so not true," The other shot back, "Beyonce is a much better singer." She said.
And just like that the twins I was forced to socialize with began to argue back and forth of who is a better singer. Like I wasn't too annoyed with their arrival already, they just had to make me even more pissed off. My phone suddenly rang diverting my attention from the twins argument.
"Hello, Bella speaking." I said into the phone.
"Hey Bel." I heard Jenny's voice on the other side.
"Jenny!!" I shrieked.
"How you doing, you seem quite occupied." She chuckled, probably referring to the twins voices.
"not really." I shrugged. "can you hold for a sec let me leave the room."
"sure no prob."
I stood up and began to head towards the door since the twins were still arguing over who's the best singer.
"Hey where are you going?" The first twin asked as I turned the door knob.
"I want to take this call, the noise is much." I said pointing the phone in my hand.
"Oh sorry about the noise, we'll keep it down."
"No we won't, not until you accept that Beyonce is the better singer." The other retorted. " sorry Bella but this argument is far from over." She said officially ushering me out of my own room.
I left before they could find a way to start an argument about me leaving the room as well.
"Hey jenny sorry about the hold."
"no prob so what was that all about."
"ugh, some neighbors that came over."
"That's cool, seems like you've made some new friends."
"friends? Definitely not mine, those twins are crazy."
"come on don't say that, they can't be that bad."
"considering the fact that they just kicked me out of my room to argue about which of their favorite singers is better, their definitely that bad."
"you've got to try and make some friends you know."
"I know but it's not going to be the crazy twins in my room."
"Fine, that will have to do, anyway I've got to go call you later."
"Alright no problem bye."
"Crazy twins huh?" I heard behind me the moment the Jenny hung up.
