"I asked if my coming here was okay" Fay recalled her question back when they were at the restaurant. She was worried his mother, the mistress didn't want her here
It made her feel odd, especially the intensive stare she felt as she walked up the stairs with Joshua.
"And what did I say?" He asked
"You said yes but your mother—"
"She's just overreacting".
Fay didn't like that at all, what if Mr Joshua's mother stops her from seeing mirabelle, she doesn't want that.. Fay looked left, she hadn't noticed the gigantic chandelier hanging from the ceiling.
She only glanced and walked along.
She felt bad, uninvited, embarrassed. Why didn't he just inform his family she would be coming instead of all that just now. His mother seemed irritated by her very presence.
Absentmindedly, she held her arm, still feeling flustered.
