She has always considered herself a hybrid seeing as her mom was African American and her dad was American. Her skin, radiant and smooth, she wasn't all black or all white but a mixture of both; milk chocolate.
Beep, beep beep beep, the sound of the alarm went off again which means it has been 10minutes already since it last rang. The quick strong and loud sound it made startled fay and angrily she turned it off before it could snooze itself again.
She headed to the kitchen, put on an apron and began making her breakfast
Fruits and oat meal. After slicing the fruits and preserving them In the refrigerator, she started making the oats.
Bang! Her body froze up as she heard a loud hit on the door. She calmed herself down and didn't make any sudden movements just in case it was all in her head.
After hearing nothing she breathe although still in shock she decided to carry on cooking but the sound came again but a little louder this time
Bang! Bang! She began to think; It couldn't have been the land owner since she paid a 6month advance so who could it be by this time.
She walked slowly and cautiously to the door , picking up an umbrella on the way.
She didn't have any windows close to the door and the door also had no window she could peep through to see who it was so she'll just have to act immediately after opening it.
Her hand quivered as she reached out to the door nob
"Baaaaabe...." She heard outside, it was meg.
Fay stood there unbelievably, she gazed at the door pondering whether to open it up or follow the back door to work.
She dropped the umbrella.
After much contemplation, fay twisted the door knob and like a human water fountain, meg fell into her arms.
"Baby" she whispered.
Fay sighed and looked at the front yard, meg's very expensive bike was nowhere to be seen; that would explain why she came around now, her usual time should have been 2-3hrs ago.
"Seems like we'll never see that bike again" fay softly said. Meg must have heard her cause she answered immediately
"No, no there's was...*hiccup* there was this guy..errm he said he'll.... he'll *hiccup* he'll borrow it but he'll bring it back". At this point, fay could only shake her head sadly, it seemed like someone used her vulnerable state and stole her bike. She'll definitely kick up a fuss later In the day.
Sensing that fay may not believe her, she folded her sleeve up, "I'm not lying see, we even made a contract " she said point at her arm
Fay looked at the roughly signed signature and sighed, it wasnt neat but she could see the words Stephen there.
She dragged meg to the couch and laid her there. Meg's tense body relaxed immediately after contact with the couch.
"I told you not to wait up for me" meg murmured as she tried to fight the dizzy spells of slumber
"I didn't meg it's dawn already. I'm getting prepared for work" fay said with indifference.
She hated seeing meg like this, she wasn't sure about being in love with her but she knew she cared about her a lot.
"I think diner is going to get burnt" meg said in a daze and fay quickly got up and headed to the kitchen, it was the oat meal burning on the lit stove. She turned the stove off, placed the pan in the sink and sighed
She managed to take out the part that had not been burnt and set in a dish for eating.
Minutes later after she had had her breakfast she went upstairs and came down with a comfortable blanket in hand
She walked over to the peacefully sleeping meg, squatted and gently spread the blanket on her to keep her warm. Watching her pretty sleeping face, fay was forced to place a kiss on her forehead.
As she got up, she felt a tug on the trousers, it was meg
"Stay with me" she pleaded, so she wasn't asleep after all
"I can't " fay replied with a look of worry.
"Please just this time" meg pleaded even more but fay couldn't bring herself to agree to that. She shook her head
"Unlike you meg I've got an important job and I still have to pay for bills and stuff. You don't contribute to any of that, at least not with your habit of drinking late at night, we've lost a great asset because of your careless this time. I wish you'd make more time for me too"
By the time fay was done talking, meg had long gone drifted to sleep. Fay headed out the door.
Getting to her work place, saint Paul's general hospital right here in the beloved serenade city. she sat in her usual place and began staring into nothing; thinking.
"Good morning miss" the most pure and innocent sound startled fay out of her own mind.
She looked to her right and her eyes widened in surprise
"You...."
