The combined forces of Blackwood and Coleridge had pushed the vampire army back, back towards the imposing black silhouette of Queen Seraphina's palace. Yet, the vampires still held a numerical advantage, their fangs glinting like cruel promises in the dying light.
Ethan, feeling the primal surge building within him, glanced at his fellow Coleridge soldiers. A silent understanding passed between them.
His eyes blazing with an unnatural light, stood at the forefront of the Coleridge charge. The time for hesitation was over.
