The roar of the battle faded as Seraphina snatched Ethan from the fray. In a blur of motion, she yanked him through a hidden passage within the palace walls. He emerged into a sterile chamber, its gleaming walls and absence of decoration lending a chilling air. A single long table dominated the center, a cruel spotlight focused upon it.
Even in his weakened state, Ethan recognized the trap. A low growl rumbled in his chest as Seraphina, her crimson dress swirling around her like a hungry vortex, tossed him onto the table with practiced ease.
