I untied the men and we cleared the place out, after which I exchanged contact info with their leader.
We made sure not to leave any traces behind and I carried Noelle on my back and we left the warehouse.
The men went in a separate direction from me and I walked to the bus stop in hopes of finding a cab, it was very early in the morning, around 4AM.
I waited for about 10 minutes before finding one and I entered it with a little trouble, as I was carrying Noelle, who remained unconscious.
She appeared to be sleeping so I didn't encounter much trouble from the cab man anyway.
"Where to sir?" The cab man said as he raised his hat up.
"The Great Globe Hotel" I said.
"Alright buckle up" he said and we were on our way.
On the way I thought about the events of the past few days, my story had been unfolding into a very intriguing plot.
My connections had expanded once again and I felt a sense of pride, my empire was slowly being built.
In the background I was actively making money from stocks and even though spit coins wouldn't be ready for a while, when it would be finally developed it would be worth it and it would be in my name.
All I could do right now was wait, Satoshi was very diligent in his work, I offered to hire a team of experts to support him but he said he would be fine for now, time would tell.
After a short while we finally arrived at the hotel. I paid the cab driver and once again I got Noelle on my back and entered the hotel which was always open.
To avoid any attention as to why I was carrying a girl on my back I pretended to be drunk staggering left and right.
The receptionist noticed this and quickly rushed to my side with a key.
There was always a room available for important people, and the Darhk's were no exception.
"Thank you" I simply said and I pretended to stagger all the way until I got to the elevator.
Thankfully there weren't a lot of people at that time so I didn't encounter much trouble.
We finally got to the room and I placed Noelle on the bed. I was drained, so I took a shower and sat on the chair beside the bed and I let myself fall asleep for a while.
I woke up earlier than her the next morning, she'd been asleep for too long I was going to wake her up soon.
I heard a ring on the door bell and went to open the door, it was housekeeping.
"Good morning Mr Damon, breakfast?" Said the young lady respectfully.
"That would be nice, thank you, come on in" I said.
She nodded and pushed the food cart into the room, placing it at a corner.
"Would you like anything else sir?" She asked.
"A change of clothes for me and her would be nice" I said as I pointed to Noelle on the bed who seemed to be waking up.
"Right away sir" she said and bowed her head before leaving the room.
Noelle was beginning to wake up and I went to her side. She looked so tired, she'd been through a lot over the past few days, she needed the rest.
As her eyes opened she stared up at the ceiling for a while before sitting up on the bed.
She turned to her right and saw me, and then she jumped out of bed and rushed to my side. She was panicking, tears in her eyes.
"Damon! What happened?" She said, looking at me with expectant eyes.
"Calm down Noelle, everything's fine, you're safe now, you're in a hotel owned by my family, The Great Globe hotel. Give me a chance to explain everything okay?" I said and she nodded in agreement.
'I can't tell her the truth, I'll have to find something else to tell her.' I thought. She sat on the bed as I began to speak.
"So I'll explain how it all happened to you. When I got back from jogging that day I noticed the door was open and I immediately knew something was wrong. I ran into the house and searched for a while but found no traces of you. I searched again and found a note from the kidnappers saying they'd taken you and that I should await instructions.
They warned me clearly not to call the police and so I couldn't go to them and I waited patiently until they finally called the next day." I was about to continue but then she spoke.
"Wait, how long has it been since I was taken?" She said her eyes widening as she wiped the tears from them.
"It's been about 2 days," I said calmly. "Can I keep speaking" I asked with a sense of compassion, I was being as patient as I was with her.
She simply nodded in agreement and I continued.
"They called and told me the location where they had been keeping you captive and told me to come alone. I decided against it but I couldn't go to the police, so I decided to use my influence as a Darhk to my advantage.
We have…connections and I hired one of my fathers contacts to rescue you. They were hitmen. I don't know exactly what happened ,but what I do know is that they said they took the bad guys out and gave an anonymous tip to the police after which they rescued you and brought you back here. That was how it all happened."
She took the information much easier than I expected and didn't seem to act too surprised.
I was surprised and happy at the level of maturity she displayed, it made things easier.
"So what happens now?" She simply said.
"Now, you go home and speak to your parents, I took the liberty of charging your phone for you, you should call and speak to them." I said.
She nodded and I handed the phone to her and she turned it on. Not to our surprise she had tons of missed calls from her parents.
The housekeeper brought a new pair of clothes for both of us and she took a shower before getting changed.
"What are you going to say to them?" I asked.
"Don't worry, I'll handle it" she simply said when I asked, the experience seemed to have affected her a lot and I decided not to push too much, she would need time.
When she was finally dressed I escorted her to the front of the hotel and got a cab to take her home.
Before she left I said something to her, as she opened the cab door and was about to enter, I spoke.
"Noelle, let's not see each other for a while after this. Being around me puts you in danger and it's only going to get worse from here. I'll contact you after the exams." I simply said, a pale expression on my face.
I turned to walk away, not waiting for a response, this was what I had to do to protect her and she was honestly a distraction.
With her out of the picture, I could finally focus again and I began to make plans as I headed back to my hotel room.
