Chapter 135 - Chapter 135: Broken Vows

[Third Person's PoV]

After their introduction, Lucian showed Percy where he would be staying. "That place right there is the dorm for children that haven't been claimed yet, and where you would be staying."

"Is it possible to never even be claimed?" Percy asked anxiously.

"The possibility is there," Lucian shrugged.

"I see..."

After they showed Percy his room and he put away his stuff, they took him to the training grounds of the camp. They then began showing him around the different training grounds for the different activities.

"Have you thought about what weapon you're going to use?" Luke asked curiously.

"I mean, I've only used this sword before," he said as he reached into his pocket and uncapped his pen, transforming it into a sword. "So I'll probably focus on that."

"Lame," Lucian rolled his eyes.

"You're only saying that because you're not the best swordsman here," Luke said with a confident smirk.

"You might be a better swordsman than I am, but you're not the one who's better with his weapon."

'Well of course I'm a better swordsman,' Luke thought to himself. 'I'd have to be. After all, I only received one ability from that swordsman potion apart from having the previous ones boosted.

Enhanced Swordsmanship: This ability grants the swordsman significantly improved proficiency with bladed weapons, allowing for expert-level sword techniques and maneuvers. This includes heightened precision, speed, and strength in sword strikes, making them a formidable opponent in close combat.'

Percy simply capped his sword and looked at Lucian in confusion. "What weapon do you use then?"

Lucian stepped back and lifted his hand, caressing his ring. "I'm so glad you asked. I use multiple weapons actually, but if I had to pick my main weapon, it would be this."

Lucian's ring transformed into a scythe, which he began moving and twirling around his body. The scythe then began moving faster and faster until it started looking like a blur as the wind started to pick up due to the force.

There was a gust of wind as Lucian ended it by pointing it at them with a smirk. When he opened his mouth to say something, he heard Annabeth mutter, "Consider your soul reaped," in a mocking tone.

Thalia immediately covered her mouth and turned her body to stop herself from laughing too loud. Lucian just felt his eyebrows twitch. He gave her a look and chose to ignore her as he transformed his scythe back into his ring.

"A scythe?" Percy said, looking at him weirdly. "What—is your dad Hades or something?" Just then, the sound of the earth rumbling was heard.

Lucian's eyes glowed bright red as he opened his mouth, revealing his fangs. "What do you think?" Lucian teased as black smoke was released from his body slightly.

"We told you to be careful in mentioning a god by name," Grover said wearily. "Especially his name. He could, at any point in time, open up these very floors and swallow you whole."

Percy gulped slightly. "Right, sorry. I'm still not used to it. So, since you're like his son, does that mean you're evil or something?"

The smile on Lucian's face slowly dropped. "I should turn you into a frog for that comment, but I know how ignorant people can be, not to mention you're new here. No, I'm not evil," Lucian said, rolling his eyes.

"That came out mean. I didn't mean it like that," Percy said apologetically.

"Whatever, dude. Anyways, since you want to focus on the sword, Luke should be your go-to guy. If you want to focus on any other weapon, then you should come to me. And if I were you, I would start practicing right away."

"Huh?" Percy said, tilting his head in confusion.

"Tomorrow's Friday," Lucian reminded him.

"Ah, I see. So I'm going to be part of the war games tomorrow?" he asked.

"Yes and after all, you're going to be on my team tomorrow. I don't want you embarrassing me."

"Woah, woah, woah," Thalia intervened. "And who decided that? The new kid is obviously going to our team. He might be the final piece we needed to finally beat you."

"Oh, babes, when will you learn that you will never win against me? But still, Percy is coming with me," Lucian said with a smug expression.

"What, are you scared that with Percy on our team we will finally beat you?" Thalia teased, trying to get under his skin.

"No, but since it's Percy's first game, I want him to at least have a win on his record. I mean, who would want to be on the losing team?"

"Huh!? What did you say, you little punk!" Thalia said, grabbing Lucian's shirt with both hands.

"You heard me! No one wants to be on a team that is always destined to lose!" Lucian said, grabbing her by her shirt as well.

"Are they always like that?" Percy asked awkwardly.

"Yup," the others all agreed instantly.

Grover then leaned in. "It's mostly because of their fathers. Both gods have a giant rivalry/dislike towards one another, and it kind of transferred to them a little bit."

"I know now who Lucian's father is, but... Who's her father then?" Percy asked as both Lucian and Thalia jumped away from each other and pulled out their weapons.

Thalia turned into a streak of lightning as Grover said, "The Sky Father himself, the Ruler of Olympus."

Lucian turned into a black wisp of smoke as the sound of their weapons clashing together was heard. They left afterimages due to their speed. All the afterimages had one thing in common: they both had a bloodthirsty smile.

"Do they always get into a fight?" Percy asked in awe as he had never seen anything like what he was witnessing. His eyes and head were moving, trying to keep up.

"Yes, and surprisingly they're dating on top of that…anyways, let's continue with your tour" Annabeth answered.

"Wha–" Percy said surprised.

While Lucian and Thalia continued their sparring session, Luke and the others continued giving Percy a tour of the training room. After which, Percy began taking swordsmanship lessons from Luke.

Later into the night...

Annabeth put on a baseball cap and disappeared from view, which she used to sneak out of the cabins. She went towards Lucian's cabin and snuck her way down to the basement. She froze as she entered, finding Thalia on top of Lucian as they made out. Lucian had his hands on Thalia's waist, while Thalia was holding his cheeks.

They both froze as well, seeing the door open. Annabeth took off her cap and closed the door behind her. She then gave them an aggressive eye roll. "Ugh, I didn't need to see that."

Thalia quickly got off Lucian and slightly wiped her lip with a blush, hiding her smudged black lipstick, while Lucian just stayed lying down with his hands behind his head. "You could have knocked, you know?"

"Anyways!" Annabeth said sassily, changing the topic. "I'm curious, why are you so interested in Percy? You've never shown that much interest in newcomers."

"He had a card of blasphemy on him," Thalia informed her.

"Well, that complicates things," Annabeth muttered. "So what was his thing about?"

"The ocean," both Thalia and Lucian answered.

Annabeth raised a brow. "I see. So his father is the lord of the seas, both of your cousins."

"Yup, but he hasn't been claimed yet, which is why I want him on my team. So when we win, he will get claimed for winning, not for losing," Lucian said with a smirk.

"And who said he won't win if he's on my team?" Thalia asked with a raised brow.

Lucian just pinched her cheek. "That unwavering confidence, even when you know you're going to lose, is very attractive."

Thalia smacked his hand away and blushed. "Shut it, dumbass," Thalia glared.

"Wait," Annabeth interrupted. "Doesn't that mean that all three Greek gods broke their vows?"

"Yup..." Lucian answered.

"Why am I not surprised..." Thalia sighed.
