[Third Person's PoV]
Lucian and Medea both sat back down at the table where the Fates once sat, facing each other.
"So, tell me about your journey. What happened after I was taken to the Underworld?" Medea asked curiously.
"Well, I was in a depressive state for an entire month, lying in bed, not doing much. After that, I decided to go out and go to camp. As soon as I got out, I got attacked by giants. That was fun. I went on a road trip for a couple of months, followed my father's legacy, and—"
"Wait, followed your father's legacy? What legacy is that?"
"Oh, I went to a girl's home and kidnapped her away from her family. Funny enough, she's actually my girlfriend now, which is like really following my father's legacy. That's neat, huh?"
Medea stared at Lucian for a bit before tilting her head in confusion. "Please tell me you're joking?"
"What do you think?" Lucian asked as he leaned back in his chair and looked at her smugly.
Medea couldn't help but put a hand to her forehead and sigh. "You are seriously unbelievable…"
"Sorry, it's my blood. We children of the Underworld follow a simple rule: see pretty girl + take away from family = future bride. It's a win-win scenario."
Medea stared blankly at him, causing Lucian to grow embarrassed.
"In both my father's and my defense, they both wanted to escape from their families… I'll stop talking now…"
Lucian cleared his throat to dispel the embarrassing atmosphere. "Anyways, after the successful abduction, I gave her a bit of survival training. As we continued our journey, we came across two other demigods…"
Lucian then recounted everything that occurred after meeting Luke and Thalia, from witnessing Zeus and his father argue, to being hounded by monsters, to getting to camp and facing an army, etc.
After he was done, Medea stared at Lucian in amazement. "So, let me get this straight: you faced an army of monsters, survived the Thunder God's punishment, became a student of the Goddess of Magic, came back and practically conquered the camp and became their unofficial king, became a child of prophecy, defeated a god in battle, stole the golden apples, bullied a titan to tears, successfully started your path to godhood, survived God's judgment again, making it two times that this has happened, learned that the Fates have some mysterious love for you, built monuments for the gods, got their blessing for said monument, hooked up with the Thunder God's daughter in the same monument you built for him—"
"I wouldn't exactly call it hooking up, more like a little kiss, but eh."
"Lucian, that's not the point. The point is that you already did so much, and that was before you were even a teenager. You haven't even started your teen years. My goodness, when I was your age, I was running around practicing magic and being a princess."
"I know, I know, praise me more, Mother," Lucian said smugly.
"I'm worried for you," Medea said a bit sadly.
"Huh?" Lucian asked, confused by Medea's expression.
Medea sighed as she reached over and started patting his head. "Like I said, you haven't even started your teen years. You are still a child, Lucian. You have gone through a lot. How many more things will you have to go through? I don't doubt things will start becoming increasingly difficult for you, especially towards the path that you are heading. I'm worried that at some point it will be too much and that you will be incredibly hurt… or worse… die."
Lucian held his mother's hands. "I'm sure there is nothing I can say that will keep your worries in check or lessen them, and I won't say that you don't have anything to worry about. I mean, come on, it's me we're talking about. But I can reassure you of this: I will give it everything I have. I will fight my goddamn hardest to keep myself alive and well. If that doesn't reassure you, then look at my achievements. They speak for themselves."
"I know, baby, but as your mother, it is something I will always worry about," Medea said with a loving smile.
To move on from the heavy topic, Medea took a deep breath. "So, tell me, the Fates were pretty adamant about getting my forgiveness…"
"I said it once and I'll say it again, you made me irresistible to women of all ages and sizes."
Medea leaned in and whispered, "So they did all THIS…" She said, moving her hand in a circle around the table, "Just so they would have a husband in the future?"
Lucian leaned in and nudged his elbow towards Medea, "Greeks, am I right?"
"Lucian, we're both Greeks as well."
"..."
"Greek gods, am I right?"
Medea sighed, "By the gods, Lucian… I think I'm getting the full picture. You are mad at them for what they did to me, so you aren't forgiving them. And the way to earn your forgiveness is for me to accept their apology, right?"
"Your forgiveness just earns them neutrality. I wouldn't hate them, but I wouldn't like them either, just neutral. Like strangers. It's a way for them to start over."
"Ah, okay, I see, I see. Look, I'm not saying this to support them, since I'm honestly a bit weirded out, but I'm not really mad at them. I'm a bit glad, honestly."
"You are?"
Medea nodded with a happy smile. "Although I lived a long life, I had the pleasure of experiencing many things, like exploring the world and watching how society developed. It was really interesting. And most importantly… having you." She said as she went and kissed his forehead.
Lucian's ears started turning a bit red as he held his forehead. Medea was leaning forward, her arms crossing each other on the table. "Thanks to them, you came to be, Lucian, which is and will always be one of the greatest blessings the gods have given me."
"It allowed me to start over, to properly raise a child, to atone for my sins of many years ago. You, Lucian, were truly a pleasure to raise. For that, they will always have my thanks."
Lucian slowly looked down, his hand slowly balling into a fist as he bit his lip to stop himself from shedding any tears.
"But although they have my forgiveness and thanks, that doesn't mean I'm going to allow what is going on. Because, first of all, that's weird, like really weird, even for me. I may be a monster, but I have my standards. When you're an adult and you want to have a relationship with them, then fine, go ahead. I wouldn't care since you're an adult. But you're still a child… I swear to the very gods, Lucian, if they do anything weird to you, I will crawl from the Underworld, Hades be damned, and raise hell on Earth."
Lucian chuckled, "Thanks."
Medea looked at him, confused. "Thanks for what?"
Lucian shrugged his shoulders, "For being an amazing mother…"
Medea covered her mouth as she had a touched expression. She stood up and went to hug Lucian. She kissed his cheek and rested her head on top of his.
"I'm only an amazing mother you're an amazing son, my love"
