THE INVINCIBLE GOLDEN SERPENTS
"Damn, the snake women are easier to deal with than their conjured sand. They seem to be almost indestructible, if Sara's spell did nothing to them", I complained to them.
"We should just kill these bloody snakes first, it may stop their conjurations", Sara suggested to us.
"You may try. Even if you kill us, you will not destroy our Golden Serpents", the snake women told us.
The Golden Serpents were powerful conjurations. They were probably stronger than the Higher Apostles or the Archdemons in magic. They also came in great numbers.
"The Golden sand serpents are not conjured by the Lililiths, they are probably beings of the desert. They only respond to their control. We cannot stop them by killing the snake women", Rinna told us her opinion about the sand serpents above us.
"We have marked you with our magic, our Golden Serpents will hunt and kill you no matter where you go in the Golden Desert of Elis even if you killed all of us", a snake women told us.
"The snake women can control beings that are far stronger than them. That is rather odd", Ratatouille told us.
Although the Lililiths weren't too strong, the Golden Serpents that they conjured were deadly.
"These Golden Serpents must have some weaknesses that we can exploit", I asked.
"We don't have time, the sand serpents are circling us like we are their prey", Ratatouille reminded us.
The conjured Sand Serpents encircled us in the air, threatening us with powerful attacks that could kill us in an instant.
Sara thought about it for a nano-second before she came up with a question, "The Shai-hulus escaped from these Lililiths before, how did they do it?"
"I don't know. We can only bring Naraie out to ask but she won't come out in the current situation", Rinna told us about her newest tenant in her soul realm.
"Now, release us before our Golden Serpents would destroy you", the snake women threatened us again.
"Damn you snake women", Ratatouille cursed them.
Suddenly, something came to my mind.
"Do you realize something is odd about these Golden Serpents?" I asked them.
"What about the serpent conjurations? They are powerful magic", Rinna told me.
"Exactly, if they are so powerful, why haven't they struck us yet. They are merely circling above us", I told them.
"These Golden Serpents are real and not illusions if that is what you are implying. My readings are never wrong. These Golden Serpents are Legendary in magic", Sara told me.
"You thought the Shai-hulu's storm was real too", I replied to her.
"The Shai-hulu's storm is real, they are just not as effective as my readings suggest", Sara replied to me.
"Your Condensation spear went right through these serpents like they were never there at all. Even if they are made from tiny sand particles, they shouldn't treat your spell like it was nothing", I told Sara.
Sara thought about the matter for another nano-second.
Suddenly, a large cube made from condensed sand appeared in the sky. Swiftly, Sara's spear struck the large cube, and its sand dispersed and was forced out from the cube as her spear struck through it.
"What the hell are you doing in the middle of battle?" Ratatouille asked us impatiently.
"She is conducting an experiment", I replied to him.
"I have projected the scene of my Condensation Spear through a sand cube as a control. The dispersion of sand is entirely different from how my spear pierced through the Golden Serpents", Sara explained to us.
"I don't understand", Rinna asked us.
"Release us immediately", the Lililiths demanded again.
"Why don't you command your Golden Serpents to attack us for real this time", I replied to the snake women to their shock and horror.
"Don't irritate the snake women, they might actually get the Golden Serpent to attack us", Ratatouille advised me, worried about my aggravating the situation with the snakes.
"Yeah, ask your bloody serpents to attack us now", Sara told the snake women to our surprise again.
"Sara, did you discover the weakness of the Golden Serpents?" Rinna asked her.
"Yes, these Golden Serpents are real, but they are not powerful at all. Just like the powerful storm conjured by the Shai-hulus that appear to be violent and fierce storms although in fact they are not. These are only magical mirages", Sara explained to us.
"How? How did you find out about our Golden Serpents?" the Lililiths asked us, worriedly this time.
This time, we were not worried about the Golden Serpent floating and encircling us above. They were no more than mirages that intimidated and scared more than they were a threat to us.
"These bloody serpents in the desert of Elis could create mirages. The Shai-hulus could create sandstorms while these snake women create the Golden Serpents", I said to them.
"Who is your leader? I want to speak with her", Rinna told the Lililiths.
Then, one of the snake women, came forward.
"I am Ranas, leader of our pack. What do you want with us?" Ranas asked Rinna.
"We came to seek entrance to the Dragons' Sacred Grove. We told you that before earlier", Rinna said to them.
"I have told you before, nobody disturbs our mother", Ranas replied to her.
"Then I'll have to start killing your companions until you speak up", Rinna told Ranas as a holographic serpent was conjured from her.
The holographic serpent struck one of the Lililith's hearts randomly, instantly transforming her into petrified stone.
"No,…" Ranas screamed as one of her kind was killed.
"Wow.. when did your wife became this violent and vicious?" Ratatouille asked me.
"This is the most effective method to make them speak", I replied to him.
"She's been influenced by your bullying tactics too much and is learning fast", he replied to me and smiled.
Rinna wasn't usually merciless in her actions. Her killing of the Lililith shocked me as much as the greedy rat.
Perhaps, I wasn't the only one who changed after obtaining the Dark Angel's soul. Rinna was experiencing something similar after she obtained the Serpent Mother's soul too.
"Damnit, these Unholy Trinity are bad influences", I complained to myself.
