THE SHADOW FROG'S VENGEANCE
All at once, the sky darkened, yet it wasn't the usual dark clouds that cast the ominous shade. No, this darkness bore a different origin, emanating from a singular amphibian.
As if conjured from the very depths of the night, the silhouette of a frog materialized, its edges adorned with glimmering specks of light that outlined its form with an ethereal glow.
It was unmistakably the Shadow Frog.
With an otherworldly grace, the Shadow Frog danced skyward, its presence shrouding the world in an eerie eclipse that captured the attention of all who beheld it.
Ascending steadily, it reached the pinnacle of its ascent, where anticipation hung thick in the air.
Yet, instead of dissipating in a blaze of brilliance as many had expected, the Shadow Frog transformed, melding seamlessly into a peculiar rod suspended in the heavens.
This was the Heliostat, a broken relic of the Conjurer Court's arsenal. As the Heliostat absorbed the mystical essence of the Shadow Frog, it surged to life, unleashing a titanic beam aimed directly at Aggon the Devastating, or what remained of him.
In a dazzling display of power, the beam obliterated the last vestiges of Aggon, erasing his once formidable presence from existence.
Aggon was no longer a harbinger of devastation.
-------
"How did you manage to power the Heliostat?" Conjurer Iras asked me.
"As you promised to me, this rod is mine now", I replied to him as I quickly took the Heliostat Rod from him.
Although it may become useful in some situations, there weren't many ways that I could use my Eclipse of the Shadow Frog in combat. The Heliostat Rod, when combined with my magic, could unleash a powerful and deadly strike against my opponents.
"I still don't understand how you managed to use our broken Heliostat?", he asked again.
"My Shadow Frog conjuration is much like the metal petals on the Heliostat, it accumulates the magic and light from its surroundings with a great pull, but my Shadow Frog doesn't do much. It ends with a show of light by releasing all the magic that it absorbed", I explained to Iras.
"The Shadow Frog's Vengeance"
"How did you get the Shadow Frog to power the Heliostat Rod?" Iras asked me.
"Usually, I couldn't do that. But after I obtained the Mandala Sphere, Orderly magic became available to me. I directed the Shadow Frog's magic to be released into the Heliostat Rod to power it and it complied", I replied to him.
Order magic doesn't enable powerful conjurations or spells much like my Chaos magic. It, however, gives me control over my magic just as my Chaos magic gave me dis-control.
"This kind of control, even the original Supremes may not be able to do", Iras said to me with awe and surprise.
"I've obtained the Conjurer's Inheritance. That is like the magic of the original Supremes", I replied to him.
While we were discussing magic theory, the Shadow Conjurers planned to leave. Without Aggon the Devastating to help them, the shadow conjurers couldn't defeat the might of our armada.
There were only a few of them shadow conjurers left, so continuing to fight was futile.
"We will be back", Grandmaster Morgren said to me before he signaled to his Adept Enforcers.
Soon, the Shadow Conjurers retreated from the Conjurer Court.
"Are we going to let them go?" Iras asked me.
"Let them go, we need to save our people stranded under the ruin of the Conjurer court first", I replied to him.
------
"Damn, if your armada arrived earlier many of us would not perish, Iviar will not die", Anitor shouted to us angrily.
"We don't know the Shadow Conjurers will invade the Conjurer Court at this time. It takes time to organize the armada into action", Asterix replied to him.
"Less of our people would die if you came earlier", Anitor complained again.
"It isn't our armada that destroyed the Shadow conjurers, it was the combination of the Mage of Prolis and the Heliostat that did", Asterix reminded him.
"Forgive Anitor, we are all devastated by Iviar's passing. You have done all you could", Conjurer Iras told me.
"I'm sorry about Iviar. I didn't know the Shadow Conjurer cast a portal into the Conjurer Court by sacrificing Ivior's life. At most I only anticipated for Ivior to summon a powerful monster", I replied to them.
"What is the situation with the Conjurer Court now?" Rinna asked Iras.
"We lost more than four fifths of our members in the battle with the Shadow Conjurers. Most of the Conjurer Court, though, is destroyed in the invasion", Iras replied to her sadly.
"What will happen to the Conjurer Court?" I asked him.
"There isn't enough resource to rebuild the Conjurer court or enough conjurers left, the Master Conjurers have decided. We will disband the Conjurer Court, and the members will have to decide their future on their own", Iras told us.
"We can help you reestablish the Conjurer Court inside Kaleon city although at a much smaller scale. Keep the tradition alive for now until you recover", I promised Iras.
"That is fantastic. Will you be able to take all our conjurers?" Iras asked me.
"Nope, we will vet the conjurers individually. Only those with good character can join the new Conjurer Court. We don't want scums like Ivior joining", I replied to him.
"Yes, the Conjurer Court is due for a change of blood and scum cleansing", Epius told us.
"Remember to salvage the Shields of Enimus and Heliostat to be transferred to Kaleon city for repair and reinstallation", I told them.
"Why do I have a feeling you are profiting from our misery again", Epius told me.
"You already took our Heliostat Rod", Iras said to me.
"You can make another one. I'll pay for its construction", I replied to him.
"Did you really kill Supreme Conjurer Geesea?" Rinna asked me suddenly.
"I did", I replied to her to her surprise.
"That is unlike your character", she replied to me.
"Geesea is alive. We came quickly after he was killed and gave him a potion of resurrection. He will live and recover in time although he is still in a coma", Iras told Rinna.
"I don't understand, what happened?" Eless asked.
