SAVED BY THE TANK
The Shadow Summoners charged into the Conjurer Court from the magic portal that Ivior summoned.
"Well done, Adept Bulee. You have fulfilled your mission", Red Robe said to me as he appeared from the misty portal.
"You tricked that Ivior to sacrifice himself to cast this portal?" I asked Red Robe.
"Well, that is hardly surprising. You called him Stupid yourself. Who else could carry the role of sacrifice better than him. Will we harm our own brothers and sisters to come here?", Red Robe replied to me and asked.
"Damnit, what the hell are we doing here?" I asked him.
"We reclaim the Conjurer Court from the weaklings who banished us," he replied to me.
"You could have attacked the Conjurer Court without all this drama", I told Red Robe.
"You underestimate the old Supremes. They have a protective magic over the Conjurer Court that prevented our forceful entry. Only after many years, we found a loophole in the magic that enables our return through this magic portal", Red Robe told me.
The Conjurer Court had powerful defensive magic that prevented invasion by the Shadow conjurers. That defensive magic became moot now because the shadow had entered the court.
------
"Every conjurer go to their station and activate our force shield", Master Conjurer Iras shouted out to the conjurers before him and assigned them respective tasks.
The Shadow Conjurers appeared from the misty portal in the arena of the Conjurer Court and began attacking everyone in their path. The conjurers of the Conjurer Court were shocked and surprised by the invasion and were ill-prepared for the bloodthirsty showdown with the shadow conjurers.
Suddenly, the arena was surrounded by a dome of magic.
A powerful arraye of magic was conjured and ancient magic formed around the arena. The conjured shield contained the invading Shadow Conjurers inside its field.
"Fields of Containment"
The conjurers of the Conjurer Court were not the best at close combat, but they were good in pooling their magic to create impressive arraye magic. The force field around the magic arena was one such arraye.
"Why did these conjurers prepare a magical arraye around the arena beforehand?" Red Robe asked in surprise.
"Someone must have ticked off the conjurers to make preparations against our entry", I replied to him.
"How will they know we would arrive in this manner? Who will betray us to the conjurers?" Red Robe asked as he looked at me.
"Don't look at me. I don't know of your plans before this and have no reason to inform those bloody conjurers who want me dead, maybe the conjurers are just being cautious. Nobody in the shadows will betray our sect, I think", I replied to Red Robe.
"I guess that is true", Red Robe said.
"Actually, I was the one who betrayed the Shadow Conjurers, haha", I told myself and laughed.
I knew something bad was going to happen during the finals of the Conjurer Inheritance Competition.
I believe Conjurer Ivior was somehow related to the schemes of the Shadow Conjurers, and he could likely unleash something dangerous and unexpected.
So, I sent a message to Conjurer Iras to protect the arena with magic shields in case a powerful monster was invoked by Ivior. What I didn't expect was that Ivior didn't invoke a powerful monster.
He brought the entire monster clan into the Conjurer Court.
"What should we do about this containment magic?" an elder asked Red Robe.
"This containment field is child's play in front of the Shadow", Red Robe said to us.
-----
Suddenly, a group of elders draped in dark robes emerged from the shadows, their voices weaving an eerie incantation that danced through the air.
Their hands moved in intricate patterns, adding layers to the enchantment until it swelled into a symphony of mystic power.
From the depths of their collective energy, clouds billowed forth in the heavens, coalescing into a massive hand adorned with wicked claws.
The summoned appendage of the Shadow Conjurers lashed out, crashing against the protective barrier erected by their adversaries. Though the barrier held against the onslaught, it bore scars from the impact.
Before long, numerous Shadow Conjurers joined the fray, unleashing torrents of their most potent spells upon the conjurers' defenses, aiming to shatter them.
Even giants were conjured to ram the containment barrier.
After an unrelenting barrage, the Conjurer Court's protective shield finally buckled under the pressure.
With their defenses breached, the Shadow Conjurers surged forward, seeking out their prey among the conjurers, turning the once serene scene into a gruesome battlefield.
-----
"What are we going to do now, the shadow conjurers are breaking our magic arraye containment shield", a conjurer asked Master Conjurer Iras.
"The Shadow Conjurers are much stronger than the threat that we expected. Our magic arraye cannot contain them for long", Iras replied to him.
"What are we going to do now?" another conjurer asked.
"Everyone retreat to the Supreme Hall. The defensive magic there is much stronger there. We cannot defend here any longer", Conjurer Iras told the others as they prepared to leave there.
The conjurers of the Conjurer Court rushed to the Supreme Hall while the force field over the arena finally broke. Many shadow conjurers escaped into the Conjurer Court, slaying any soul that they found.
Those who failed to reach the Supreme Hall were stopped and most likely killed by the powerful Shadow Conjurers on the spot.
-----
"Get inside", Iviar screamed as he pushed Iras and the other conjurers toward the Supreme Hall.
"Bang…"
Suddenly, a large bang was heard. Iviar was struck by an enormous hammer.
"Go," Iviar screamed as the others had no choice but to run.
"We will not leave you", Illiwyn cried while watching Iviar being downed by a magical hammer.
Swiftly, Anitor pulled her away with his gravity magic. There was no time to consider the well-being of others in this situation even if a dear friend was in danger.
"You are putting pressure on Iviar by being here. Let him do what he is trained to do. He is our fighter, our tank", Eless told Illiwyn with tears flowing from her too.
