ARRESTED IN THE COMPETITION
"We note that. How did you return here unharmed?" a hooded figure asked Misenga.
"One of our apprentices, Yaw Bulee, saved us", Misenga replied to the elders of the Shadow sect as he pointed at me.
"How did you manage to escape from a Supreme Conjurer?", another hooded figure asked me.
"That cockroach. I killed him. Send me more like him and I'll kill all of them right away", I replied to the elder.
"I apologize masters, he is a brash and undisciplined one. Elder Tsianka who trained him was killed by the Conjurer Court. He hasn't learned his manners yet", Misenga told the elders about me and apologized.
"What is there to apologize about. It is just the killing of a few scums. Even you old fools, I'll kill you all if you dare mess with me", I told the hooded figures to their shock and horror.
"Who the hell is this rude boy?" an elder asked angrily.
"He is Elder Tsianka's apprentice", Misenga replied.
"Tsianka never told us he has an apprentice like him", a third elder asked.
"Go ask him, in Hell", I replied to him rudely.
"It is possible that Tsianka is hiding him from us. You know he always wants the promotion to Master and producing an apprentice who can kill a Supreme Conjurer, that will elevate his position. Too bad he died", another elder in hoods said to them.
"We've seen your fight in the Conjurer Inheritance qualification match. You have displayed abilities stronger than our usual apprentices", an elder said to me albeit suspiciously.
"Tsianka's methods couldn't produce someone like you", another said to me.
"I am a born genius", I replied to him.
"Forgive us young man for being inquisitive. We are wondering ourselves whether you are indeed a part of our sect. As you know we are secretive, we do not know all the recruits of our elders and we are suspicious of those who claim to be our members", another elder said to me.
"Then why did you ask this creep to bring me here?", I asked them as I pointed to Misenga.
"How did you know we asked him to bring you to meet with us?" an elder asked me.
"Isn't it obvious. Nobody comes to this secret hideout without permission from you old farts. Do you think this scum Misenga dares bring others here on his own judgment", I told them as Misenga lowered his head in acknowledgment.
"The elders wanted to test your loyalty before they will meet you personally", Misenga told me.
"And now I passed your test?" I asked him.
"Yes, after you killed the Supreme Conjurer Geesea", Misenga told me.
"So, that idiot Ivior betraying us is all your doing? You just wanted to see how I will react when the bloody conjurers come to attack us?" I asked him.
"You are a rude one but also very intelligent. Yes, that was our plan", an elder replied to me.
"Hell, you expose the Shadow Conjurers you brought to join the Conjurer Inheritance contest just to test me. Don't you want to win the Conjurer Inheritance?" I asked them.
"Our decisions you do not have to worry about", another elder told me.
"Hey, I get it now. We are just the pawns that could be sacrificed, isn't it? You have other Shadows who will win the Conjurer Inheritance for you, we are here just to make up the numbers", I said to them and asked curiously.
"Yes, that was the plan, until your appearance. Your chances of winning the Conjurer Inheritance could disrupt our plans", an elder told me.
"So, you wanted to kick me out of the contest early and test my loyalty at the same time?" I asked them.
"Correct", an elder replied to me.
"Then this is all a waste of my time", I told them.
"Don't worry. You have proven your worth by killing Supreme Conjurer Geesea. You will be promoted to the position of Adept in our sect", another elder told me informing me about my promotion.
"What do I get as an Adept? Money or women?" I asked them greedily.
"You may have anything that you want. You will have to take them yourself though", another told me.
"Damn, this is a waste of my time", I replied to them.
"You may leave now", Misenga told me before giving me a new token.
The token was the insignia of an Adept of the Shadow Conjurers.
"What do I do after I leave here?", I asked them.
"What do you want to do?" Suddenly an elder in red hood asked me.
This elder wasn't like the others. He could be the leader of the sect of Shadow Conjurers or one of their higher ranked.
"Well, I came here to enter the Conjurer Inheritance contest, kill some scums but I guess they will not have me joining now. It is a waste of my time coming to Tarah city", I replied to the Red Elder.
"I have a new mission for you", The Red Elder told me suddenly.
"What mission?" I asked.
"You must kill someone for us or at least wound him enough to fear death by your hands", he replied to me.
------
The Conjurer Inheritance competition commenced not long after the raid on Pleasure Court.
The judges of the contest began calling the roll of contestants to register their attendance.
"Kunka", the judge asked but nobody answered him, so he crossed off the name on his list.
"Misenga", the judge asked but Misenga was also absent.
Then the judge called out, "Yaw Bulee".
"Here," I replied to him when suddenly the conjurers rose up to look at me in shock and surprise.
"Isn't he the criminal that attacked us and killed Supreme Conjurer Geesea?" a conjurer asked about me echoing the question on the conjurers' minds.
"Yes, that is correct", I replied to them.
"Arrest him immediately", a conjurer shouted to the guards to arrest me.
"Arrest me for what?" I asked the guy to his surprise.
