Chapter 44 - MAGIC ARENA OF TARAH CITY

MAGIC ARENA OF TARAH CITY

"How does this competition work?" I asked Emily.

"Someone in the list will challenge another by calling out the opponent. The competition ends when nobody is left to be called or when everyone else quits", Emily explained to me the simple terms of the family junior competition.

Suddenly, someone leaped onto the stage and shouted out.

"I challenge, Oriese of Kaleon, to a duel", a boy who looked much older than Oriese shouted out.

Although I took the appearance of Oriese the Bully, I wasn't him. I have a special magic that could make me look like anybody else, and I took on Oriese's face for a mission of the Temple of Solomons.

"I must get rid of this Oriese alter ego soon", I told myself in my mind.

------

"I Frederer, son of Erriley challenges Oriese of Kaleon, son of Orol", someone leaped onto the prepared stage to challenge me.

"Son of Erriley?" I asked Emily.

"Yeah, he is a big bully just like his father. You don't have to fight him if you don't want to, the family fight is not mandatory", mily told me.

"I'll pass", I screamed back to the arena stage to the surprise of everyone.

"How dare you kill my father with sneaky tricks and now refuses to fight with me", Frederer shouted to me.

"Yeah, coward, fight with him", another participant in the competition screamed at me.

"Yes, a disgrace to the family", another added.

"How did one in our branch have such a useless brat", a third added.

There were many cries and taunts among the challengers and families, all of them trying to taunt me to fight with Frederer.

"Is that Frederer any good at fighting?" I asked Emily.

"He is one of the best among the juniors of the family. He is already at the peak of Jupiter tier in templar magic and has training in powerful conjurations and techniques", Emily told me.

"Is the Flaming Tiger of Moresby his best magic?" I asked Emily.

"How did you know?" She asked me.

"His father cast it toward me last time", I replied to her.

"And you managed to survive that? Unbelievable", she said to me.

"I have my bodyguards with me at that time", I replied to her.

"You better ignore him, he came for revenge not in the spirit of competition it seems", Emily warned me.

"Look at that Orol. Born in a minor family and now has a useless son who couldn't accept a fair challenge from his peers", someone shouted out from the VIP stage.

"Who the hell is that?" I asked Emily.

"That is my father, Prince Heller", she replied to me as she quickly hid behind some furniture.

"Forgive me, Patriarch of the family. It is my fault for not teaching my son manners. Please forgive him. Forgive us", Orol started pleading to Prince Heller, the patriarch of the Mithridocus family.

"Damnit, Orol, why must you plead with fools like them?" I asked out loud.

"Stop it Oriese, you must beg for forgiveness", Orol said to me.

There was a conspiracy going on in this family gathering.

Our family was never invited to the gathering before and the first time they asked us to come, they wanted me to fight with their scion who was coincidentally the son of Duke Erriley that I killed earlier.

This was an attempt to murder me in a competitive battleground.

"This is not the place to fight if you want to challenge me. I don't want to break your bloody house down", I shouted out to the Mithridocus clan to their shock and horror.

"What do you mean?" Frederer asked me.

"If you want to fight with me, provide a wager and fight me in the Magic Arena of Tarah city, if you dare", I replied to him.

"This is a family competition between the family there is no need for a wager", Prince Heller told me.

"Shut your fat arse if your bloody family can't even afford a wager. One hundred million Aurs. If you can come up with that pocket change, I will accept your challenge in the Magic Arena", I said to the prince and his clan.

"I will challenge you in the Magic Arena", Frederer shouted to me to accept my challenge.

"So be it. Bring cash to the Magic Arena and finish this once and for all. The audience in this bloody clan is not enough to satisfy my spirit of bully", I shouted to them.

"What are you doing, son?" Orol asked me worriedly.

"Let's move over to the Magic Arena", I told him and walked out of the party.

"Can I come?" Emily asked me softly, afraid that her father would hear her.

"Anybody can see the duel as long as you pay for the ticket", I replied to her.

------

The Magic Arena of Tarah City mirrored the design of Kalydon City's counterpart, albeit on a grander scale.

At its heart stood a vast coliseum encircled by spectator seats, with a mesmerizing magic arena suspended in the center. When the battle commenced, the magic arena ascended into the sky, leaving challengers with no means of escape.

A tumble from the arena resulted in immediate defeat.

Simultaneously, as the arena soared, the VIP cubicles and seating arrangements elevated gracefully. These magical seats ascended in harmony with the arena, ensuring that those who could afford such luxuries enjoyed the finest vantage points to witness the unfolding spectacle of the fight.

------

"Where are you?" I asked as I looked across the Magic Arena for someone.

"I will kill you today, bastard of Kaleon for killing my father", Frederer shouted to me.

However, I wasn't concerned by Frederer at all. I was looking for my partner in the Coliseum. Then suddenly, I found him.

"Huh, I will never have expected in my old life that I will have a chance to do this again", Hugo shouted out to me.

During my time in magic school, Hugo was there. He was my partner who would help me bet on myself winning local fights in the Betting Stations.

"Did you place it?" I asked him.

"Yes, everything", he replied to me.

"Great", I replied to him before I turned to Frederer, "What the Hell are you waiting for?"
