THE CONJURER'S VAULT
The drones quickly went around the vault to scour for books and writings before scanning them into their database. Copying the books in the library was as easy as flipping their pages.
"This is a knowledge haul", I said to them with satisfaction.
There were many rare books that couldn't be found elsewhere in the Ten-Kingdoms, so this was a treasure trove of knowledge that I would bring out from here for free.
A day wasn't very long to read and memorize a book, but Sara and her machines memorized almost the entire collection of books from the treasure vault.
"Come here there's a hidden compartment", Ratatouille informed us suddenly.
Ratatouille was combined with the souls of the Anti-Saint of Greed and a rat. The rat's instinct to discover hidden cracks in the walls coupled with Greed's greedy instincts, they were the perfect treasure hunting companions.
There was a hidden cabinet behind one of the cabinets, so I opened it to check what was inside. It was a strangely familiar cube that I'd encountered before.
"Damnit it's another Tesseract", I said to them.
Suddenly the Tesseract warped at high frequency into thousands of strange dimensions before it would be absorbed into my Valhallan Crux.
"Rinna take the Tesseract", I offered the Tesseract to her.
"Yes, I found this Tesseract at last, I suspected for a very long time this Tesseract is kept here", Rinna said to us as a multi-headed Serpent hologram rose above her.
One of the heads of her summoned Serpent of Neheb struck out toward the Tesseract, biting the rapidly warping Tesseract with her fangs.
"It was I who found it", Ratatouille reminded Rinna about his merit.
"Thank you", Rinna replied to him.
The Tesseract soon reduced its warping and was turned into magic essence that was absorbed by Rinna's Serpent.
"What Tesseract is that?" I asked her.
"The Tesseract of Flesh", she said to me excitedly as she jumped on me to give me a kiss like a little girl.
"She's been looking for this Tesseract for a hundred years", Sara told me.
"This means a lot to me", Rinna said to me about giving her the Tesseract.
"What does it do for you?" I asked her.
"It will give my Serpents real blood and flesh and a magical heart. My serpent will be reborn into the world instead of being a magical soul", she told me.
"So, they won't be just holograms anymore?" I asked her and she took the opportunity to kiss me again.
"Hey, stop it. It's my turn", Cassandra came over to kiss me too.
"What about me? I'm your concubine too", Meera said to me without losing out on the action.
"Of course, I won't leave you out", I said to her as I gave her a kiss too.
Rinna was my love in my previous life.
She realized that her feelings for me carried over to this life. She wasn't the possessive type and accepted my earlier relationships with Cassandra and Meera.
Although the three girls were competing for my love, they weren't animus to each other. It seemed that in this world, I could actually have a harem for real.
"This is a vault not a hotel and we are about to check out", Ratatouille reminded me.
"Aren't you taking anything from the Vault?" Meera asked me.
"I already did and if I took something else, they might find out", I told the greedy rat.
"What if they don't know about the secret cabinet? Then you missed out on a treasure", he asked me.
"Well, that's a risk that I must take for being conservative. Besides there's nothing good to take from here otherwise you will have spotted it in an instant", I told the rat who sort of agreed.
-----
"Why didn't you take your reward from the vault?" Conjurer Iras asked me.
"There's nothing there that I liked, and I read a few books here and there, so consider that my reward", I told the Conjurer who didn't believe it at all when his clerks told him I took nothing from the vault.
"Well, I don't know if you are really honest or dumb, but you are the only person ever who refused a reward from the vault. Do you know what kind of treasures that we collected there throughout the years", he told me.
"Damnit I should have listened to the rat", I scolded myself for being too conservative.
"If there's nothing else, I would like to leave", I said farewell to the Conjurer as I made my way out.
"Actually, there's something else", Conjurer Iras asked me before I left.
"What is it?" I asked him.
"See that badge of yours. It has seven stars on it. In your badge only one star is lit, indicating your status as an apprentice", Conjurer Iras said to me.
"So, I'll have to light more stars in my badge, how do I do that?" I asked him.
"Contributions to the Conjurer Court will increase your lighted stars. When you reach four stars, you become a full-fledged conjurer. At five stars, a Master Conjurer and at six stars a Supreme Conjurer. Only the original Supremes will have seven lighted stars on their badges", Conjurer Iras told me.
"Damn, I must go grinding again?" I asked him.
"You can earn contributions from the Mission Center in the Conjurer Court", Conjurer Iras told me.
-----
The Mission Center occupied a sprawling block inside the Conjurer Court.
Within its walls, a bustling marketplace unfolded, with numerous individuals hawking vouchers featuring distinct missions.
Those who acquired these vouchers faced the challenge of completing the specified tasks within a set timeframe. Success in the missions earned valuable points for apprentices and conjurers, while failure resulted in demerits.
The first floor of the Mission Center catered to apprentice conjurers.
Scores of booths adorned this mission market, each offering a variety of tasks. Among them, the most prevalent mission involved hunting magical creatures dwelling in the untamed wilderness.
------
"Look it's the Bully of Starri city", someone who recognized me immediately shouted out as the rest of the people in the Mission Center suddenly stopped to look.
