Chapter 18 - FATE OF GEMINI DIVIDED

FATE OF GEMINI DIVIDED

It was Ratatouille. He came out from hiding to block the soldier ants from attacking my back.

"Arggggghhhhhh"

Ratatouille screamed as his shoulder was also bitten by the soldier ants. These soldier ants usually aim for the shoulders because that would disable their victims' limbs.

Luckily for Ratatouille, his shoulder transformed into a stump before another limb grew on his back. Ratatouille was a shape shifter and by shifting the poison in his body, his arms and hands could move and cast magic.

But he didn't come to fight with the ants. He carried me to fly away from the soldier ants.

"Hell, you saved my life", I said to the greedy rat thankfully.

"Thank me when we get out of this bloody mine. We should have brought more people to fight this bloody ants", he told me.

"Sorry, anger went into my mind and clouded my judgment", I replied to him.

The death of my friend Agrilla affected me and in my wrath, I rushed down to destroy the ant nest without planning.

Suddenly, something fell in front of us.

It was an enormous creature. More precisely, it was the abdomen of the colossal Ant Queen.

Her soldiers failed to kill me and now she had to finish the job herself.

"Damnit, this bitch is vengeful", Ratatouille said to me.

"Sword of Nyx"

With my left hand, I conjured a powerful beam into the belly of the Ant Queen. The beam disintegrated parts of the queen, making a hole in her body.

"Rawwrrrrrrr"

However, the Queen of Ant wasn't deterred by my sword beam. Soon, hundreds of worker ants rushed into the queen's body, turning into liquid Mithrium that patched her body. The Queen was fully recovered almost in an instant.

"Damnit, how do we kill this bloody ant queen if she regenerates so quickly with her worker ants. She has millions of them in this nest", I said to Ratatouille.

"I really don't know, I can only do what I can", he replied to me as he conjured his magic.

"Golden Chains of Greed"

Magical golden chains dropped from the ceiling of the cavern that quickly caught the Queen ant's limbs and neck. The magical chains pulled the queen into the air immobilizing her momentarily.

"Damnit, the soldiers are coming again", I told Ratatouille.

While we suspended the Queen ant in the air, her soldiers rushed to her rescue. The Queen ant's enormous body blocked our exit from the cavern, and it seemed we would have to die here in this place, fighting to the end.

"Think of something, you always have some smart ideas", Ratatouille told me.

"What can I do now?" I asked the rat and myself.

I've used all the magic that I could, and it was practically useless against the Queen and her ants. There was one last magic though that I could use but that could only kill the Queen. I would still need to fight against the millions of soldiers.

"Use your bloody Sword of Malevolence", Ratatouille told me and advised.

"I have only one shot with that, and the Queen might regenerate her wounds with her bloody ants sacrificing their magic to her. The last time I used the Sword of Malevolence to kill Jormungan, it didn't kill him", I told Ratatouille.

In my epic battle with the Serpent monster of Byorgvin Island, Jormungan, I conjured the most powerful of my magic, the Dark Angel's sword, the Sword of Malevolence. But even that couldn't kill Jormungan.

The Queen Ant wasn't inferior to Jormungan and she could regenerate quickly. If I wasted my final trump card, then it would really be the end of me.

"What do you need to kill the bloody bitch?" Ratatouille asked me.

"For a start, I must stop her bloody antlings from replenishing her magic and healing her", I told Ratatouille.

"You'll have better luck killing the queen than her minions", he replied to me.

"What if I could isolate the queen from her ants?" I asked Ratatouille and myself.

"How the hell will you be able to do that?" he asked me.

"I have something that might work but I've never tried it before", I told him.

[When I first started learning advanced templar magic in Kalydon College Confederates, the first college I went to was Discord College. The college inducted me into chaos magic.

Chaos magic wasn't the usual kind of magic.

The first skill I learned was to tame chaos, which causes the furniture and everything around me to lose control.

The second skill helps me divert anything that was thrown towards me, misdirecting their directions.

The third skill suppresses the magic of everyone around me.

The fourth skill casts a desperate magic mirror that would deflect all harm that comes my way but returning the harm to both my enemies and me as return damages.

The fifth and last skill that I learned was to determine my fate.]

The fifth chaos skill I learned from Discord college was a chaos magic that could lock two beings in a battle to the death that was uninterruptible both by the duelist or those in the vicinity.

"Fate of Gemini Divided"

I cast my chaos magic on the Metallic Ant Queen and myself and suddenly both the Queen and me were raised into the air as we were locked at eye level.

-----

A magical dome was conjured before the Queen and me surrounding us with shimmering translucent sheen, which exuded an aura of unbreakable conviction.

Inside this dome, an epic battle was about to unfold—one that would decide the fate between the two, the Queen and I, obscured from the world outside.

Within the dome's confines, lay the magical Metallic Ant Queen, her presence regal and commanding. She was no ordinary ant but a being of extraordinary power and wisdom. Her iridescent wings shimmered like a kaleidoscope of colors, reflecting the different light inside the dome. Her antennae gracefully twitched, attuned to the very essence of the surrounding magic.

The dome's environment was a surreal blend of reality and illusion. The ground beneath their feet constantly shifted, transforming from lush grasslands to a scorching desert or a frozen tundra. The dome's atmosphere crackled with raw energy, casting an eerie glow upon us.

Outside the dome, our friends couldn't watch the battle happening between us, and neither were they able to interfere.

That was the unmistakable rule of Fate of Gemini Divided. Our fate was locked, and it became a matter between the two inside the dome and no other.

Even the thousands of metallic ants were locked out of the duel between the Queen and I. This was what I had in my mind when I used the chaos magic.

This was the only way to defeat the Queen and her minions. My only chance.

----

"Rawwwrrrrrr"

A primal roar echoed from the Queen as the realization of a disturbance in her realm gripped her.

My chaos magic ensnared her, disrupting her ability to summon and spawn more ants. Locked in a deadly struggle with me, she found her usual summoning and breeding powers nullified, just as my golems remained dormant.

Alone in the confrontation with the Queen ant, the true duel was about to unfold.

The enclosed dome wasn't a fixed dimension but a mystical space, summoned to arbitrate our destiny. To the onlooker, we were ensnared within a misty sphere, but within it, our battleground materialized, a vast world and a playground to determine our fate.

"Silver Mandible Crush."

The metallic ant queen lunged towards me, her mandibles resembling a formidable alloy, perhaps forged from Mithrium, the toughest of metals.

Despite her imposing size, the Queen's unexpected speed couldn't catch me, and her mandibles narrowly missed their mark.

------

"How did the Queen ant see me while I turned invisible?", I asked myself.

I was surprised that the Queen ant could see me while inside the duel space.

"It is impossible to become invisible inside the dome space. There is no hiding in the duel of the Gemini", I speculated to myself.

But I wasn't useless without my Invisibility magic.

"Instant Strike"

I teleported behind the ant queen just as her mandibles were about to crush me.

"Sword of Nyx"

My conjured beams projected a powerful sword that cut the ant queen's antennas, destroying it completely.

"Aarrrrgghhhhhh"

The Queen ant screamed after losing her antennas and she rushed around the magical battle dome with no clear direction, ignoring me or temporarily unable to see me.

"The Queen can't see me?" I asked myself.

By default, I turned invisible although invisibility might be ineffective inside the dome of fate. To my surprise, the queen couldn't see me now but moments ago she could.

"There must be something that caused the queen not to see me", I told myself.

Then I realized the reason. It was the Queen's antennae that I destroyed.

This was the first time that I cast this chaos magic, the Fate of Gemini Divided. I wasn't familiar with the mechanics of this duel.

I now realized that invisibility inside the dome wouldn't be detected automatically by the opponent.

The Queen ant detected me earlier despite my invisibility because she has another skill, the magic in her antennas that could see me not with sight but with a special sense.
