Chapter 46 - Hit Ayao

Su Hui felt as though someone held a sharp knife and ruthlessly stabbed it into her chest, causing excruciating pain.

Her complexion turned as pale as paper, and her stance became unsteady.

She gripped the railing tightly, her knuckles turning white.

This was the man who, just this morning, was reluctant to part with her, wanting to shrink her and carry her in his pocket wherever he went.

In the blink of an eye, he was chatting and laughing with his ex-girlfriend, becoming a pair once again.

Indeed, men's words could be deceitful ghosts.

Shen Yuan was startled by her appearance, holding her hand and anxiously asking, "Su Hui, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell? Is it because the Ferris wheel is too high, and you're afraid of heights?"

Su Hui nodded woodenly, her chest rising and falling rapidly.

After a full minute, her pale complexion gradually returned to normal, and she self-mockingly curled her lips.

No wonder Gu Beixian didn't want her to go out. He claimed it was because of the chaotic world, but it was likely to prevent her from seeing him and Chu Suosuo together.

She couldn't understand him. If he couldn't forget his old feelings for Chu Suosuo, why divorce and marry her?

Why hold onto her while still entangled with Chu Suo?

Su Hui sat quietly, expressionless, not uttering a word.

Sitting beside her, Shen Yuan touched her head and asked, "Do you feel nauseous?"

Su Hui forced a smile, "How much longer until we can get down?"

Shen Yuan checked her watch, "It's almost time, just a little more wait."

A few minutes later, the Ferris wheel descended.

Su Hui and Shen Yuan got off together.

Worriedly looking at her, Shen Yuan said, "Feeling better now? Let me take you home."

"Feeling a bit better. Take me to Kyoto Grand Hotel."

Shen Yuan realized, "You want to see that handsome guy, Gu Beixian?"

Su Hui nodded.

She wanted to witness the intimate scenes between them, allowing herself to completely let go and leave him without any lingering feelings.

So as not to have a hundred reluctances in her heart, entangled and unresolved.

Shen Yuan fetched her car and drove Su Hui to Kyoto Grand Hotel.

After getting out of the car, Su Hui said to her, "Thank you, you can go back now."

Shen Yuan didn't think much, assuming her earlier reaction was due to a fear of heights, and replied, "Alright, contact me if you need anything."

Su Hui nodded and walked into Kyoto Grand Hotel.

Opening her bag, she took out her phone and dialed Gu Beixian's number, calmly asking, "In which room are you at Kyoto Grand Hotel?"

Gu Beixian paused and replied, "Third floor, Ying Song Ge. What's wrong?"

"Nothing." Su Hui hung up.

Walking to the elevator, she pressed the button and entered.

A few minutes later, she arrived at the entrance of Ying Song Ge, lightly tapping the door with her fingers.

A deep and familiar voice came from inside, "Please come in."

The tone was attractive, belonging to Gu Beixian.

Su Hui took a deep breath, pushed the door open, and saw a table full of people. There were at least seven or eight, including two assistants standing.

Seated at the head was Gu Aoting, and next to him was Gu Beixian.

Beside Gu Aoting was Chu Yanzhen.

Next to Chu Yanzhen was Chu Suosuo.

Gu Beixian and Chu Suosuo were not sitting together.

The assistants standing behind held contracts, seemingly discussing business.

It was a business banquet, not the romantic rendezvous she had imagined.

Su Hui's heart sank as she thought of the moments when they got off the same car, talking intimately, and Chu Suosuo smiling so happily.

She felt her entire being was not well.

Making an effort to compose herself, Su Hui turned to the cold-faced Gu Aoting, politely nodded, and apologized, "Sorry, Uncle Gu, I entered the wrong room."

Without waiting for his response, she quickly closed the door.

Because Gu Aoting's expression was too unpleasant, as well as Chu Yanzhen's, both darker than the other, it seemed watching any further would give her nightmares.

Su Hui walked away.

Hastening her steps towards the elevator.

After walking about twenty steps, she heard Gu Beixian's voice behind her, "Su Hui."

Su Hui paused, then walked even faster, determined to vent her frustration at him and Chu Suosuo for sharing the same car when the company had so many vehicles.

Gu Beixian, with his long legs, caught up.

Su Hui decided to jog.

Turning a corner without looking, in her haste, she collided with someone.

The person was extremely tall, with a thin shirt revealing firm chest muscles.

Su Hui's face was painful from the collision, especially her nose, which felt sore and teary.

She quickly covered her hurting nose, apologizing, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry."

"It's okay, is your nose alright?" The man's voice was a bit cold but distinctive, giving the feeling of a foreigner speaking Chinese, a bit rigid.

Su Hui raised her head.

She saw a handsome and deep face, short hair.

Before she could clearly see his features, she was captivated by his eyes.

They were very beautiful eyes, pitch black, as deep as the sea, melancholy and cold. The double eyelid folds were deep, and the lashes were dark and dense.

Looking into his eyes, Su Hui's heart trembled.

Those eyes were remarkably similar to Yao's, the same as, or even more than, Gu Beixian's.

Thinking of Yao, who sacrificed himself to save her, her heart began to ache.

First, a dull ache, then, after a while, a cutting pain.

She covered her chest, the pain making her lean against the wall, her complexion turning extremely pale.

"Are you okay?" The man reached out to help her.

His fingers hadn't touched Su Hui's arm when someone forcefully pushed him away.

A tall figure came over.

Gu Beixian rushed over.

He pulled Su Hui into his arms, a possessive gesture, cradling her face. Although his expression was cold, his eyes showed concern as he asked, "Where did you hit?"

Su Hui shook her head. When she wanted to look at the man she had just collided with, he had disappeared.

She stared at the empty corridor, lost in thought.

Gu Beixian caught the daze in her eyes.

The figure of the man just now, much like the one she saw in Sucun yesterday and in the photo Chu Moyan gave her, almost identical in height and physique.

The only difference was the clothing and hairstyle.

Clothes could be changed, and hairstyles could be cut.

A shadow fell over Gu Beixian's eyes, his face expressionless but with a chilling gaze. He calmly asked, "Do you know that person who just collided with you?"

Su Hui truthfully replied, "I don't know him. I just felt his eyes seemed familiar

."

Gu Beixian contemplated for a moment, seemingly weighing the credibility of her words.

After a moment, he nonchalantly supported her, guiding her into the elevator, pressing the button for the first floor, and asked gently, "Why did you come out?"

Su Hui stared fixedly at the elevator number buttons, absent-mindedly answering, "Shen Yuan needed the partial map of Wang Meng's seclusion painting, the museum was selecting a successor, and I happened to be passing by."

Gu Beixian took her hand and carefully examined it, "Can you draw with your hand now?"

Su Hui withdrew her hand, saying indifferently, "Drawing mainly relies on the right hand, so it doesn't affect much."

"What do you want to eat? I'll take you."

"I've already eaten with Shen Yuan." Su Hui still avoided looking at him.

Gu Beixian understood her awkwardness, explaining, "Chu Suosuo has entered her father's company, taking the role of my assistant. Gu Corporation and Chu Corporation have many business collaborations, so we are bound to run into each other. But rest assured, I'll be cautious."

Su Hui pursed her lips, silent.

She knew Chu Suosuo.

Several times, she saw Chu Suosuo clinging and hugging Gu Beixian, acting ambiguously.

The woman was beautiful, coquettish, and adept at being charming. Over time, which man could withstand her?

Moreover, she was Gu Beixian's childhood sweetheart, with more than a decade of feelings, recognized by Gu Aoting as the future daughter-in-law.

Su Hui walked out of the hotel lobby, heavy with thoughts.

Seeing the two of them, the driver immediately started the car and drove over.

Gu Beixian instructed the driver, "Take Su Hui home."

The driver got out of the car, opened the rear door, and respectfully said, "Madam, please get in."

Su Hui thanked him and got into the car, sitting down.

A sweet and nauseating perfume scent wafted in the car, Chu Suosuo's scent.

She covered her nose, feeling a sense of repulsion.

It was like taking a bite of an apple, only to find half a worm inside, and the other half had been swallowed.

After watching the car leave, Gu Beixian returned to the hotel.

Entering the lobby, he picked up his phone and called his assistant, "Go check the surveillance footage of the third-floor corridor in the hotel, find out the name and background of the person Su Hui collided with."

Half an hour later, the assistant entered Ying Song Ge and handed the information to Gu Beixian.

He took it, lowered his gaze, and stared at the name column on the document. His eyes gradually turned icy.

In clear black and white, the name was written: Gu Jinyao.

Yao.

Su Hui's beloved brother.
