"Which one?"
"The second young master of the Gu's Group, Gu Beixian."
Su Huo hesitated on how to respond for a moment.
Calling him her ex-husband would be inaccurate since they were not divorced yet. Referring to him as her husband would be misleading, as he had already proposed a divorce, paid the separation fee, and his heart had long moved on to Chu Suosuo.
After a brief silence, Su Huo replied, "A relative."
"You're surnamed Su, and he's surnamed Gu. Is he your cousin?"
Su Huo absentmindedly nodded.
Three years ago, due to Gu Beixian's leg injury, they had a simple wedding ceremony and only got a marriage certificate. Apart from close friends, no one knew they were married.
Now, on the brink of divorce, there was no need to publicize it. Cousin it was.
Seeing her in low spirits, Shen Huai asked, "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine."
"Nonsense. Clearly, something is bothering you."
"Mr. Shen, what kind of women do men like?" Su Huo felt a knot in her heart.
Shen Huai smiled, "Different strokes for different folks. Some like plump, others prefer slender. As for me..."
He secretly glanced at her profile.
With a melon-seed face, fair and proportionate, watery large eyes, and long eyelashes resembling butterflies.
The light from the streetlamp scattered on her face, a bit distorted but giving her the appearance of a painting.
His heart skipped a beat and he said, "I appreciate Miss Su's demeanor – gentle, calm, beautiful but unaware, possessing talents yet not boastful, not restless."
Su Huo smiled faintly.
So, there were men who appreciated her like this.
Being liked didn't require her to be wild, extravagant, changing, or scheming. She could still be herself.
"However, you're just an artisan restoring artifacts; it's not as exaggerated as you said." Su Huo's mood improved slightly.
"Without any exaggeration, your skill in restoring ancient books and paintings has reached the top in the industry. Many so-called experts couldn't achieve your level even in their lifetime."
"Mr. Shen, you're too kind. I've been learning from my grandfather since a young age. He personally taught me, and with my young age, I had more opportunities to practice. If I still couldn't do well, it would be disrespectful to him."
"Talent and effort are crucial, as well as personality. Restoring ancient books and paintings requires a lot of patience. Nowadays, not many young people are willing to learn, and the skill is on the verge of extinction."
"That's true."
As the car turned, Su Huo said, "Could you please take me home? I don't want to go back to the hotel."
"Sure."
They arrived at the small residential area where Su Huo lived.
Su Huo, holding the packed dishes, got out of the car.
Shen Huai also got out, "It's quite late. Let me accompany you upstairs."
"Thank you."
Taking the packed dishes from Su Huo, Shen Huai smiled, finding it rare to encounter someone from a wealthy background who still packed their meals.
Restoring ancient books and paintings might be a niche but lucrative profession. Talents were scarce, and the salary he offered her was exceptionally high. In theory, she shouldn't be so thrifty.
After sending Su Huo downstairs, Shen Huai didn't feel like leaving. He held her and chatted for a while, mostly about work.
The moonlight was beautiful, and even just talking to her made his mood unexpectedly good.
Suddenly, Su Huo's eyes stiffened.
Seeing a tall, straight figure approaching from a distance, a figure that exuded charm even from afar, Su Huo recognized him at a glance – Gu Beixian.
She wondered silently; wasn't he supposed to be taking Chu Suosuo to the hospital? Why did he come back so soon?
Sensing her unease, Shen Huai turned to look and said with a smile, "Your cousin is here."
Su Huo paused and nodded indifferently.
As Gu Beixian approached, Shen Huai extended his right hand in a polite manner, "You must be Su Huo's cousin. Hello, I'm her colleague, Shen Huai."
Gu Beixian lowered his gaze to Su Huo, his eyes cold and frosty, "I'm her cousin?"
