Charlotte clutched her right ear in agony, breaking free from Margaret's embrace, stumbling back several steps.
"I'm sorry..." Her voice trembled. "I suddenly have a headache."
Margaret discreetly withdrew her hand, wearing a perfectly timed expression of concern. "Are you feeling too tired? You should sit down and rest."
Charlotte shook her head. "I'm afraid I won't be able to continue with the rehearsal today..."
Margaret nodded understandingly.
She watched Charlotte leave, pondered for a moment, then summoned Christina and instructed in a low voice, "Please keep a close eye on Miss Charlotte's condition. She's been a cause for concern lately."
Christina murmured her agreement.
As the least conspicuous member of the knighthood, Christina possessed sharp observational skills and a formidable network. She was responsible for monitoring Charlotte's movements within the academy and periodically reporting back to Margaret.
