After seeing the professor off, a few familiar lower-class girls hesitantly approached her and informed her that Charlotte seemed to have entered the restricted forest area.
"We know she's your friend, so we thought you should know... the forest area is very dangerous. She went in with Elizabeth, but soon after, only Elizabeth came out..."

This noblewoman was already engaged to another man, and that man... had previously made advances towards Charlotte in the library, only to be slapped by Elizabeth.
