Chapter 17 - Chapter 17-debut

After finishing the opening dance, Margaret immediately parted ways with Douglas. She avoided several young people who wanted to chat and took a glass of white wine from a waiter's tray, then ascended alone to the second floor of the hall, leaning against the railing to overlook the lively scene below.

Pairs of men and women stood on the dance floor, laughing and embracing. The old nobles gathered nearby, chatting leisurely and occasionally raising their glasses with smiles. As the guest of honor at the banquet, Douglas was surrounded by a large crowd. 

He probably didn't enjoy such occasions, especially in overly crowded environments, hence the indifferent aloofness on his face.

There were plenty of women in the capital who fell for this act. Some even boldly expressed their desires, hoping to become Douglas's paramour, allowing him to toy with their bodies with his cold fingers adorned with white gloves, and inscribe his signature between open thighs.
