Chapter 101 - Assessment

"Phew." I let out a sigh of relief. I had managed to get down without getting a single injury or encountering bad omen. Unlike I had feared, there were no enemies.

"Hello?! Make a bit of noise so I can know where you are!"

I still received no response, no matter how hard I yelled and no matter what I requested. With these clues, I could make up only two possible scenarios. They were either dead or unconscious. They couldn't be suffering from heavy injuries nor could they be so hungry to the point they couldn't even speak.

"Just where are these tw-"

I was muttering some words, but immediately stopped when I felt the ground trembling and heard something eerie but familiar enough for me to hope that that sound wasn't coming from what I thought it was coming from.

"Shit." I muttered unconsciously when a figure reached beyond my height all of a sudden.
