I swung my sword immediately, because right now, the person hadn't launched an attack yet, and it was the best opportunity for me to attack first.
There was no way for the person to not have any bad intentions. Not only did I believe that he was a zombie who would definitely aim to eat me, but I was also certain because of how he was trying to hold me in place.
'His brain is functioning, but I don't think it's doing well. Why else the simple sentences, and that weak magic power that's not enough to hold me in place…' I quickly analyzed.
Because of what I've come to figure out, I swung my sword without hesitation. I was certain that there was no better opportunity than this…
'Unfortunately…'
Although I might have taken advantage by grabbing onto a clear opportunity, that didn't mean that I was guaranteed to have things the way I wanted to go. My sword could not reach the man's neck, as the force that was holding me back grew stronger when the edge of my sword was just halfway close to getting near his neck.
The man's force against me was a thing that restricted me from launching towards him or running away from him. I believed It was the intent of holding down a prey. Something so simple but effective for a low intelligent being to do.
'I see…' Figuring out the method and mindset that my opponent might have, I saw right through this kind of entrapment.
So… I let go of my sword and the food that I had with me. And at the same time, I quickly crouched down with the goal to sweep the man's legs.
The man's intelligence and magic power were too weak to restrict my sudden and unexpected movements. Because of this weakness which I was able to take advantage of, I was able to bring the man down to the ground.
Then, I had the chance to attack him without getting interrupted, since he was too stunned to realize what was going on.
'Eyes.'
Like a hungry lizard, I swiftly crawled to be in reach of the man's head. My two arms were on each side of the man's head, and he could not see what my hands were going to do to him. He could not stop me… hehehehe….
Since his lack of intelligence was just a guess, I didn't take any chances by doing things that could make me lose the upper hand I had at the moment. So, I moved decisively and went to stab his eyes with my thumbs before he could even notice my movement.
Without a given, my attack worked, as the guy had only used his telekinetic force to stop me from bringing my upper body closer to him. When he did that I almost wanted to laugh, saying things like, 'You think I'm some beast that would bite you?!' in my head.
'Now that the most important tool for his magic to be effective is gone, he's no longer difficult to hack with the sword!' I backed away from the guy, knowing that I could do nothing more with my hands.
I believed that since he was a zombie, using the sword would be the only way to kill him without the worry of questioning whether he was truly dead or not. That's why I stood up and walked away while keeping an eye on the guy, before equipping the sword in my hand.
'Huh?' Out of nowhere, I felt a tremble, as if something heavy was dropped to the ground.
"Cuh!"
It was too late for me to react. Something big and strong had punched my back, sending me flying right past the robed figure whom I had blinded a second ago. It happened all too sudden, all because of the weakness of having my senses limited to a distance of five meters.
Initially, I had thought that it was only my vision, but apparently, with what had occurred just now, I realized I could not hear something like a truck coming my way.
Indeed I considered the unknown entity and unaccounted variable something similar to a truck. His punch was so powerful, I could still feel the pain, and not to say, my spine was broken! That entity was definitely not so simple! He was on the level of that magician who had brought the pathway to crumble down with his explosion!
'Perhaps he might be even stronger!' I thought as I lay pathetically on the ground, unable to move. 'I don't know what hurts more… This, or falling from a good height?' I was a sitting duck and could do nothing, as I had basically become disabled, and incapable of any movement due to the severity of muscle connections and pain that I was going through. I had to wait for the pain to fade a little before I could try moving more.
"Agh… ough… haaaaa…. Nghh…." Other than wailing and bearing through the pain, I could do nothing but think, thoughts that might be necessary and thoughts that might be not. After all the pain I was suffering, it was hard to see or hear anything past five meters.
'How much longer?!... I need to at least see what kind of monster hit me… Sutow won't be able to help me, since he'd probably get by that entity too, as he'd be suffering from the same blindness after teleporting. How long does it take? Two to three minutes, if I remember right? Sigh… Am I going to die? At this point, I might as well accept it! This world is too tough…'
It wasn't long after this hopeless thought when my senses were no longer under the effect of being limited.
Finally, I decided to see the one who had broken my spine.
