It was a simple journey back to the camp, without strife as the creatures that lurked in the jungle seemed to be well aware of just who caused the change in terrain. The occasional serpent hissed at him, and the passing ape watched him from afar, though he paid them no mind as he trudged through the tall grass.
Up a slight slope and through a familiar row of vines, he pushed past a bush to find the sight of the three tents illuminated by a weakened campfire.
'Easy does it,' he thought to himself, taking silent steps to make sure he didn't alert any of his slumbering comrades.
He made sure to carefully drag the zipper up of his tent to muffle the crunchy noise as much as possible, though he was already aware that the blonde-haired girl was a surprisingly heavy sleeper.
