"Bang, Bang, Bang," distant noises entered Kruxe's ears, and without his heavy mind needing to exert any effect, just the fact that the sounds came as distant sounds were enough reason for Kruxe to ignore them and go on sleeping.
Kruxe didn't know how many times, but several times as he slept, these loud "bang" sounds kept resounding in his head, but with his mind all heavy, he easily ignored it.
Kruxe had no idea how much time had passed, but then suddenly a loud "bang" reached his ears, the sound so loud that his body instinctively sat up on its own.
During these few seconds of clarity, Kruxe's eyes were greeted to near darkness, while his ears became filled with sounds of shouting, gunshots, and loud "bangs' which he now realized could only be heavy cannon fire.
Immediately Kruxe's mind was sent into chaos, but before any meaningful information could be derived, a heavy weight settled on his mind, and Kruxe found his eyes dropping, the sleeping pill he had taken trying to do its work
"No, no, noo" Kruxe screamed within, as he tightly gripped the sheets of the bed, and pushed himself off it.
His waist swayed without control for a few seconds but Kruxe stayed on his feet, and then using the small red light that filtered from outside through his small window, he staggered his way to the door.
With heavy steps, Kruxe reached the door, but just as he reached to push it open, his mind was hit with an irresistible weight and he found himself collapsing to the floor.
Kruxe didn't know how long, but he knew he was out for some time, but immediately he came back to it and the memories of what had transpired the last time he was conscious came rushing in, he let out a roar in his mind and pushed himself to his feet.
Scared of falling prey to his heavy mind once again, he charged the door, hitting it open and falling into several squishy objects in the dimly lit corridor.
"Urghhh" Kruxe groaned as he focused his mind and pushed his eyes open only to be greeted by the sight of a pool of blood slowing expanding toward him.
Like a perfect stimulant, this image had him energetically pushing his upper body off the floor and taking in a proper look at his surroundings.
With the manageable lighting spilling from the holes in the ceiling, Kruxe was made aware that he hadn't fallen on objects, but bodies, dead human bodies.
"All around Kruxe were bodies, and when he looked to his door, he saw Blaun sitting just beside it, his chest and mouth stained with a lot of blood.
The sight of his personal, guard dead sent Kruxe into a bit of panic, and with great effort and fear, he looked to the end of the corridor which was but about 5 steps away, his eyes zeroing on the door at the end.
Like a buzzing fly, Kruxe's brain which had cleared up from his earlier fall began closing up again, but the second Kruxe's eyes saw that the door at the end was wide open, and stained with blood, his mind entered into overdrive.
"Mom" he groaned out, somehow kicking himself to his feet and making a clumsy dash for it.
Within a few seconds, he reached the door, grabbing the side of the door while his eyes scanned the room.
Though he wasn't counting, Kruxe knew that there were at least up to 10 dead bodies in the room, but on checking through the dead bodies and not seeing any red hair, his heart was filled with relief and then he turned to leave.
Using the edges of the door as leverage, Kruxe pushed himself off the door and turned around only to find himself staring face to face with a grinning man who had curly black hair with pierced lips and blood running down the sides of his head.
His lips stretched into a wide smile as he pressed a pointy object on Kruxe's stomach, but before he could do anything, a dagger flew from the side and fiercely pierced his head from the side and he crumbled to the ground.
The minute Kruxe had seen the man, his brain had shut down, and his legs had gotten heavy as fear gripped him.
Watching the man's fierce and intimidating appearance paralyzed Kruxe, but before the man could do anything to him, he crumpled to the ground.
Kruxe registered that the man was now most likely dead, but his shocked brain still did not recover from his earlier fear, his brain not even bothering to figure out how he had been saved
Perhaps Kruxe would have eventually gotten himself back, but before that could happen, his heavy mind kicked back in as he saw him falling to the floor and being on all fours.
Greater than ever, Kruxe's vision began getting blurry and he found his arms began trembling, showing that he would soon collapse.
Frustration began setting in as Kruxe knew the minute he closed his eyes he would be gone for a long time, but then he heard a hard, hoarse, and pained voice sound,
"Come".
"Come," the voice said, making Kruxe look in the direction of the source, and when he saw Blaun still sitting in the same position but now having his eyes open and looking at him, he began crawling toward the man.
With all the chaos, uncertainties, and his inability to clearly think, Kruxe was truly scared at the moment, and seeing a familiar and friendly face was like he had just seen a lifeline.
His hand trembled and he crawled, but he pushed on, by the time he was two steps away from the man, his hands collapsed and Kruxe fell face-first into the torn chest of a dead man.
Perhaps another day Kruxe would have felt disgusted, but at that moment, only his goal to reach Blaun filled his mind.
He wiggled for a bit in the dead man's innards, not minding that he swallowed a bit of the man's blood.
A second later he pushed every single bit of strength that had into his hands and then pushed himself forward, desperately covering the distance between him and Blaun.
"Blaun' Kruxe choked with moist eyes as he reached the man and in the end crashed into his chest, his weak arms unable to stop the frenzied dash he had initiated.
"My head" Kruxe internally groaned his figure lying and twisting on Blaun's lap, but before he could grieve any further, Kruxe felt something powdery be poured on his face.
"Don't die"
"Be calm"
"Don't hesitate"
"Run"
These were the words Kruxe heard Bluan mutter as his eyes closed and his consciousness faded away.
