Chapter 23 - The Beginning of the Conspiracy II

Seeing Orcanus sitting in front of him, Takeru paused his work and immediately focused on the middle-aged man from Russia.

"Have you started adapting to the new environment?" Takeru chose to start with a light question to ease the atmosphere before delving into the heart of the conversation. A warm smile adorned his face, reflecting his friendly demeanor.

Orcanus nodded slowly. "Hmm... The air here is much cleaner than on Earth, and I feel this place is not bad, even good," he replied.

Takeru nodded in response, clasping his hands together on the table. "I'm glad you're feeling comfortable here," he said sincerely. Once their moods had calmed down enough, Takeru shifted to the main topic of conversation.

"Canus," Takeru called out briefly, using the familiar nickname. Orcanus, without objection, actually felt pleased and confident, feeling that Takeru had grown closer to him and trusted him.

"Yes, sir," Orcanus replied respectfully.

"As a man who has the potential to become the President of Russia, as well as a senior politician and former Russian Navy Admiral, I'd like to hear your opinion on our current shortcomings," Takeru said without hiding his intentions.

Canus listened to his master seriously, understanding the essence of Takeru's question. At that moment, Orcanus became sharp and focused, with a characteristic gaze that even impressed Takeru.

"If I may, are you talking about our current food supply?" Canus asked seriously, indicating that he had grasped the essence of Takeru's question and was ready to give his response.

With a serious and thoughtful look, Orcanus carefully responded to Takeru's question about food supplies. "Food supply is one of several major issues we must address at the moment. We need to increase food production and distribution to effectively meet the needs of the population. Additionally, we also need to pay attention to food price stability to prevent market fluctuations that could be detrimental."

Takeru nodded, appreciating Orcanus's intelligent and careful analysis of the situation. This was one of the reasons why he chose Orcanus to be part of his team. With his extensive political experience and understanding, Orcanus could provide valuable insights to tackle complex challenges.

However, behind his intelligence, Takeru also realized that Orcanus was a dangerous man. Orcanus's backstory, noting that he was closely monitored by the Pentagon and NATO, added a new dimension to his character, indicating that Orcanus was a figure with significant influence in international politics and military.

In Takeru's mind, he contemplated the implications of Orcanus's presence on his team, realizing that the decision to invite him to join was the right choice for him, who was very inexperienced in political matters. Although Orcanus needed to be wary as a potentially dangerous individual, his presence brought great benefits to the smooth running of their mission, especially in dealing with complex political challenges.

Takeru also realized that Orcanus needed to be wary as a potentially dangerous individual, but thanks to the help of the artifacts he had created, Takeru had full control over Orcanus. The artifacts were specifically designed to prevent Orcanus from betraying Takeru or taking actions detrimental to the team.

"Sir, we currently have at least 600 people, and with our current needs, we can only sustain ourselves for one week. With your valuable abilities, it's a pity if they're only used to increase supplies. Therefore, you can mine materials around this forest to cover those needs," Orcanus explained, making Takeru feel both impressed and surprised by his intention.

"Of course, I'll show you," Takeru replied, nodding. With a quick movement, he took out the map he had bought from the city of Midgard before they entered the Britanica fog forest. Carefully, he placed the map on the table in front of Canus.

Canus carefully examined the map, his eyes following the lines and markings printed on it. With a serious expression, he analyzed every detail, trying to understand the geographical conditions and available resources around the fog forest.

Takeru watched with keen interest as Canus studied the map. He felt relieved to see Canus's seriousness in analyzing the information. After a few moments, Canus pointed to one of the places depicted on the map. It was a small town that was the main producer of food supplies to the capital. The town was adjacent to the Holy Empire of Midgard, namely the Grass Kingdom.

Takeru nodded along with Canus's explanation. "That town does indeed play a crucial role in our food supply. We need to ensure that our relationship with the Grass Kingdom remains good to maintain that supply."

Takeru looked at Canus seriously. "I agree. However..." He did agree with Canus's opinion, but he was aware that Britanica was a new country that had not been internationally recognized. In Takeru's view, a crucial requirement for Britancia to be recognized as a legitimate country was to have a population of over 1,000 people. However, at the moment, their country was still below that target. Additionally, they also needed official recognition from other kingdoms or countries.

Seeing his master's concern, Canus suggested something. "Indeed, if we need that town to meet our food needs, I realize that we are not ready to face the world with our current conditions. It might be better for us to stay hidden inside the fog forest." Canus's wise words made Takeru silent, realizing the truth of his words.

Takeru nodded slowly, appreciating the advice given by his experienced subordinate. "You're right, Canus. We have to remain cautious and not rush into action. Although we're not ready, we still need to meet our food needs..." The young man's fingers continued to tap on the table, and he stopped when he looked at Canus seriously. "Do you have any other suggestions?" Asking for another suggestion because Takeru knew that there was not only one way to meet the food supply.

Canus thought for a moment and replied. "Yes, but it's a bit extreme..." He said, piquing curiosity.

"What?" Takeru adjusted his posture to stand upright and wondered because he didn't catch Canus's meaning.

With the corner of his mouth, Canus, who had a thin mustache and beard, smiled slightly and his eyes showed a dangerous glint. "Conspiracy."

Takeru looked at Canus with surprise, carefully digesting the words spoken by his experienced subordinate. The idea of a "conspiracy" proposed by Canus sounded quite bold, perhaps even somewhat extreme. However, Takeru also realized that their situation indeed required unconventional solutions.

"Conspiracy..." Takeru murmured, pondering the implications of the suggestion. He knew that such a step would not be easy to take and could potentially cause bigger problems if revealed. However, at the same time, he also recognized that in times of emergency, extreme measures were often necessary.

"Do you have a concrete plan?" Takeru asked, his eyes sharp as they focused on Canus, awaiting the answer from his experienced subordinate.
