5 months later…
I stood there with the rest of the groups I considered power tanks and stairs to climb up to the top. I held my true feelings and decided to play as the quiet person, waiting to sink my claws in the group with a big smile on my face. The reason why? simple, I grew power hungry. The ability to grow stronger the more stronger my opponent is was very exciting and I did nothing but none stop training, gaining an inhuman amount of stamina. As of now I was face to face with the same girl I met a few months ago during my first introduction. Her name was apparently Maria and she was the old man's granddaughter. She was a hothead and arrogant due to her possessing an immense level of strength that could be feared by even a few legendary heroes.
The old man waved his hand as a sign to begin the match and we both flew towards each other as the physical reality could not register our speed and when it did, a echoing boom thundered through the skies as both me and her moved at high speed. Clashing in the middle, I pushed off of her and attempted a roundhouse kick which was blocked and was met with a straight high kick to the side of the head which I ducked and attempted to leg sweep but she jumped back slightly and attempted to throw a knife in my face.
My eyes widened a bit as I narrowly dodged the knife, causing it to make a thin line of blood which healed quickly, releasing steam as it did. During the moment of healing, I had rushed Maria and delivered a swift two jab combo chained into a knee strike as she reflected both jabs and met my knee with her knee. I slid back a bit as she stepped forward into my range and I swiftly leant forward a bit dodging a straight jab and striking her in the rib which caused her to stumble to the side. I continued my onslaught by performing a hook to her chin, forcing her head to tilt at a 20 degree. He then spun and attempted to drive an elbow strike straight into her nose to which she quickly recovered, backpedaling as the strike narrowly missed.
"Alright kid, you're tough. No one that just joins can keep up with me at 4%. Let's kick it up a bit shall we."
Maria said as he was suddenly crouched underneath me, bypassing my outstretched elbow and slamming her palm into my stomach. I gritted my teeth and stumbled back a few times as I was launched into a tree like a projectile, slamming through it as it fell in a random direction, causing a large boom to echo through the air. I landed with a thud and a slight skid, my clothes were ripped and blood leaked down my back. I struggled lifting myself up until the sound of that bell rung through my head and I felt my power rejuvenate instantly.
Maria watched as I rapidly healed from the attack and dashed forward, maxing out at around 120 mph. Maria chuckled at the speed and as I closed in she swiftly grasped my ar driving her knee into my stomach causing me to have a coughing fit. I quickly straightened myself up despite the strong solid strike and lashed out a front snap kick.
Maria was surprised by how long the fight was lasting and decided to end it quickly. Slingshotting her power up to 10%, she grabbed my foot with ease and threw me off balance, quickly swiping my feet from under me and landing a solid side kick into my stomach, launching me through the air. I coughed up a bit of blood as I slammed into the ground, skidding across the surface and coming to a stop. The ground was practically destroyed due to the strength behind the combo. I slowly stood up, using my will power alone to continue the fight due to the sole reason of not wanting to lose.
I clenched my fist as my body began to slowly heal continuously. I dashed forward, ignoring the pain and so did Maria who blurred from physical view but I did not let that deter me. Using my survival instincts and awareness, I waited as Maria appeared on the side of me which I felt the displacement of the air around me. I quickly spun and started with an Elbow strike to which she parried and lashed out with a back fist which landed. She attempted to chain the first attack but I recovered faster than she expected and I blocked the 2 swift kicks which sent me skidding back a hundred meters. Steam rose up from my arm as it began to heal but Maria shot forward and I felt a sharp pain on the side of my head, then on the left side of my rib then the right. My vision darkened a bit as I then saw Maria standing in front of me.
"Good fight…I'll challenge you again when I get stronger"
I said as she landed an axe kick which sent my head to the ground, rendering me unconscious.
Flashback…
"So you can adapt to anything the moment it interacts with your being?…that's quite interesting."
A man in a lab coat said to me as I swung my legs back and forth as the man was checking me, which I assumed was a doctor.
"Yup. It started when I was young and now it just get's stronger"
I said with a smile as the doctor nodded at my words, writing something down in the journal as he then grabbed a needle and injected me with something, causing me to become unconscious.
Present moment…
My eyes slowly drifted open as I looked around, noticing I was in my temporary room that I was in when I first arrived. I stood up and sighed, standing up and looking at the mirror hanging on the back of the door. In the mirror looked back amethyst eyes that had the wheel of adaptation as the pupil. I then left the room, walking towards the main parts of the large building.
"I need a mission. Preferably a 3rd tier."
I said to a girl behind a counter with paper of various missions. She handed me one that was labeled 'Gather a pair of Dragon wings' and I lightly sighed and took it. Since everyone found out he could adapt to everything, he was sent on more dangerous tier mission as a way to train and get stronger plus more funding for them since other business would want him.
"Thank you."
I said as I left the building, venturing towards the location I was destined to arrive at.
Meanwhile…
At my new home, the grandfather of the godlike children were discussing things about me unbeknownst to me of course.
"What do you kids think of him so far?. Do you think he could be the key to the war?."
Asked the grandfather as most of the other children pondered until Maria spoke up.
"I dont think he's human. He doesn't express the full emotions of a human and is a dependent fighter. I do think he's the perfect key for the war though. Other than that I don't particularly like him, and when we're done we could kill him…"
Maria said as she pondered her thought, knowing it would be nearly impossible to kill me unless she start off at full power but she had a feeling by the time they initiatied the plan, he would be far to strong to simply just kill.
"Mmm. I see. And everyone else here agree with Maria?"
The grandfather asked to which everyone nodded though of course their was a few who voiced their opinions which were noted. The grandfather chuckled at the kids and finally, he gave an answer to his own question.
"I see great potential in him. He has been through a lot of hardship in his life and that was only just the beginning. My answer will depend on if he can survive the first trial…"
The grandfather said as he looked up in the sky, staring at the clouds aimlessly soon around the earth in their circular path.
Present…
A loud sneezed escaped from my mouth as I rubbed my nose, wondering if someone was talking about me but soon after I shook it off, preparing myself for the battle of my life. I was told to come get the mission by my grandfather which I didn't think nothing of it since he knew what he was doing. As I continued walking, a stream of flames attempted to wash over me but I backpedaled quickly, gaining some good distance to be outside of the heat range of the attack. Glancing towards where the attack came from I saw a quite large dragon with purple and black scales. The Dragon shrunk in size and soon shifted into what could only be described as a humanoid dragon.
I immediately rushed forward with no words exchange, flashing in front of the humanoid dragon and sending a powerful straight punch towards the gut but it was effortlessly blocked by the dragon who slid back a bit. A small bell rang through my head as I felt my strength increase by 2. I then sent another one which skidded the dragon back a bit and another bell rung through my head but this time it was a little louder and I felt a boost in my strength, increasing by 6. I swiftly stepped forward, not giving the human-dragon time to retaliate, launching out 5 fast palm strikes towards the chest that was blocked but caused the dragon-human to widen his eyes a bit, figuring out that I was adapting to his durability.
The man-dragon who I indentified as 'Lloyd' on the mission paper, swiftly launched a sphere of fire that I easily maneuvered and pointed a finger gun at him. A bolt of electricity zoomed out and streaked across the air at high speed that most couldn't keep up with but Lloyd was different. Lloyd took the brunt of the attack as steam rose from his body and as it cleared, he was unharmed. I sighed a bit and dashed forward then quickly leapt to the side towards a tree, using its surface to launch myself towards Lloyd faster, cutting the distance in half quick.
"Allow me to teach you a bit of electricity."
I said as I closed my fist, allowing the electricity to flow freely through my arm to which I amplified the speed which in turn increased its electromagnetic field.
"Magnetism and Electricity is the same. Like an electron that is stationary has an electric field, during its movement it produces a magnetic field."
I said as I continued to amplify the electricity flowing around my around, causing severe burns to form but it was canceled out by my regenerative nature. The sound of a bell rung through my head as I lifted my hand in the air which in turn the electricity shot out in 'random' directions and hit the ground. Instantly, 6 boulders was ripped from the ground as they gained an electromagnetic charge due to me increasing the small field it had via electricity.
"Enough talking-"
Lloyd was saying as he was tired of hearing me speak about the ability I was in the process of using but was caught off guard as his side was slammed with a boulder, causing him to fold over the boulder and be launched with it.
"I wasn't done…now. This can be combined into what I call the electromagnetic field which everything contains one, small or not. I can attract and repulse things and so much more"
I said as Lloyd flexed his obliques which obliterated the boulder, allowing him to recover as his body healed from the slight bruise which shocked him. He quickly launched himself at me and grabbed me by my face but at the same time, I placed my palm on his chest and he was launched back instantly, slamming into various trees and animals.
"Like that."
I said as Lloyd stood up slowly with an enraged expression.
"I'll kill you and bring you to your knees.."
He said as an immense aura washed over me, causing me to buckle a bit as I continued to stare down Lloyd, who stared me down.
