Once I heard Maicol's story, I knew that my chances of growth in this difficult world had increased, partly because I understood that the villagers I summoned were all like Maicol, and knowing the game, I believed so. Then they would all be competent warriors or fighters, considering everything they might face.
From Zombies, Skeletons, Spiders, Looters, Creepers, Wither Skeletons, Wanderers, Witches, Slimes, Evokers, Vindicators, Shulkes, Zoglin, and the list goes on and on, come to think of it, Asoiaf is a paradise compared to Minecraft, and if Maicol lived in a world like that and had to survive fighting every night, then he must be a good fighter.
"OK, this world is a little less complicated than your previous world, but that doesn't take away the fact that it's still dangerous, so I ask you not to go so far away, and don't look for trouble, at least not until you feel good in this place, got it?"
"Yes, my creator," Maicol answered me.
"Forget creator; call me Khal, okay? Also, my experience and knowledge of fighting and battle are null, so I would appreciate it if you could train me in that. Do you feel capable of doing it?" I told him, that while I could ask my blood riders or another Dothraki to train me, I knew that would be seen as a weakness, especially because they would see I was not so good with weapons, something that in a society like the Dothraki, where strength was what they respected, would make me look like a weak Khal.
Maicol, accepting my words, nodded. "Yes, my Khal, I can do it, be it swords, axes, or even bows. I am very knowledgeable, however; what I succeed at most is blacksmithing, my Khal. If you give me the necessary materials and a good place to do my craft, I will give you the best weapons you can have."
Determined to see for myself, I told him to follow me, though before I left, I pulled out a regeneration potion and offered it to him: "A regeneration potion will help you with your missing eye, though I don't know if you want it."
Maicol just stared at me sincerely and gratefully, as he took the potion and ingested it without thinking: "You are very kind, my Khal; potions of this type are very expensive; even if they were bought from the witches, they cost a fortune; you have my thanks."
I just stood watching as Maicol removed his left eye patch, revealing a completely healthy green eye. Nodding to Maicol, I told him to go on.
As we left the hut, I watched as my blood riders were still in the same spot where I had left them; only they had looked for stools to sit on while they waited for me. "Alright, I took my time. Meet Maicol; he will be my blacksmith, who will be in charge of helping us provide every weapon we need. Get familiar with him, as he will have assistants very soon."
With Amanda relaying my words, I watched as my blood riders greeted Maicol, albeit in a cold and gruff manner; they didn't much like strangers.
Determined to see Maicol's work, I went to a place a little away from my hut, so that when Maicol worked, I would not be disturbed by the noise. Then, without further delay, I began to build a somewhat large smithy, about two thousand square meters approximately, with a high roof and several hatches in the roof so that the smoke and heat could be taken out through there, at the same time that they could be closed when it rained.
I placed more than three dozen melting furnaces, two dozen anvils, several sharpening stones, some tables of enchantments, and several shelves full of enchanted books in a secluded part, besides leaving another space near the furnaces where I left a small mountain of coal, and in a part that I gave it to use as a warehouse, I left several chests full of ingots of netherite, copper, iron and even gold.
When I finished the large smithy that now towered over the dry land, I saw how Maicol was practically about to jump into the establishment, so without making him suffer anymore, I gave him permission to explore the place and get acquainted with it.
"May I see your work now? I would like you to make new weapons for my blood riders; they use a weapon called arakh" I said to Maicol as I walked with him around the place.
Ordering to borrow an arakh from them, Onno gave me his, a large curved weapon similar to a Khopesh, being a bit heavy.
Passing the arakh to Maicol, he watched it for a long time, analyzing its handle, occasionally resting his palm on the blade, and even going so far as to rest his ear on the blade—a bit strange, to be honest.
"I can do it, my Khal; give me a couple of hours, and you will have eight arakh in your possession. What material do I use?" Maicol told me once he finished analyzing the weapon and giving it back to me.
Handing it back to Onno who took it as if grabbing his precious, I focused on Maicol: "Make them netherite; just don't cast enchantments on them yet, just the weapon in its normal form; besides, I'm also ordering you eight whips." I told him, while at the same time handing him the key to the smithy and the warehouse.
"Alright, my Khal, I'll get to work right away; I won't let you down," Maicol told me enthusiastically and then practically ran to the warehouse where the chests were kept.
With that ready, I left the smithy and started to walk towards where the celebration would be held, a place that was being occupied by women of the Khalasar who were carrying large jars of what I supposed were alcohol, at the same time that men were carrying large quantities of marinated meat ready to be cooked with the help of a support.
Just seeing all that, a sense of peace and tranquility filled me, and well, I loved my past life, especially since I had accomplished everything I had set out to do, but now faced with all this, with all the opportunities and endless possibilities in front of me, it captivated me; it gave me freedom.
Freedom....
'Oh, I hadn't remembered that' Flying!.... for all I had been through, I hadn't remembered that in the game a could fly, and while he could do so with Elytas and pyrotechnic games, I was referring to the player's actual ability to fly.
With that thought, I entered the Minecraft menu, but I was disappointed, and that was that I did not see the key anywhere with which the player commonly pressed to fly, even after searching through the menu.
But... What if I didn't have to press anything? What if it was instinct? So, I closed the menu and focused on wanting to fly... And well, nothing happened. I practically looked like a fool, just like Ignacio de Nacho.
But determined to succeed, I kept on with the feeling of wanting to fly, to feel the wind on my face and the sensation of weightlessness, and just like before, it didn't work, or so I thought, until I felt that my feet didn't touch the ground and, looking down, I could see that I was at least two meters above the ground.
"Wow" I got excited by the feeling, and it was a mistake since I lost my concentration and fell face-first into the ground.
But it had worked, and even under the surprised and mole-fearful looks of the Dothraki around me, I tried again, this time being faster in leaving the ground behind. Once I felt safe with the feeling, I wanted to go higher, and as if a hidden power were awakened, I took off into the sky, with my hair moving because of the wind hitting me. It was intoxicating and spectacular.
For once in my life... In the second, I felt free.
