This is the day when my mom will teach me how to use my magic. It's been three days since Alexis came into our house. Anyways, I just learned that a spellcaster needs a lot of Mana.
Mana is the start of all power. It's is the scale on how much power you can release. Without it, you can't do any magic.
"Just imagine a jar and water. The jar represents you while the water is your Mana. If it's full, then you'll have sufficient power but it will also eventually reduced and become empty. People have different quantities or how much Mana they have inside them. Just like a jar, the jar comes of different sizes and shape, like the uniqueness of every magicians," mom explained.
Mana is essential especially in magic, so mana quantity is important to a magician. Mom also said that a spellcaster needs to acquire a grimoire. The grimoire is a book-like figure that contains all the spells that a spellcasters made themselves.
Looks like I need to work hard for that grimoire, mom said that the grimoire is acquired not received.
"Listen carefully, Adel. Spells are hard to acquire rather than grimoire. When you already have your own spell, your grimoire will follow. The more spell you have, the more powerful you've become. But, you will also remember that spells is the only thing you have to survive in battle. You must know the possibilities and limits of your spells as well as your strength and weaknesses." Mom also explained
Mom said that the power of spellcasters are limited but powerful. Spellcasters are rare magicians because they can have two or more magic affinity than a normal magicians. Normal magicians and also called 'wizards' are usually using one affinity. Magic affinities are fire, water, air, earth and many more. Wizards don't have a grimoire since their spells are most limited than spellcasters.
For example, a wizard have a water affinity, and she can only use water spells while spellcasters, on the other hand, can use water, air or fire simultaneously according to their power.
Mom also explain the abilities that a person can have. When a person successfully controls her mana, she will then release an aura. An aura is a visible energy that gives a person a supernatural power. It enhances the skills of every magicians. And also, a magicians only acquired one type of aura.
There are four types of Auras; Taira, Genra, Ninra and Elera. Taira is an enhanced aura that strengthen a magician's body. It is the most common type of aura. Mom is a Taira user. She trained her body that makes her body a steel-type structure. When she was in a war, arrows can't scratch her and a normal sword will break if you strike it to her. That is a power of a Taira user. But Taira user can only strengthen herself, it can't strengthen someone or something.
Second is Genra. Genra is an enhanced aura that used to trick someone's eyes, or it can make a person hallucinate. A Genra user must have a greater imagination, it can also used for mental torturing. Only rare people have a Genra ability. The power of it relies on a user's mental stability, when a user is mentally unstable, the magic that the user's used will strike back to him instead of the enemy. It is called "Boomerang effect". Father is a Genra user, beside of Mon's ability in his eyes, he can create his own space to attack his opponents mentally.
A space is a virtual place that a person's imagination creates. It is used by Genra users.
Third is Ninra, it is an enhanced aura that manipulates the things that the user wanted to. Levitation, Beast taming, and Psychics are related to this aura. Several magicians has this aura type and it's quite useful. Not only that you can control the things in your surroundings but you can take advantage of the distance given. But the user can manipulate anything but not himself. Neron and Arthur are Ninra users.
And lastly, the Elera. Elera is an enhanced aura that controls magic affinities such as fire, water, air, earth and etc. 1 out of 200 are born with this ability except for the Royal family. All the royals are Elera users. This aura type is rarest of the rarest. Wizards are the common Elera user while spellcasters are not widely known.
So I'm an Elera type and is categorized as a spellcaster. I don't know how mom will help me train my magic but her smile is more than enough to know her confidence.
"Adel, I want you to feel your mana presence inside you. You will learn how to release an aura."
While I'm in a crisscross seat, I closed my eyes and start to focus on breathing. I need to know where my Mana presence is. I took a several deep breath and calm myself. Later on, I found myself in an empty space with a big light in my front.
So this is.. my mana presence?
I walk slowly to take a closer look and reach my hand to the light. As soon as my hand touch the light, the light spread to the dark and empty space. I suddenly opened my eyes and I was surprised when my hands are glowing. No, my whole body is glowing!
"The glowing thing in your body is your aura." said mom
Woahhh..
I observed every corner in my body to clearly see my aura. I was amazed when my aura is color gold.
So this is my aura, it looks powerful!
I smiled to my mom and she smiled too. She looked at her hands and I was amazed when her hands glows in a golden aura too. Now I realized that we have different colors of Auras according to the user. The duke has a dark red scary aura that he releases to intimidate people.
"Watch me,"
Mom began to prepare her stance. There was a tree log in her front and with aura in her hands, she punched the log and I was amazed when the log is pulverized.
What a strong power! The log is thick but she managed to pulverized it, if it was a person then that punch would surely blow up a body of a person. Scary but cool power, mom is so cool!
"It is not necessarily that you will use your aura in your whole body when releasing it. Now that you know how to release your aura, you should use your aura according to your aura type like I do. I focus my aura to my hands and it gives me a power to pulverized the log. Now it's your turn." She said.
I'm an Elera type so I have to use my aura to create either fire, water and many more.
"Target that log next to the log that I've attacked earlier. And when you manage to create a spell, your grimoire will appear."
Once again I took a deep breath and start to focus my aura. A strong wind blows and my hair was moved by it. It gave me an idea to use a wind type spell. But what should I do with wind? How can it attack?
A suddenly think of a sword. A sword can cut things and that made me and idea, wind is not visible but sword is. If I use a wind spell with the attack of a sword, how powerful it can be? That's right! An attack that cannot be seen is surely powerful.
I opened my eyes and grin.
Ivellina, this is for you.
"Wind sword strike!" I chanted.
My aura created a wind slash and is proceeding to the log target in a great speed. My mom is shocked when she saw it. But, I was dismayed when the attack reached the log but the log remain unscratched.
Whyy? I thought it's gonna be a powerful one!
"That was impressive! Don't worry dear, it is only the beginning. Acquiring the first spell is the hardest one. But that spell you created is powerful if it's polished. Today's training is over. You can now do whatever you want." Mom uttered.
That's right, if I managed to perfect this spell it is formidable. Man, I didn't expect this to be tougher.
"Mom, is it alright for me to know how to wield a sword?" I asked.
Her eyes sparkled as soon as she heard it.
"W-Why do say so?" She said while blushing.
"Hmm, my spell 'Wind sword strike' is inspired to a sword strike. So I think if I master sword, I will master the spell and acquire the grimoire." I answered.
"That's right! Don't worry, I'm more than willing teach you," she said in sparkling eyes.
Yes, it's obvious in your eyes mom.
"We will start tomorrow! And wielding a sword is not simple, it can leave a bruise and scars in your hands. Are you willing to continue?"
"Yes mom! "
I don't care about bruises and scars, I only need to acquire more power so that I can protect mom and Lina soon. In th past, I am not interested in acquiring power. But with me learning how to use magic and sword, no one will lay a finger to them. Especially the duke and Ivellina. Even when Ivellina uses her bloodlust eyes to me, I will remain formidable. That is my goal.
"Then, prepare yourself tomorrow," she said and left the training grounds.

When Adelaide decides to go back to her room, she doesn't noticed the log that is perfectly cuts in half. The attack is invisible and not easily determined in seconds. That being said, it is scary since if the Wind Sword strike hits your arm, you will not see it and know it immediately. You will only notice it if your arm is already cut.
