Chapter 11 - A life without purpose

All of a sudden as the group re-entered the field, a cry of surprise and horror rang out in the group when the last individual, barely back in hiding, was brutally taken by a massive language that kidnapped him inside and dragged him outside. It was the Vorak, the dreaded sand worm, which had arisen from nowhere, feeding on the opportunity offered by the opening of the trap.

Panic seized the group as they watched helplessly this terrifying scene. They quickly understood the imminent danger and the need to find a way to protect themselves. Arion, responding calmly despite the urgency of the situation, quickly assembled the group.

'We must act quickly. The Vorak is a formidable threat, but we cannot afford to remain paralyzed by fear. Follow me, and let's stay together."

Without losing a moment, the group moved, making their way through the underground labyrinth in search of a safe shelter. Their progress was fast but careful, avoiding traps and dangerous passages in their quest for safety.

As they advanced, they heard the roar of the Vorak resonating in the depths of the underground, a constant reminder of the threat that pursued them. The situation was critical, but they clung to the hope of finding refuge before it was too late.

Finally, after a frantic run through the dark tunnels, the group discovered an underground chamber large enough to shelter them temporarily. They barricaded themselves inside, hoping that this would be enough to protect them from Vorak attacks.

The minutes seemed to stretch in anguishing expectation. The Vorak, still on the lookout outside, continued to pose an imminent threat.

In the oppressive darkness of the underground chamber, anguish and sorrow weighed heavily on the group. Alice, upset by the loss of their comrade, felt discouragement settle in her. The other members of the group were also touched, their faces marked by sadness and fear.

Arion, aware of the urgent need for comfort and support, spoke in a calm but firm voice. "Listen to me, my friends. We face a difficult test, but we must not let fear and grief overwhelm us. We are a team, and together we can get through this."

He paused, letting his words resonate in the darkness. Then he continued: "The discovery of this underground is not the result of chance. Each of us has been called here for a reason. We need to support each other and stay focused on our common goal. '

His words seemed to inject a glimmer of hope into the hearts of his companions in misfortune. Alice slowly lifted her head, her eyes filled with determination. "You're right, father. We can't give up now. The loss of our comrade will not be in vain. We must honour his memory by continuing our quest."

The other members of the group nodded in agreement, rallying to the determination of Arion and Alice. Despite the pain of their loss, they recovered, finding comfort in the solidarity of their team.

Guided by Arion's wisdom and leadership, the group prepared to face the challenges ahead with courage and resolve. They knew their journey was far from over, and that each step was an opportunity to grow and get closer to their ultimate goal.
