Chapter 10 - HOLD IN JUDGMENT

Chapter Ten

Caroline.

I have two more of them." She said proudly, my eyes widened. I do not like that one beat, but I know most students keep rich older men to get through school, reasons I kept my judgment only to myself.

She waited for me to say something, but when I didn't, she sighed.

Didn't she sigh?

"I know that is overdoing it, but I need the money.", she said, moving off me.

"Come on, let's go get dressed. You know Phillip said we should not keep him waiting," I said, bringing her attention back to me.

She weaved what I said off with, "Don't worry, he will wait." Yet she walked toward her closet, motioning for me to join her.

We were both dressed in gowns. Safarat wore a pink baby lace mini gown, and I wore a blue one that mirrored her length and style.

Both gowns belonged to her, and she said she was only borrowing me for the night, which I accepted gratefully.

We exited the room to see Chief Phillip was asleep on her couch. Safarat woke him up rudely. Chief apologised for falling asleep and complimented her dress before leading us out of the house.

I looked up as the bell rang, indicating the entrance.

I stood up from my desk, and my mouth almost dropped to the floor as I

looked at the demi-god standing at the door; he was flawless.

He stood by the door and paused, but the instant his eyes met mine, he smiled and walked in boldly.

"Hello," he greeted. "Get a grip." I quickly scolded myself.

Most men who visit the flower shop are either married or have a serious relationship, so it would be heart-crushing to crush on them.

"Welcome, sir. How may I help you?" I asked quickly.

He looked around briefly, but then his eyes came back to mine.

"By giving me, you." He purrs, and my heart stops. That voice did something to me inside.

It comes to me like something from my dreams, but I can boldly say I have not seen this man before, for I am sure a god had never graced me with his appearance until now.

I looked around panicky, and he laughed out loud. "Just joking, but I got you. That means you are open to a date." I swallowed my drawl.

"As much as I and most women would love to, I know someone brought you here, so how will you love to dazzle the very special one," I said, smiling to hide how much I would have loved to take up his offer.

I am always a sucker for good looks. God knows. He frowned and looked away. I wondered why. Possibly, no one had said no to him before. That was a good thing. I would be his first. Anyway, I have a business to run.

"So what will you like? I asked, bringing out the catalogue. He took it from me without saying another word and went from page one to the end, then looked up.

" You see, I am not used to buying flowers. I take my dates out and spend, but this person is not my date. I thought flowers should do. Someone recommended your shop to me so I came.

Looking unsure, he continued. "You see, my darling, I am at a loss here as I do not know what flower to give. These flowers here are all romantic. I wouldn't want her to have any idea."

He finished looking at me, his eyes giving a message I could not read.

"Let me ask, why do you want to give her a flower?" I asked frantically

" She has been a very supportive P.A., and it is her birthday," he answered back

"Ok, then I can work with that. What is your budget?" I asked. He pulsed for some minutes, then said.

"Will half a million be okay? If not, I can add more."
