Chapter 19 - 19. The Runaway

"Screw that pinky promise! I need to leave!" Selina yelled. Without any plan, she dashed out of the hospital, forgetting that she was only wearing her hospital gown. Her mind was occupied with the thoughts of the bottles of alcohol neatly arranged in her dormitory.

Selina's body was shaking from the absence of her customary indulgence. The thoughts of waiting for Ally in the ER and meeting Albert later were out of the window. Her appetite for alcohol needed to be satisfied as her hands were trembling uncontrollably.

Throughout her entire conversation with Albert, her hands shook and she was completely distracted by the thought of booze.

The nurse who was behind her smiled sinisterly, looking at the deranged Selina running towards the exit, where two men were standing guard, ready to pound on her and drag her away.

Raymond, who was running to catch up, saw Selina sprinting in the opposite direction towards the exit. Attempting to close the gap, the nurse, who was accompanying Selina back to the room, hurried over to her. Raymond's eyes widened in surprised, but did not stop to follow them.

The exit door opened to reveal the visibly disturbed Selina in her patient gown covering her body, which had nothing underneath. She was immediately grabbed and carried inside a black Mercedes by two burly men as soon as they saw her.

For a brief moment, Selina was taken aback to find herself free for a split second before someone else grabbed her with brute force into an unknown vehicle. The nurse who was guiding her to her room initially entered the vehicle with her and said, "Boys! She made it easy for us! Let's go!" She grinned menacingly.

"You are not a nurse! Who are you?" Upon glancing at the woman dressed in a haphazard Halloween nurse costume, where the hem of the dress was just enough to cover her curves, she was wearing a sheer black pantyhose that flaunted her legs.

"Someone hired us to put you in place." The nurse sneered.

"Winona!" Selina spoke a little too loudly.

"She did ask you to prepare for someone who would come to collect you; I honestly did not expect you to cooperate and run in the right direction. I thought it would be difficult for us to lure you out of the hospital after our boss's warning. Who knew you were a total airhead?"

Once again, the nurse smiled disparagingly.

"You wait; you will be caught by law enforcement, for sure. Kidnapping me in front of the hospital is just waiting to be captured." Selina shot back, attempting to coerce the imposter nurse to be sensible and reverse the car so that she could be released.

"Aren't you dense? Who is going to find you? Besides, you were the one who ran off. So it was kind of your consent to enter the car." Selina felt a chill running down her spine as the nurse gave a malicious laugh.

"Let me out of here!" Selina yelled hysterically; she did not want to be captured and become a slave to Edith and Winona. She was desperate to free herself.

*Slapped*

"Do not try to escape and meddle with me, princess; you will hurt yourself even further. You are without identification and an extra set of clothes. Be a good girl and be quiet."

The sham of a nurse struck Selina hard in the face, marking the second slap she had had since the new year began.

Even though Selina kept her mouth shut, she kept staring menacingly at the nurse.

Selina immediately regretted leaving the hospital; her tears flowed profusely for she was out of her wits.

Once again, wishing that she could turn back in time, she stayed in her room on New Year's Eve. That definitely kept her out of trouble and kept her hidden, but it was too late to turn back now.

--------------------------------------------

Back in the hospital, when Raymond rushed to the exit, he only saw the black Mercedes rush out of it. Again, he was too late. He ran to his four-wheel truck and told the officer, who had been waiting for him outside to chase after the black Mercedes that had earlier taken off, "After that black Mercedes, quickly! A girl just got kidnapped!"

Raymond left a message to Albert, informing him of Selina's disappearance, and then he immediately called the precinct for backup.

--------------------------------------------

The Mercedes that took Selina drove towards an abandoned industrial site, where factories and warehouses lay in ruins.

Selina was quiet throughout the entire journey; instead, she was focused on the destination where the kidnappers took her. Once they reached their destination, the car door flung open, revealing one of the male kidnappers who was ready to carry Selina into the warehouse.

"You can't take me; bring me back to the hospital if you know what is best for you." Selina retorted; her tone was stern, but deep down she was trembling in fear.

The imposter nurse forcefully shoved Selina out of the car. She wasn't bracing for the brutal force that came pouncing behind her and she lost her balance and fell face first on the tarmac.

The man gave her a vicious kick right at her abdomen after she had unceremoniously fallen from grace again. Selina curled and wrapped her hands around her stomach to shield it from further assault.

"Why don't we have a little fun before we destroy her?" said the other man.

Even though she was trying to control her sobs, Selina couldn't let out a single cry and tried to bear the pain that she was experiencing. At times like this, she knew that if she talked back, it would only worsen her situation.

"No, our boss needs to talk to her; he is waiting inside right now. So, after he is done, he will decide what we do next." The impersonated nurse responded.

"Now bring her to the warehouse." She ordered once more.

As the two men held Selina, each held her by the arm. Her eyes squinted in agony from being forcefully stretched upright. She could not stand up, as the pain etched in her stomach. The men, without remorse, started to heave Selina as her feet dragged across the asphalt pavement.

The four of them entered the warehouse and proceeded to the dark chamber. Selina could not discern her environment. As she was thrust onto the chair, both hands and feet were bound to it.

Then she heard a familiar voice said, "Finally - "
