"That would be all, ma'am." A Fairy nodded to the elderly immigrant with a polite smile, as the paper that needed to be signed and filled out was indeed done.
"Thank you very much, young lady." The old lady smiled back.
"Now, if you go through the large door on the left, you will be met by a small line that will be left for you by the person in charge of verifying who enters the city. Show this paper and all your basic personal information, and you will be able to enter without problem. If you need to create an identification card, you can do so at the Civil Registry Headquarters once inside the city, and you will be able to enjoy all the advantages of being a citizen of Deorum Regnum." With that, the Fairy gave a slight bow to the old lady, and she only hummed.
"I see. Thank you very much, dear."
"A pleasure. Enjoy your stay."
With that, Rigrit Bers Caurau followed the directions so that she could not only continue to pass for an old traveler who only came out of curiosity, but to, indeed, enter her objective.
Deorum Regnum.
Currently, she was in the closest city to the Argland Council. According to the Fairy, or well, an extremely beautiful human according to Rigrit. who couldn't identify her due to the lack of visible racial characteristics, who attended to her, this city… 'Piedra del Sol'… Why was it called that? Well, according to the girl, there was one of the 5 great monuments of Deorum Regnum, here.
Of course, that in itself didn't make sense.
Deorum Regnum had been founded not even 1 year ago and they already had 5 monuments, walled cities, etc… It was impossible. Not even the Dragon Lords, forcing all the Citizens of the Argland Council, using their Wild Magic, their own strength, and so on, could build so damn fast.
Much less in a territory as massive as the Baharuth Empire was, which was apparently in ashes under the new marble stones of Deorum Regnum.
She wanted to question the receptionist, but she didn't want to seem suspicious.
Anyway, once she had completed the necessary procedures to enter the city... Well... Was she sure she wasn't in the capital...?
How could a border town be so beautiful...?
Literally everything was built with marble... Well, mostly.
The streets were paved with polished and shiny marble... White and perfect buildings... There was even a mansion also made of marble around a giant pyramid made with polished and perfect stone that seemed to shine in a divine aura, while a giant circular stone with a simple sun shape floated on top in a mystical way, really releasing rays of sunlight, but without making the city brighter than it normally is, only enhancing the pure beauty of the place...
This... Yep. It was impossible for them to have built it without anyone finding out, and in less than a year.
This monument… The Sunstone, Ocelotonatiuh… It was definitely an object that was not from this world, or at least it was a legendary artifact from far away lands that Rigrit had never seen.
She looked to her sides, seeing that there were very few people… 'Humans', and Demihumans…
Just that they lived together in peace.
Several shops could be seen, and how several merchants who were surely from Argland came and went. They were few, of course, but there were.
She understood that the Argland Council accepted an open trade agreement with the newly created marble nation, so it did not seem strange to her that the closest city to Argland, not a port, of course, was being visited by merchants.
She heard that they plan to make an agreement with the Mountain Giant Clan to be able to make a passage between the mountains to benefit the two nations in terms of trade, and at the same time, benefit the Giants by giving them a customs payment.
It was a pretty brilliant idea, really, though it remained to be seen whether the Mountain Giants would agree. Rigrit knew how stubborn and territorial they could be.
She sighed somewhat wearily, and began to walk.
She was going to make a false identity at this Civil Registry place so that she could freely go from city to city, and so on… She just hoped that this nation was as divine and kind as it seemed… And that it did not possess entities from 'that world', nor overly powerful objects from 'that world'.
…
"Así que estas son~ {So this is it~} Katze Plains~ This is where war will be, love~" The Demon Queen of Titania smiled with her hands on her hips as she showed her the desolate and gloomy desert place.
It wasn't impressive or pretty… It was an Undead meadow after all, and somewhat foggy.
Supposedly, the war would be held at a time where the fog wasn't so thick as to even prevent them from seeing the tip of the other. Anyway, Dont knew that there was a fortress made by Baharuth normally where they were now.
Of course, such a fortress was a pile of crap when they arrived after Baharuth's destruction, so they rebuilt it much sturdier and larger.
The units that would participate in the war, as well as Miia and Alucard, were already there.
And speaking of Alucard, he was with them as their bodyguard.
Black Abyss put an arm around Dont's waist, hugging her affectionately.
"Ha… They are fools… I gave them plenty of chances not to resort to war…" The Angel sighed as she patted Dont on the waist, disappointed in Re-Estize.
"Mo~ I know it bothers you that they are so stupid as to not see that you are the true and only light of the world, my love~ But don't worry~ They will learn~ They will regret rejecting my pretty little sunshine~" The Daemon chuckled, accepting the hug quite affectionately.
Alucard just smiled at the affection between the two Supremes.
Black Abyss sighed again, Barbossa was really being very clumsy with this… She knew that none of his soldiers could stand against her, and he doesn't know the power of Deorum Regnum, so he was taking a very foolish and desperate measure… Probably incited by the nobles anyway, and reinforced by Dont's plots. But Dont knew what Black Abyss thought about that, so her plots were just to incite war if there was no other way. It was probably full-blown war, or a much closer civil war than it would initially take…
But maybe… Maybe she could avoid so much death…
"What if we do a one-on-one fight? The two best warriors from each Kingdom. Whoever wins, gives victory to their Kingdom." Black Abyss said curiously to Dont, telling her the idea she had been thinking about for a while, bringing her closer, until she was leaning against her.
"Well… You can try it, love. I doubt the Re-Estize nobles would mostly accept it as a show of total military superiority anyway… For them it will just be a sign that the king's forces were weak, and a peasant is a peasant after all or something like that." Dont sighed, having no problem in indulging Black Abyss, but being honest about what she thought and what would surely happen.
"Still, King Barbossa trusts Gazef Stronoff, he might accept. No, he will definitely accept, Gazef will too. He also doesn't want his army to have so many casualties, as they are not even trained soldiers. I will kill Stronoff, and with that, many more lives will be saved." Black Abyss said with a smile, giving Dont a peck on the cheek.
"Mm~ Fine~ If any noble charges in on their own, we will consider it an independent offensive by that noble in 'honor of Gazef', and have their family's title stripped away. We will take the territory as an 'embassy' and a refuge and diplomacy zone with Re-Estize in addition to a formal embassy in the capital. Something like a colony, let's say." Dont smiled at the peck as she explained her idea. She respected what her little dove wanted, and even if the Demon inside Dont wanted to simply slaughter them all until there was not a single insect left alive, her little dove had more power over her~
"Thank you~ My love~" Black Abyss said smiling.
"Always~" The Demon Queen purred, before looking back at the Knight. "Right, Alucard. There is something I wanted to talk to you about. This concerns you as well, Black Abyss." She added.
"Hm~? About what, kitty~?" The supreme asked, giving her little kisses on the cheek. While Alucard looked somewhat curious about what the Queen was saying, but remained silent when he saw that Black Abyss herself asked her question for him.
"I was thinking of giving Alucard a little gift~" She smiled with some mischief and cunning pride.
Black Abyss just kept on kissing, so it was Alucard who had to speak.
"My Queen… Personally, I couldn't be happier with anything other than serving you. There's no need for you to waste your precious time and effort on a gift for me." He said, bowing in apology.
"Fu~ Don't worry, Alucard~ You served Titania very well all this time, and besides, it would be a waste to just leave it there, when it can be used to enhance Titania's ability~" The Demon Queen smiled.
At first, Dont had been afraid of Alucard. A knight with 500 karma and veeeery 'good' and 'upright' by his configuration. He could literally separate her neck from her shoulders in one move if she wasn't careful.
But well, over time, Dont understood, learned, and accepted Alucard. He was loyal beyond belief. He was the perfect knight. Well, she helped Jamon to make the knight background, and Dont used things like the Japanese way of the sword and the ideals of Arthurian knights, especially Lancelot… Ignoring the thing about betraying his king and friend, and sleeping with the queen, and then causing a huge mess where he killed tons of people…
Actually, if you think about it in a certain way, Alucard would be a male version of Black Abyss without the angelic pride and blind faith of Paladin… Well, a Paladin was exactly a knight but with divine magic and blind faith… Back to the topic… Why had she been so distrustful…? If you think about it that way, it wasn't a bad thing, it made her trust him even more.
Alucard was the main Commander, Jamon put him as something as important as Bachelory, and because of the love his creator had for him, he deserved to have something that belonged to him~
"You see, Alucard. Jamon, before leaving, left his equipment, just in case he didn't show up again. Instead, members like Habano or Belerick who didn't give their all." Dont started, somewhat neutral at the memory of such events. She wasn't happy about her friends' departure after all...
"I understand~" Black Abyss said, still snuggling up to Dont, going down and giving her little kisses on the neck.
"My Queen... I-I don't think I deserve to be able to wear the equipment of a Supreme..." Alucard said somewhat nervously, although he was still happy for the affection between the Supremes.
"Nonsense~ I'm sure Jamon would be more than happy to give you his armor~ Yours was made with a lot of power and such, but it's only Legendary level. Jamon's armor is Divine level, or well, 'Champion', and he had the same Classes as you basically, so it's optimized so that you can use it too with the addition of Jamon's ice abilities." Dont explained kindly.
And certainly, taking advantage of the divine equipment they had on Titania was a good way to optimize Alucard and other Commanders… Well, there wasn't much compatible equipment between guild members and NPCs. For example, Din Mandalore, the level 100 blacksmith, had a divine-level blacksmithing equipment that belonged to Juan∾, when his original equipment was relic-level and a couple of legendaries.
But of course, they couldn't give Ghøst's Book of One Thousand and One Pentagrams to Superbia for example, since although they were both summoners, Superbia didn't summon Demons.
Jamon had wanted to make Alucard's Divine-level armor, but he left it for other time with Juan while they focused resources on making Bulldoger's divine armor instead.
"Mh~ Maybe Jamon's sword-" Dont was interrupted by a deep kiss that Black Abyss began to give her out of nowhere, lasting for long seconds before it stopped.
"Sorry~ You can continue, love~" The Angel said, snuggling up to her again.
"Ah~ Mm~ Ejem~" She gasped a little lost, before clearing her throat and refocusing. "Jamon's sword should also be able to be useful to you~ I understand that you should be able to use two swords at the same time, albeit with a disadvantage, but you can alternate between the two weapons~ Your sword is already divine-level, but it is purely divine so to speak~ While Jamon's has 5 selectable elements~ By giving you training, you will easily be able to improve a lot~ By the way, we can give your previous armor to Sir Gerald when he reaches level 90. His armor is similar to yours, but at relic-level, since Gerald was only level 85." Dont finished explaining while stroking Black Abyss's head.
"B-But… S-Such important gifts… A-Are you sure it wouldn't be wasted on me…?" Alucard said, still not believing himself worthy of carrying anything the Supremes had said was theirs, much less that which his creator carried…
"Hmp~ Of course-" Dont was again interrupted by another kiss from Black Abyss, one longer and deeper than the last, but it eventually ended.
"Oops~" The Paladin said, returning to simply hugging the Demon Queen, who already looked slightly blushing as she melted like an ice cream in summer. "And don't worry Alucard~ Jamon made you in his image and likeness~ And he said that if one day there were no G.O.D.S members on Titania, you would be the king, and you should take his things~" Black Abyss explained, although not leaving her hug towards Dont. "Obviously there are still two members~ But he said it himself~ His equipment is the inheritance he leaves for you~" After finishing speaking, she gave another french kiss to the Queen of Titania, simply smiling at her afterward.
Dont just laughed between kisses, remembering when Jamon said that nonsense about the role once. But evidently, she gave him the thumbs up. Hypothetically, Alucard would be the perfect version of King Arthur, who while he was already such a decent king that his reign as such had no flaws, Alucard had the ambition of… Well, something. Jamon decided to keep it a secret after Dont explained to him that Arthur's kingdom fell mainly because he was a king without ambition. A king who only sought to be a good king by making the best decisions and that's it. Although it didn't exactly sound logical, that's how it was.
And when he had his first ambition, to find the Holy Grail, it was already too late, as everything collapsed around him. Morgan's stuff, Mordred, Lancelot, etc, etc.
Whatever it was… She knew that in Alucard's makeup was the will and ability to be an even better king than Dont ever would be… Sure, the Demon Queen inside Dont didn't like the idea at all, and rejected it, but well, at least, in essence, that was the truth. Jamon wrote that Alucard would be the best king that ever existed if he ever was…
A couple of Machiavellian ideas came to her head with that, how to make Alucard become king of Re-Estize or something, but she left them for another time.
When Black Abyss stopped kissing her, she only felt a firm grip on her ass cheeks, as well as seeing her licking her lips, before smiling angelically at her. How cute she was~ Doing such perverted things and then looking like the hottest little thing in existence~
"Well~ Once we finish with the planning, proper ground check, and so on, we will return to Titania and give you the armor~ Okay~?" She smiled at Alucard as Black Abyss sank between Dont's tits.
"Y-Yes! I have no words to explain my happiness!" Alucard said bowing deeply towards the Supremes. He was really happy, today had been too beautiful a day. Likewise, witnessing the pure love of the Supremes filled him with joy.
First of all, today he saw the Supreme's pet, it was a kind creature, very good at heart. Supposedly it was called a 'rabbit', whose name was Black Flower, it suited him well as it was such a friendly and kind rabbit.
Second, he found out that the Supremes were thinking of having children, he heard the Maids say it, they were all extremely excited. No, all of Titania was happy and glad for such beautiful news.
And third, in the infinite kindness of the Supremes, they were going to give him the equipment that his creator, King69Jamon, carried…
He was not only his creator, he was the image of what he wanted to become to protect Titania and the Supremes… He wanted to become as powerful as possible to serve them… To be a World Champion…
Maybe it was dreaming too much… But he was willing to do absolutely anything for the sake of Lady Dont-Say-My-Name and Lady Black Abyss•White Flower. And with their offspring on the way, he had to achieve it, to protect the third Supreme that he would have to take care of in the future.
His heart filled with conviction and he stood up, looking at the Supremes with a smile, Lady Dont now being carried in Lady Black Abyss's arms. It was so nice to see them like this~ Titania's future was assured~ And they could worship and adore them for a long time to come~ Eternally~
He just watched them whispering to each other while laughing tenderly. They must be telling each other loving jokes~
"You should start visiting me more often~ I miss you so much when you're not around~" The Paladin said softly giving her light kisses on the cheek.
"Nn~ But there's a lot of work lately~ I do it when I can, love~" Dont responded with a slight shiver, pressing her cheek against the Angel's lips.
"What if we do it together~? That way you can use my lap seat~ And I won't miss you so much~" She said, continuing with her kisses, closer to Dont's lips.
"Fu~ But you have things to do too~ And we can't be free all the time~" The Sniper purred.
"Mo… But we'll get the job done~ And then we'll have fun~ I want to be with you all day, love~" The Angel almost begged, now kissing the corner of the Demon's lips.
"Mm'key~ I'll allow it as a royal decree~ Jiji~" The Daemon laughed cutely, capable of destroying countries with disturbing ease despite her current cuteness.
"Ah~ I love you so much~" Black Abyss let out, now starting to kiss her passionately.
"Nn~ I love you so much more~" She purred again between kisses as she caressed the Paladin's back.
The kiss lasted for quite a while, until Black Abyss cut it off, asking the Demon.
"Can you come to my room tonight~?" The Angel said, pressing her against her and squeezing one of the Demon's thighs.
"Mm~ Of course, my little dove~" She chuckled, hugging the Paladin close, while Dont mentally prepared herself for the formal annoyances of the field and the war.
…
Cecilion walked for the 104th time down the hall, carefully and attentively checking that every coin, every jewel, every object, and every data crystal was in its place, shiny and perfect.
He was Count Wivernia. He was personally created by 4 Supreme Lords, and charged with the protection, security, and care of Titania's absolute and perfect treasure.
Sure, he was just a small distraction for high-level opponents, but he was tough enough to hold his own and support the true guardian of the treasure a little.
However, outside of combat, Cecilion was the one who was primarily in charge of managing Titania's finances and treasury. Only above Fanrir, who while not as skilled as him, was still decent in the area.
Of course, Cecilion wouldn't judge Fanrir for his childlike mentality, nor for having the majority of his existence dedicated to assassination rather than intellect.
That was how he was created after all, and a servant of the Supreme Lords would never judge their decisions when creating another servant, especially when it came to something as important as a being on the level of Titania's Commanders and Prime Minister.
That's right, Fanrir was level 100, and was the most instantly lethal individual in all of Titania alongside Miia, or even above.
Be that as it may, Cecilion looked at one artifact in particular.
Every day, he did a total of 200 rounds of thorough checking throughout the treasury at the very least every day. He did so within the 5 hour limit, and then he would either tidy up, organize, or relax when he had nothing else to do.
And while this new world Titania was transported to was… Uninteresting so to speak, it did have something that Cecilion liked. Collectible items.
Sure, it wasn't like they had the famous 'event items' or anything like that at the moment, but there were some minimally interesting items, which Cecilion was more than happy to check out and analyze.
Among such items was the Pearl of Death, an item recovered by Supreme Lady Black Abyss•White Flower alongside One-Eyed Alicia.
The item had been interesting to study, as he was aware.
But it was granted to Alicia as it was an item that deserved a bit of interest, even if it was high class at most.
Then there were the stilettos capable of holding level 3 spells. Trash, but something unique of this world.
A rune sword, items taken from a vault in the Dwarf Kingdom, that was of decent level at best.
And of course, what he was looking at, the set of 50 prototype maid dresses that were being prepared and optimized for the use of the Devilish Cleansing Maid Series. They were leveling up, of course, and deserved more than clothes with minimal data on them.
And along with clothes, things like potions made by a boy recruited by the Black Abyss Supreme.
Cecilion was, regrettably, but understandably, the second go-to when it came to item analysis.
After all, Lord Bachelory Antoinette Sheoler II was a level 100 servant, the Prime Minister, created by Her Majesty Queen Dont-Say-My-Name, with spells capable enough to cover up for whatever Cecilion could do.
It wasn't like Cecilion wasn't sought out at all, nor did he feel jealousy. It wasn't worthy of a noble count like him to feel jealous.
Additionally, he was very helpful to Titania's administration as always, dealing with all the paperwork regarding expenses, and sending the reports regarding it to Lord Bachelory, who was second only to Cecilion when it came to economy and expenses.
Cecilion was a businessman, after all. A greedy count who made fortunes and fortunes, and gave them to Titania.
At least that was his background. Which clashed with the idea of him having simply been created and put there directly, but it wasn't something any NPC saw as strange.
It was a strange parallel, but one that no one cared about.
According to the background, Bachelory was an amalgamation born from the dead emotions of a Star God, taken by the Demon Queen and molded into what he was now.
Fanrir was a perfect construct born as the concept of the murder of all things biological and technological supremacy, until it was hacked, controlled and dominated by its 4 creators. Lady State-Your-Business, Lord M4v3r1ck12, Lord Hanzel and Lord Habano.
But no one cared about that.
They were simply memories with feelings painted on them, that felt real and vivid, while at the same time just knowing that they were created and put to work was completely logical and true.
Cecilion, looking away from the potions, looked to the side, seeing a turned off Remote Viewing mirror.
There were many in the Observatory, but not all of them were there, because if the Observatory was destroyed, or attacked, they could be left without them in the worst case.
Looking at it, it worked like a normal mirror before its ability was activated.
He could see himself, a man, tall, perhaps 1.88 meters tall.
His skin was grayish, like ash, and his hair was pure white, almost like the Supreme's.
He had a kind of crown of golden laurels, it went all the way around behind his head with sharp leaves, and rising like pointed horns on both sides of his head.
He wore a beautiful dark suit, with a white shirt and cloth, held by a golden brooch with a large ruby in the middle.
He had a cape, which extended to the middle of his chest in front, and down to his feet from the back. It was a black cape, with a red interior, and on the shoulders of the cape were inlaid with gold, these made a shape similar to that of a beetle or a rhinoceros, with two ascending points looking like horns.
At his waist, his black vest was held by a golden belt, with a golden circle that hooked both ends and a pair of chains that led to a kind of golden blade with a red metal inside, before going down to the black pants, which led to his shiny black shoes.
The entire suit was custom-made, even his dark velvet gloves, which held the dark staff, the handle of which had a sort of insect head.
{Cecilion Wyvernia PNG}
With a quick check, he readjusted his suit, not wanting to look sloppy at all.
With that done, he remembered that Din needed more material so he could create equipment for the maids… He also had to prepare to organize materials he would receive for the mining teams… And the surplus materials from Deorum Regnum… Hm… Well, a lot of things.
With that in mind, and going over what he would put in his report to Lord Bachelory, Cecilion continued on his patrol.
…
Fanrir Fon Fenrir was hanging.
In the literal sense, he was hanging from steel strings, and yet, he was 'asleep', or rather, turned off.
A buzzing sound was heard in the most remote area of the room, and the red lights lit up.
In less than a second, in less than a blink, a fly that had come hidden among some things that were transported to the treasure, was cut at a molecular level, or even atomic, no one could say.
And in front of his corpse disintegrated by speed, a giant filled with blades and strips of cloth.
Surveillance with his two pairs of eyes all around the room, listening for the slightest sound, even if it was a speck of dust falling to the floor, he remained silent, not making a sound of his own.
Once his analysis was done, the metal strings were pulled, and he returned to his place, with his lights turning off again. He would always be attentive.
Always thinking. Always careful.
Even if there was the slightest chance of someone or something staining and disturbing the divine abode of the Supreme Lords, Fanrir Fon Fenrir would be there to cut it down.
Such was his duty.
…
The legendary Soul Eater. An Undead so powerful, that only 3 of them were needed to almost completely wipe out a city of Beastmen, leaving the city in ruins and abandoned ever since.
The city was known as the Silent City, and not a soul would go near there, in fear of such undead disasters that dwelled there.
And amidst all that silence, someone walked.
Covered in ragged, dark robes, with bones as white as marble, sharp and with features that did not show that he was a human skeleton, the Undead walked through the lifeless ruins of the Silent City.
He made no sound other than walking, and having his bones clash and scrape against each other from the movement.
Beside him, silently, several volumes of books followed him, floating by the magic of the skeleton.
However, the skeleton stopped, and looked towards a place, listening to the advancing hooves.
He relaxed as he watched the legendary Undead horse with a yellowish and fatuous aura in the form of flames burn soundlessly from within.
The Soul Eater.
He was about to look away, but something… More than surprising stopped him.
A massive thin claw passed at incredible speed where the Soul Eater was… And the legendary Undead was destroyed effortlessly.
The other Undead stepped back, looking where the claw came from, seeing a black spot in the form of a thin reptile, almost like a snake, with wings, leaving flecks of darkness as if it were fur being moved by the silent wind. He didn't seem to be looking at it, just looking at the moon… In silence…
{Mysterious Draconic Monster PNG}
… A Dragon…
He prepared a spell. Tier 5 magic.
However, a claw came from somewhere else, and his arm was torn apart by the power behind the attack.
The Night Lich, an Undead equal to or even more legendary than the Soul Eater, let out a groan as he lost his arm, before he received a tail whip to his back, and several of his bones broke.
"Agh!" He let out, as he finally made up his mind, and cast a spell. "[Teleportation]"
Vanishing from the scene, he appeared in the largest house in the city, and quickly, with his one arm, he began to grab all of his things as fast as he could.
Research notes, some treasures, scrolls, everything…
A silent jaw closed around his head from behind him, and the headless, armless skeleton fell to the ground lifeless, lifeless. The Shadow Drake crushed the skull between his teeth, and scratched his neck.
He looked out a window, watching the riders begin to arrive at the Silent City.
He shook his head in joy.
His owner would reward him for this.
He left the place through the window, even though it was much smaller than him, without problem, without making a sound, without stirring up a speck of dust.
The Shadow Drake flew with a silence greater than the Silent City itself.
This was only his division. One dedicated to checking this city.
There were 5 divisions looking to conquer cities.
This was the easiest one so far.
There were no screams. There was no one but some weak Undead.
The Drake planned silently, meeting up with his two peers, and the Wyvern Riders with their respective mounts.
The conquest of the country of the Beastmen was going very easy, fast and efficient.
…
Hilma Cygnaeus groaned.
She groaned as she was forced to force her own hand to water the roses in her garden.
She was not someone who was even relevant enough for that monster to remember her. Even if she, along with her companions, were declared as 'governors' of a city of Deorum Regnum in the north, next to the border with Karsanas.
According to whoever dictated their place, it was because they would be able to better discern between scams and such.
Sure, it was a blessing to be able to get out of Re-Estize, and out of that… Out of that… Hell.
God… She couldn't even close her eyes for more than an instant for fear of blindness and darkness… She couldn't stop remembering the feeling of her eyes being… Being a curse, a weapon of torture… Food…
Or the thorns of the roses digging deep into her flesh… The poison and chlorophyll mixing with her blood as flowers sprouted and covered the wounds…
She began to hyperventilate wanting to run away, away from the roses…
But she couldn't…
She… Hilma could feel it. The intense, assessing gaze of those Demons in her shadow… She could feel that even these roses had eyes, watching her… Judging her…
If they faltered, if they hesitated, if they did even one thing wrong… Every single one of the former Eight Fingers bosses feared what those monsters would do…
Of course, with the exception of Zero, who was killed and sacrificed by the queen of those monsters to serve as her now executioner under the guise of a bodyguard.
She could remember it… She could feel it… The feeling of her mind being probed and altered… God… She didn't even remember how old she was… It was one of the worst tortures… Making them forget who they were…
She swallowed.
No, no… Guh… She was going to spit out the clump of saliva at the memory of the roots entering her throat… But if she spat towards the plants… God…
She forced himself to swallow while holding back the desire to vomit.
She wanted to cry, at least she would feed the plants with her suffering…
But she was afraid that even that would bother them.
She looked to her sides, she saw Noah Sweden, the former leader of the Eight Fingers gambling division, was bringing the fertilizer, while Christopher Olson, former leader of the smuggling division, was taking the bags, and was preparing to take care of one of the rose bushes.
They were all pale, in a nightmare land in the form of a beautiful garden…
Well… At least they were in a better position… She didn't have to work so hard… They were dismissed from their positions and replaced by Devils in Re-Estize… At least they were left alive… It was a damn miracle…
She wanted to sob.
She didn't know what those monsters were planning with Re-Estize, but she didn't want to know. She didn't want to know at all. She was sure that even a full invasion of Re-Estize by Baharuth, or even the Beastmen, would be seen as child's play in the face of the oncoming slaughter of the Kingdom…
The memory of that monster with so many eyes, and tentacles, and eyes, and tentacles, and many, many hungry eyes made her stomach turn as she feared that the vaguely tentacle-shaped branches would go and tear out her eyes while they were still connected to her body…
She swallowed back the bile, and forced herself to water the plants… She had to cut off the leaves that stuck out and ruined the perfect aesthetic of the garden afterwards…
Well… At least all of that gave them a sense of camaraderie… And of unity and humility… They no longer attacked each other's throats as much as they could… There were no more plots, enmities, alliances… Only understanding, camaraderie…
At least she could see that as something good that came out of that hell…
"Miss Hilma~" A soft voice and kind almost made her jump out of her skin.
She turned almost catatonically towards the voice, seeing the maid… No… That monster disguised as a maid looking at her with a smile…
"Y-Yes!" She shrieked.
The others stopped, and looked at her with pure sympathy.
"Some merchants from Karsanas wish an audience regarding the transport of some organic resources~ Sure, if you wish, I can postpone it~" She smiled kindly at erm… Although behind that smile, there was only pure malice… Pure and dirty malice…
She wanted to vomit again.
"N-No! I-I'll take care of it…" She said quickly, her voice rapidly weakening as she noticed her voice being raised…
That monster disguised as a beautiful woman… Was surely capable of killing the former leader of the security division, the famous man who was supposedly as strong as an adamantite adventurer or more, even boasting to be stronger than the legendary Gazef Stronoff… Zero… Gods…
"Alright~ Allow me to guide you~" The maid bowed, and began to walk.
Hilma carefully stopped what she was doing, and began to follow the maid as best she could.
She only looked at her companions, and all of them were telling her one thing with their eyes.
'Good luck.'
She thanked them from the bottom of her heart, and promised in her heart… That she would make sure to do everything she could to not return to that Hell… Or make any of her companions return either…
…
The High Succubus set as the Head Maid of the Governors' Mansion of Sancta Joanna Anna, the city bordering the City-State Alliance, Karsanas glanced sideways in confusion at one of the humans who found herself tasked with serving as a maid, guardian, and supervisor.
For some reason, it was as if they were afraid of her, even though she was ordered not to harm them unless they directly betrayed the Supremes.
She shrugged, and just followed her role.
Every maid and servant in this mansion were the Devils capable of having human disguises. Succubi and Incubi.
Only she was a High Succubus, the others in the residence had the characteristic of 'Lesser', meaning they were much weaker.
There was no need for such security at the level of a High Succubus when one had a War Demon in the inner private courtyard as a guardian.
Whatever the case, her duty was simply to act as a servant. She is one of the series of 500 Succubi trained by Maria herself, servants created by the Supreme Ladies, in order to be able to display the act of being real and proper servants. And only she and about 19 others are 'Bosses'.
The title gave her much pride, and as a summon of Her, the majestic Demon Queen, the High Succubus would not fail.
Therefore, with her role firmly rooted in her existence, she led the 'master' Hilma through the mansion, to the meeting room where the aforementioned merchants were waiting.
