Chapter 24 - A New Destiny

"As you wish," Angelo acquiesced, rising from his kneeling position and turning to leave the room. "If you'll excuse me." With a curt nod, he departed, his steps echoing down the corridors as he made his way towards the depths of the castle where Fero was held captive, unaware of the fate that awaited him.

Angelo's footsteps echoed softly against the worn, dimly lit brick stairs as he descended deeper into the bowels of the king's castle. His expression was vacant, devoid of any emotion, as if his mind was elsewhere, detached from the grim reality surrounding him.

Once he reached the bottom floor screams and cries filled his ears, all around him were dark cells with no lights, inside all kind of creatures in despair.

The creatures trapped behind the iron bars caught sight of Angelo and surged forward against the iron bars, their voices blending into a cacophony of pleas for salvation. But Angelo remained unmoved, his impassive gaze fixed ahead, as if oblivious to the suffering that surrounded him.

Dressed in pristine white attire, he seemed out of place in this dark, wretched dungeon.

Angelo pressed on with purpose until he arrived at the terminus of the hallway, where the cell containing Fero lay in wait. Standing before the bars that separated them, Angelo's gaze fixated on Fero's slumbering figure sprawled across the frigid ground.

With a deliberate movement, Angelo extended his arm, fingers outstretched, and invoked a spell with a single word: "Brick Slap." In an instant, the solid wall adjacent to Fero's cell began to contort and shift, taking the form of a colossal palm. Without hesitation, the massive brick appendage struck Fero squarely on the head, jolting him awake from his sleep-induced stupor.

Fero's eyes shot open, his memory flooding back in a torrent of fury that ignited within him like a blazing inferno. With a primal roar, he lunged forward with all his might, chains restraining his movements as if mocking his attempts at freedom.

"ARGHHH, I'LL KILL YOU! ALL OF YOU!!" Fero's voice reverberated off the stone walls, his features contorted in a grotesque display of wrath. His eyes bulged with unbridled rage, veins pulsing against his skin as he strained against the unyielding grip of the anti-magic chains encircling his neck and wrists. "YOU HEARD ME!! I'LL KILL KILL KILL KILL KILL UNTIL NONE OF YOU ARE LEFT!!" he bellowed, his voice hoarse with the intensity of his fury, each word punctuated by the futile struggle against his restraints.

Amidst Fero's chaotic outburst, Angelo remained eerily composed, his gaze steady upon the frenzied figure before him. With a calm demeanor that bordered on unsettling, he interjected, his voice cutting through the tumultuous cacophony. "Why don't you direct all that rage and kill the king?"

The unexpected suggestion seemed to momentarily quell the storm of Fero's rage, his frenetic movements slowing to a halt as he sank back against the cold, unforgiving floor, his breaths ragged and labored.

"What's up with you? You should protect your dumbass father, not suggest to kill him," Fero retorted, his confusion evident in his voice as he regarded Angelo with a mixture of skepticism and bewilderment.

"Yes... You are correct," Angelo murmured softly, his gaze fixed upon the cold stone beneath his feet.

Fero's lips pursed in contemplation as he surveyed his surroundings, the dimly lit cells filled with tormented beings stretching out before him. "Where am I anyway?" he inquired, trying to gather information.

"You are in a place where creatures are test subjects to create warriors," Angelo replied, his words carrying a weight of solemnity as he closed his eyes in concentration. With a barely audible murmur, he uttered the incantation, "Dimensional Teleportation."

In the blink of an eye, reality seemed to warp and shift around them, and suddenly, the oppressive atmosphere of the dungeon was replaced by the small expanse of an island suspended in the sky. The air was crisp and clean, the distant horizon stretching out endlessly in every direction as they stood upon the precipice of this newfound realm.

Fero's eyes darted around in bewilderment as he took in his new surroundings, finding himself on a small island with nothing but a pavilion at its center. In the midst of it stood a simple table flanked by two seats, where Angelo sat calmly, sipping on a cup of green tea.

"Come, sit. Let us have a private conversation outside the king's hearings," Angelo beckoned, his tone inviting yet tinged with a sense of gravity.

With a weary sigh, Fero rose from the grass, the weight of his chains dragging along with him as he ascended the two steps leading to the pavilion. Collapsing into the seat opposite Angelo, he regarded the enigmatic figure before him with a mixture of exhaustion and curiosity.

It was a stark juxtaposition—the disheveled appearance of Fero, his clothes worn and tattered, seated across from Angelo, whose pristine demeanor seemed almost ethereal in comparison. It was as if a vagabond had found himself face to face with an angel amidst the tranquil serenity of this isolated island.

Angelo's gaze swept over Fero, assessing him with a measured scrutiny before extending his finger, effortlessly shattering the magical chains that bound him. "You seem like a reasonable man, no need for chains," he remarked calmly, his actions betraying a sense of trust that seemed almost naive to Fero.

Initially taken aback by Angelo's apparent naivety, Fero's shock quickly gave way to a fierce grin as he muttered under his breath, "Dumbass," before lunging forward in a sudden burst of aggression.

But before Fero could lay a hand on Angelo, the enigmatic figure simply extended his hand, and in an instant, Fero found himself ensnared by an immense, transparent grip that held him aloft in the air.

Trapped within the barley visible vice, Fero's screams pierced the sky as he writhed in agony, the crushing pressure of the force threatening to overwhelm him. Meanwhile, Angelo rose to his feet, a palpable aura of power emanating from his being as he addressed Fero with a commanding presence.

"You are nothing but an ant in front of me, Fero! Humble yourself!" Angelo's voice boomed with a force that matched the intensity of his gaze, his grip tightening around Fero's form as if to emphasize his point. "I could kill you even if all my senses and all my arms and legs were chopped off in a second. So, once I release you right now, I demand you calm down and talk to me like a true man!"

After a few moments of tense silence, Angelo released his grip upon Fero, causing him to plummet to the ground. With a defeated sigh, Fero picked himself up, his frustration evident as he returned to his seat, his expression a mixture of humiliation and annoyance.

Angelo regarded Fero with a penetrating gaze before breaking the silence once more. "Even though we may have had a rough start, I truly believe we could become good friends," he began, his tone calm and measured as he took another sip of his tea. "In any case, I saved you from becoming a tool for the kingdom, and so you owe me one."

Fero, pinching the bridge of his nose in exasperation, reluctantly relented. "What do you want? I'll do whatever you want for one time," he conceded begrudgingly, his tone laden with resignation.

Angelo's smile widened at Fero's quick comprehension, acknowledging his intelligence with a nod of approval. "You understood that quite fast. You are smarter than you look," he remarked before setting his tea aside and fixing Fero with a serious gaze. "I need you to kill the king," he declared, his eyes flashing with ferocity.

Fero's response was a dismissive chuckle, his arrogance palpable. "Pfhh, is that all?" he retorted, his demeanor brimming with overconfidence as he leaned back on his chair and crossed his arms.

Angelo's expression shifted, his surprise evident at Fero's nonchalant attitude. "Are you sane?" he questioned incredulously, his voice tinged with a hint of concern. "The king is the hero of Humanity! In order to kill him, you will go against all of humanity! That is a serious matter," he emphasized

Fero fell silent for a moment, his gaze drifting elsewhere as if lost in thought. Then, with a resigned sigh, he addressed someone or something unseen. "System, don't tell me... The reason I've been sent to this world is to kill some Demon king or something, right?" he queried, his voice tinged with a mix of frustration and disbelief.

Angelo watched Fero intently, a puzzled expression crossing his features as he tried to decipher who Fero was speaking to. Before he could voice his confusion, a screen popped up in front of Fero's vision.

[Bingo!]

Fero's eyes narrowed as he processed the confirmation from the system, his expression a mixture of resignation and grim amusement. Pinching the bridge of his nose, he looked up at the sky, his laughter tinged with bitterness. "Well, fucking hell... I'll have to go against the entire fucking world. Fuck, hahahaha," he muttered, the weight of his newfound destiny settling upon him like a heavy shroud.

Angelo listened to Fero's self-talk with a thoughtful expression, then responded, "Well, kinda yes... You have to overthrow the entire human system and rebuild it... When you forcefully stood up against the king's command, I knew you were sent by heaven to change humanity," he explained, his voice carrying a hint of conviction.

Fero waved off Angelo's words with a dismissive gesture. "Stop making shit up, man," he retorted, his tone tinged with skepticism. "Heaven sent me for an entirely different reason. Not only will I need to go against the gods' will of not killing humans, but I'll have to go against humans rule and demons alike. I'm like some fucking virus to the universe, hahahaha," he added with bitter amusement, his laughter laced with a hint of resignation...
