"I will also recommend your daughter for the entrance test" the crimson wizard said in a solemn voice
Ethan and Alice's eyes widened in surprise. Sure, they knew their children were smarter than average, but this was more than they imagined!
'Having a recommendation from the commander himself for both... fantastic' thought Ambra Imperceptibly widening the eyes of joy.
"You also got a recommendation, eh, Ambry? What did he ask you?" said Adamas, addressing her a brotherly smile.
"Yeah. Don't worry, Ady, let's talk about what he asked me." Ambra said, smiling faintly at Adamas, but with a sweet look.
"Thank you Mr. Rubino" Ethan said sincerely.
"Ohoh, they earned it, nothing to thank for" Alexander said laughing.
Then with a serious look towards the couple and said "now let's move on to the bureaucratic part"
"As regards the recommendation, its valid only for the registration fee of entrance tests and the subsequent 6 months of study; subsequently, unlike academic performance, they may have cost advantages, or even complete exemption.
"Your younger child is actually still too young to attend, as his classes start in 2 years. The lessons of the first years are inherent to basic understanding of magic diagrams and magical instruments, after 3 years of study he can choose different specializations;
"as far as your older daughter is concerned, however, if she wants, she will be able to start lessons next year, so as not to introduce it mid-year, and if she passes it with flying colors, she will be able to skip the first year of the course, which only includes the first theoretical part. By doing so, she would study with people her own age.
"The courses in the magic section include 2 years of courses for the basics of magic, after these 2 years we move on to the practical part, with basics for spells. Subsequently she can obviously choose different specializations"
"This is the information on the path of your children, if you want more you can easily go to the first floor of the red tower, they will tell you everything you want to know." he concluded with a smile
"Okay," Alice said after taking a few seconds to think about it. "Thank you for the opportunity you are giving to our children Mr. Rubino" She said in a composed but sunny way, making it clear the happiness she felt.
"Ohoh, please call me Alexander" he said with a warm smile.
"Anyway, I heard from your daughter that you have a magic shop, right?"
"Exactly, the one calledThe Wind is ours. Do you need anything?" Ethan said cordially
"I actually need a restoration of my magic stick, if possible." the magician replied humbly and summoning the stick approximately 5.7 feet long in front of the couple
The stick showed its age,it show some cracks everywhere, but the beauty remained intact: a beautiful birch color was the star, with some wine red band decoration and a black drawing of an owl on the top of the stick, from which hung a red ribbon with something inscribed in an runic language.
After looking at the staff and its dents, the magician received an answer.
"No problem then, come by tomorrow and by the end of the day you will have the restoration completed!" Ethan said proudly, confident in his skills
"Ohoh, thank you so much. This staff means a lot to me" he said with a gentle look.
"Well, it's time for me to go, thank you for the hospitality and again sorry for the short notice of the visit." he said while glancing quickly at the guys who were greeting him cordially from the first floor.
"Don't worry, it was a pleasure, goodbye Alexander" Alice said noticing the direction of the wizard's gaze
So, as soon as he walked out the door, the crimson wizard disappeared, leaving sparks of fire in his place.
100th floor of the red tower, commander's office
Inside the room, first the crackling of a flame was heard, then a large fire was visible, which took human form and became the commander Alexander Rubino.
"Uff, you were right, but partially, Kronum" he said amused but sad at the same time, as if he had lost a bet, while he sat in his large leather armchair
From across the room a grave voice could be heard talking, a characteristic that went against the sight of the creature from which it came: an owl with a wheat-colored coat was staring amused at the wizard with his pitch black eyes
"So I was right, huh? But why only partially? Explain yourself Alex" the owl asked with a puzzled tone.
"The magical power you felt was left on the boy, but it wasn't his. But, if you're interested, I got him too, in the scientific section, he's really smart, he calculates the odds being 12 years old"
"What?" the owl named Kronum's feathers stood up
"What 'What?', for the boy or the magic power?" the wizard looked at the owl strangely
"The magical power, where did it come from? And then, did you warn him or her about my dream?" Kronum said with a tone on the verge of patience.
"It came from the boy's sister, and what's even more ambiguous is that no one in that family is a magician except her. And no, I didn't warn her, it's too early for your vision to come true...
"However, do you know what the fun part is? I didn't want to take her to the tower because she had introduced herself in a very rude way"
"So age is finally kicking in uh? Hahahaha" the owl laughed heartily with a guttural sound that verges on the sound of thunder.
"Ohohohoh, this one was good, but no, in the end I got it, after obviously having done a test, she knows a lot at her age." Alexander laughed too
"And I guess you took her not just for the test answers, right?" said the owl and looked at the wizard curiously
"Right. Do you remember when I asked you to sign the bond? You asked me a question that at the time left me bewildered"
"Of course, I asked you why you were studying magic, even though it was complicated at the time for the young boy you were, and you replied 'because it's fun!' " as he said this, the wheat-colored owl flew towards Alexander, perching on the back of the armchair
The sides of the wizard's mouth curved upward, and then he said to his companion
"She answered the same, I have a good feeling about her."
Tural's House
Dishes were being prepared in the house to celebrate the news of the recommendations
"Honey! Can you set the table please? It's almost ready," Ethan told his wife in the living room
"Already done! Who do you think you're talking to?" Alice said in response, in a joking tone
*laughs*
The mood in the house has always been cheerful, serious discussions rarely took place in the family.
And so, amidst laughter and celebration, the evening ended.
