Chapter 24 - Coffee shop and getting to know each other.

After introducing ourselves, I took the opportunity and introduced the person behind me.

"This, by the way, is Arno, my roommate."

They also saw him and greeted him, although I felt Lívia's gaze change. He didn't seem hostile, but he seemed doubtful, as if he had already seen him.

However, Arno didn't react at all.

And he just greeted the others normally, and at that moment I heard Lívia speak with a smile.

"Well, would you like to go eat?"

"Yesss!!" Tiago responded, excitedly.

And I, realizing that Arno was going to deny it, quickly touched his shoulder.

"Arno and I will go too. It's always good to go to a different environment to relax your mind from heavy feelings and resentment and replenish energy, it also allows you to exchange ideas." I spoke with a smile and his body and expression clearly became tense.

And, seeing this, I whispered in his ear so that only he could hear.

"I don't know or care what's going on in your mind and what problems you're experiencing, but it's important not to sink too deep or you'll get lost."

He, hearing this, seemed to be relieved in some way.

And he nodded in agreement and we went to lunch.

Arriving at the canteen, it was relatively similar to the ship and followed a common military trend, tables and chairs made of metal, windows with intelligent robots distributing food or accepting orders.

There was both a side with ready-made foods and one that could be ordered and paid for, the kitchen itself works with both the help of "humans" and robots.

Of course, orders could also be made by smart computers that were on each table, but any food that was ordered and was not ready, you had to pay with your own money.

The four of us sat down and looked at the computer, for orders placed there were a number of things proving that the bosses were very skilled and the robots had good programs, which made sense considering the status of this academy.

For me, I ended up choosing a ravioli made from an animal that looked like lobster and a glass of juice, and using my smart bracelet I paid, I had no money problem, so I didn't worry.

While Lívia ordered a salad and Tiago and Arno took the food that was available, it was braised meat with vegetables and rice.

And while we ate, we talked about different topics, for example, we discovered that Lívia was from the military medical school, especially mental care and mental power problems.

While Arno was from combat school... he didn't say much during the conversation, but I paid attention even though it's not impossible for sub-orcs to enter combat school, and today more and more try, it's still rare, especially passing already that they charge regarding the physical level for using the Mech and even regarding the use of supernatural power as a form of combat.

And towards the end, Lívia spoke.

"By the way, in our group we have everyone, right? An engineer, a medic, a combat person, and a support person, we should create a team later." She spoke very excitedly. Creating a team is something that happens relatively early in military school, it is a form of practice, mandatory for those on the combat team and strongly recommended for other schools, where the basic criteria are at least: a Mech engineer, a doctor, a warrior and a supporter.

The presence of support can sometimes seem futile, or easily replaceable, but they are always highlighted as important because they are the multi-purpose "tools" of the team who learn different things in their chairs, both a little more combat, basic engineering knowledge , medical, computational knowledge, etc.

"One could be, but there are still two months to go" I neither agreed nor denied, I feel that Tiago would want to participate, which would probably lead me to stay on his team… as for Arno, he is obliged to keep his course in mind .

However, I don't know what the teams will look like in the future, so I prefer not to confirm anything, luckily Lívia wasn't bothered and smiled.

"Yes, yes!! We can confirm in the future."

And after eating we separated, I went to find a library and Lívia dragged Tiago to buy some supplies for both of them, while Arno said he was going to train.

The library wasn't difficult to find, as I only confirmed the information with robots from the academy.

And they directed me to the location. The library itself was a gigantic building in the style of an old library, but after I used my bracelet to enter most of the books were virtual.

That is, they were purely representations of data, which could be touched like books, but there was little that was made of paper and ink.

"Well... it has always been more complex to find... given the issue of preservation... even now it is empty and most individuals access it through the virtual world."

This is the reality, the building is gigantic, well built and well preserved, but there were few individuals inside since most use books through virtual reality, although the physical one is still possible to be found.

I walked around it for a while and chose some books that I found interesting, that told me about the history of the academy itself.

I picked it up primarily out of curiosity and read it for a few hours.
