Chapter 5 - Next Morning

The next day

Zephyr was waking up. Oscar

"It's morning, man," Zephyr said while shaking his shoulder.

"Aah, good morning," Oscar said while stretching.

"Yeh, good morning," Zephyr replied.

After looking around, Oscar asked

"Where are the others?"

"Sarina and Zeth left to find something for breakfast."

"You should've woken me up too."

"Zeth told us to let you sleep for a while longer."

"Is that so? When did they leave?"

"Been an hour, I think."

Oscar looked at the watch on his left arm, which was surprisingly still working. It was 9 a.m. in the morning.

Aly entered the cave.

"Good morning" Aly said to Oscar

"Good morning… Where did you go? Oscar asked while doing some exercises.

"To the lake," Aly replied.

"You shouldn't have let her go alone." Oscar said to Zephyr

"I wanted to go with her, but she insisted on going alone." Zephyr replied

"What do you guys mean? I am not a child, you  know."Aly said to both of them

"Even if you are not, it's not safe to go out alone when we know nothing about this place," Zephyr replied.

"Now that we have time, let's talk about that." Oscar suggested

Sarina and Zeth were back now, while Zeth brought back some fruits like coconuts. Sarina brought three rabbits.

"How did you? Nevermind." Zephyr left his question in half.

"Let's eat after I come back from the lake."

After having their breakfast, they started talking about the stuff that was happening.

"Let's just be honest here. We all know that it's impossible to survive a plane crash like that for a normal person, so let's reveal our secrets.

I'll go first. I survived because I am really strong." Oscar said that with a straight face and a smile, and he looked at Zeth for his answer.

Nobody said anything.

"I got lucky, I guess," Zeth said.

"No, you didn't. You survived because you are strong too, and the same goes for the beautiful lady here," Oscar said while looking at Sarina.

"Well, I survived because of Big Sister. As long as Big Sis is with me, I am not dying that easily," Aly said while clinging to her sister.

"I still don't get how Aly survived." Zeth spoke

"Lady Sarina probably shared more than half of her energy with Aly to protect her, hence the reason why she got a little injured herself.

Am I right?" Oscar said

"You are right, but isn't it supposed to be a secret?" Sarina asked

"It's fine, we can trust him." Oscar replied

"I am sorry, but I am not following, sharing energy and all. What are you guys talking about?" Zephyr asked

"Wait, you don't know anything about it? I thought you were also a part of one of the hidden clans," Sarina asked.

"Hidden what? Are you messing with me right now?"

"Wait, if that's not the case, then how did you survive the crash?" Oscar asked

"About that… I don't know."

"Huh?"

"I remember losing consciousness when something hit my head on the plane, and when I woke up, I was on the island with this girl."

"You saved him?" Sarina asked Aly

"He was lying on the plane unconscious. I just brought him to the island. I don't know how, but other than some bruises, he was completely  fine.

"You sound like I am the weird one here."

"I guess not, but... Let's just believe that you were lucky for now," Oscar suggested.

"So how are we leaving this place then?" Sarina asked

"Does anyone know where we are? It's a surprisingly big island, so we should know something about it," Oscar asked.

"We don't; there wasn't supposed to be an island on our way. This place does not exist on the world map." Zeth joined the conversation.

Everyone was surprised because if what Zeth said was true, then they were in bigger trouble than they thought.

Everyone except Oscar

"Eh, we probably missed one," Oscar said while breaking the tension.

"Are you retarded or just acting?" Sarina asked

"Forget it. Let's just explore this island a little more for now." Oscar replied

They were divided into two teams. Zeth and Oscar went one way, and Sarina, Alina, and Zephyr went the other way.

Zeth and Oscar were walking together.

"The man you killed was for your personal revenge, right?" Oscar asked

"It was"

"Did it make you feel better?"

"Better, you ask?"

"Yeh, like, did it help?"

"It did not make me feel any better about my loss, but I don't regret what I did.

If there is any regret, it is that he died early."

"So it satisfies your anger a little, but the pain is still there...

Forgive yourself"

"You are the one to talk."

"Forget it, let's increase the pace."

They started running after that.

Meanwhile, the other group was moving at a slow pace.

"Where are we going?" Aly asked

"To where the plane crashed," Sarina replied.

They were using a different route to explore more on their way, and a structure that looked like a small pyramid was there.

"That can't be natural," Aly said.

"Of course not," Zephyr added.

"Nothing is natural here; let's go inside." Sarina said

The structure was shaped like a pyramid, but it was really small compared to one

They removed the rocks from the entrance and went in.

Most of the space inside was empty, and the space was clean, as somebody cleaned it before closing it.

There was a small tomb in the middle of that space.

"Do you think there's a mummy inside?" Aly asked Zephyr

"I don't know."

Sarina opened the tomb by pushing the rock that covered it, and inside were a lot of weapons, including swords, spears, daggers, and katanas.

"What do you think they left them here for?" Aly asked Zephyr again.

"I don't know."

"Let's just leave them here for now; they may be useful later on." Sarina said

"Yeh, that's better," Zephyr agreed.

Meanwhile, Zeth and Oscar reached the shore on the other side.

Zeth was walking towards the sea.

"STOP" Oscar shouted

"What's wrong?"

"Wait a second."

Oscar walked towards the sea and was hanging his hand in the air, trying to find something.

"What are you doing?" Zeth asked

Before he could get his answer, Oscar landed his hand on an invisible wall.

"Hahaha, it looks like you were right, Zeth. This isn't a normal island. We are trapped inside a force  field.

Zeth got closer and touched the force field.

It was visible when you touched it; other than that, you couldn't see it.

It felt like glass, but you couldn't feel any temperature from it, and no matter how much force Zeth applied, it didn't move.

"Zeth. Get back a little," Oscar said with a grin.

Zeth increased the distance between them.

"Core Unlock. First stage. Godly fist," Oscar took his fighting stance.

Zeth, who couldn't see anything last time, witnessed soul energy enveloping Oscar's right fist completely.

His fist took on a giant form.

To Zeth, it looked like a green light.

After preparing for a few more seconds, Oscar threw a really strong punch on the force field.

The punch was so strong that the shock wave traveled through all the force fields covering the island.

For a few seconds, the complete force field was visible, and Sarina and others could also see it in the sky.

Just for a second, Oscar's hand got out of the force field, but the field was back to normal, and Oscar had to get his hand in.

"It's stronger than I thought," Oscar said with his hand on his chin.

"Are you a monster or something?" Zeth asked while covered in sand due to the shockwave.

"Mee?.. no" Oscar said it with a straight face.

"Whatever… What do you think about this force field?"

"It's getting a constant supply of energy, and also, the energy it's using isn't soul energy."

"Then what is it?"

"I don't know. I've never felt such energy before. It's not really strong, all but the quantity. It's too much."

"Let's go back for now."

"Yeh, let's go."
