After reading that note, I kept blaming myself and went back home. It took me almost a month to move on from what happened, and after that, I started going back to the office like normal. Her memories and smile kept bothering me. It wrenched my heart and put me in sorrow. I became a loner and never talked back to anyone again.
2 months passed. My face was filled with a beard, and I was mentally broken. I was not able to forget her, even though her voice kept repeating my name in my ears. Her whisper, touch, and dressings were everything I kept remembering. I tried everything, but I was not able to move on. Even alcohol and other substances never helped me; instead, they put me in a financial depression and made me even weaker. I even joined street fights to take out my frustration, but even after winning matches, I was not able to heal myself. So, I left them all.
My patience was getting down, so I decided to leave my job and take a visit to her house, where she lived again. I kept doing that for 2–3 days. I even searched everything inside for some clue, even a small idea, but I found nothing. Then one day, I took out my laptop and saw the presentations that were made. In that presentation, there was the name of a college, so I got curious and decided to search for it. Randomly, I found that the college was closed due to the earthquake that came and destroyed the building, but luckily, I found the old pictures on their Facebook account. From there, I found the accounts of its ex-students in the following, even though I found a girl ID that was familiar to me. I took out my phone, and it looked like she was Nikita. I did a little bit of research about the person in the photos that were available on the college's profile and the abandoned website, which was luckily working. I found the toppers list, where I found something that made me happy. I got proper confirmation that it was Nikita and also got news about the faculty member who attacked her. I tried connecting everything, and then I finally found Nikita's hometown.
I was totally happy and excited. I decided to book a trip to the hometown where she lived, but I found that there were no trains available at that moment, so I booked a car and set the location. I got ready and packed all my important things, including her photos and details. The city where she lived was infamous. So, it took the driver a while to figure out the location, and then he dropped me off at that location. It took me almost 3–4 days to arrive in her hometown. The location where I was dropped off was the abandoned college.
From there, I went to the nearby places and took her photo in my hand, then began my search. I kept searching for her till the evening. When I got tired, I took a break and ate some chips. Then I started searching for her over and over again.
Almost a month passed, but I didn't even find a clue about her. I joined a corporate job and rented a house in that area so that I could have a place to live and some money to afford my expenses. Every day I returned from my job, I began searching for her while I was on my way back home. I even used weekends and wasted my holidays searching for her. The people in that area started spreading rumours about me being a freak who was in search of a girl, but I didn't care about that. People in my neighbourhood asked about everything, and I told them... They were good people. They supported me in my search for Nikita. I began exploring the other parts of the city as well. But I found nothing. Every day and night, I was busy searching, but I started to lose hope. I lost hope again, but it was the time when all my suffering came to an end.
One day, in a park, I was tired, so I decided to take some rest. I didn't even see here and there, and I sat on the bench that was nearby me. Someone saw the photo of Nikita in my hand and thought of me as a criminal, so that person called the police. From there, I went through an investigation procedure, and the person who called the police came along to have a look at me. I told them everything about what happened, and then the person found that I was innocent. She apologized and took her complaint back. She saw the picture that I was holding and asked...
How do you know about Nikita? (The Girl)
I know her. We worked together, and we were both lovers. (Suraj)
Hearing that made everything clear to her. She introduced herself first. Her name was Sheena. She told me that Nikita and she used to be friends, and she knows where she lives. After that, I introduced myself to her and told her everything from the start.
Ah!!! That clumsy girl will never change. I am sorry for her. (Sheena)
No... It's okay... I just want to see her. (Suraj)
We had a long conversation. And I got to know a lot about Nikita. Even she told me that the person she had been talking about ever since her return was me, and even Sheena was shocked to see me in that state. I got to learn a lot about Nikita and, at last, where she lived and even where she was at that time.
I got curious and requested that she take me to that place. She was a good person, so I agreed to take me to her, and she promised me that she would help me out.
She took me to the lake, which was nearby and close to the park. And what I saw was true.
I saw Nikita standing near the lake with a sketchbook in her hand. She was wearing a white shirt and a matching shade of palazzo. Her hair was waving with the blowing wind in the direction of the wind. A cool breeze carried all her scent to me and melted all my worries away. She was looking gorgeous at the time.
I went close to her behind her back and called her name out.
Nikita!!! You are clumsy. (Suraj)
She turned away and saw me. She was happy but got emotional at the same time. She gave me a tight hug and said,
Why did you come all this way? I left you all alone. (Nikita)
Yeah, But I wasn't able to forget you. It was completely difficult for me. (Suraj)
How did you find out about me? And what about your job? (Nikita)
I left that already when you were and about the info. I did a little bit of research on you. Rest assured, you know that I am a competitive one. (Suraj)
Stupid, Moron. You are stupid. I hate you, but I don't hate you. I don't know why I'm happy. (Nikita)
I love you. and I promised that I wouldn't leave your side ever again. So, I did. (Suraj)
After that, she started hitting me and scolding me like usual. I looked around and noticed that Sheena was gone. I wished me luck before leaving the place. The message was carved on the tree bark. I and Nikita had a long talk until it was evening, and I was happy as well.
Now, what are you planning to do now?? (Nikita)
I left the place and started living here. So, I have decided to live here. (Suraj)
Nikita was happy after hearing that but disappointed as well.
I have a lot to do now. But before that... I have something to do. (Suraj)
And what is it? (Nikita)
Close your eyes and hold your breath. (Suraj)
Okay. (Nikita)
Now, place your right hand on my chest. (Suraj)
Sure... (Nikita)
You can feel my heartbeat? (Suraj)
Yes... (Nikita)
Now, close your eyes and hold on for a second. (Suraj)
I grabbed her by her waist tightly, and then
What are you doing?? (Nikita)
Nothing; it's something that I wanted to do. (Suraj)
As she was holding her breath, I was grabbing her from her waist. She had a flustered face with reddish cheeks. The way she looked at me was making my heart race even more. She tried looking down for a second, but I lifted her head with my hand, gently touching her chin, and made her look into my eyes.
This time, she was even more flustered. I was also getting shy, and it could be seen from my face. She was looking, but then both of us started laughing. She told me to look at my face. That kind of face made her laugh even more. Watching her laugh, I also started again. Then, after settling down, we get back to our stuff. She told me that this was her first time kissing stuff, even though she had been in relationships but no one ever dared to kiss her.
Listening to that made me hold her tight this time, and then while she was complaining, she looked at me coming close to her. Again, that flustered her face, but it was super. It made my heart beat faster and faster as the time passed.
The moment our lips came into contact, we didn't even realize it. I was feeling her warmth, and she was feeling mine. Both of us were holding on for so long that we got back to the world when we started feeling suffocated, but that one kiss changed everything.
On that day, our kiss changed everything between us.
THE END
That's it...
This was the story of me and Nikita. (Suraj)
Oh!!! That was a great story. (Neha)
I hope that you all liked the story. Our First Meet was the very first project that I wanted to finish and write. I know that this story and novella have flaws, but I wanted to try something from the very start. I love writing and narrating things. So, I decided to write up a light-hearted romance...
Thank You...
Sadub...
