Chapter 1 - Chapter One

Breathe.

This is a dream. It's not real.

"Sect master, are you okay?"

"Yes. I'm just tired."

Vivid memories filled Allan's mind. A few minutes ago, he was just a student crossing a busy street and collapsed. And now, he was the sect master of the Sky-River Sect.

He had transmigrated. Which to him, was nothing more than a thing of fantasy stories but right now reality was proving him wrong. He had pinched himself, slapped himself and even tried running into a wall. It was real, and he was here to stay.

Allen transmigrated after his death and memories belonging to Hao Ren were filling his mind. He was the new sect master of the Sky-River sect. He was chosen because his adoptive father was the previous sect master and was half crippled after the sect war. The only reason the Sky River sect still existed was because of a promise the Imperial leader of the Western Region of the continent had made to the sect's founder. Numerous sects and powers had found the Sky River sect displeasing to the eye and thus banded together to wipe it out. Later on, they divided the sect's territories and treasures among themselves and because of the imperial family's intervention, left a few resources and the cultivation methods behind.

However, unlike how the Sky River sect had numerous territories before, they now had a tiny portion. And that was where they were. Just a day before, the remaining 50 individuals of the sect including him, arrived at Sky Kingdom, the only vassal territory they were allowed to keep and that was because it was a poor, undeveloped region. That was their new home. The place where they would settle and live out their fate as a dying sect. they carved out two mountains and a valley as their new territory and today, they were going to start developing it.

Suddenly, a voice appeared in Hao Ren's mind and it shocked him.

[System setup is complete]

Hmm, I have a system. So this is really like those cultivation novels. I wonder if there is an interface.

As soon as that thought appeared a floating interface appeared

[Host: Hao Ren

Talent: Average

Realm: Early Nascent Soul Stage

Sect: Sky-River Sect

Role: Sect Leader

Disciples: N/A]

As he was reading his stats, a pop-up sprang up and caught his attention

[System mission: A Sect's aesthetic should be pleasing and show its dignity. Choose a satisfactory location and construct all the necessary amenities a sect should have.

Time Limit: Three months

Penalty for failure: Certain death]

Hao Ren walked out of the cave he was in and went to where the rest of the sect members had gathered. With the previous owner's memories, he identified all the people. Apart from his foster father who was in a wheelchair, he saw many others who were close to him too. Most of them were the elders of the sect and their disciples. Only a few of them were actual disciples. Most of them had left when the sect was being attacked.

"Hao Ren, it's good that you've finally left that cave. We were just discussing where to set up the sect."

The moment Hao Ren arrived he was approached by a frail-looking old man.

"Elder Chen, I came here just for that. I thought I should help with that.'

The man in front of him was called Elder Chen and he was one of the six nascent soul experts of the sect.

"Really that's good. What ideas do you have?"

"Since we have two mountains as part of the sect, the tallest one should be the main sect location."

The surrounding elders looked at Hao Ren and their reaction showed that that's what they thought too.

Seeing this, Hao Ren told the elders not to worry and leave it all to him to manage it. It was, after all, a part of a system mission whose consequence was death hence he had to have a hands-down approach to it.

It took 3 weeks for Hao Ren to scan the two mountains with his spiritual sense thus providing him with some familiarity of the region. Even if it was considered a small territory, to a mortal who hadn't started cultivating, it would be huge. With that, he had begun to partake in the construction of the sect structures.

More than thirty cultivators, led by Hao Ren worked on the construction of the sect and clearing out areas. Those with an affinity to earth lay down the groundwork and soon a magnificent sect stood on the mountains.

The tallest peak became home to what Hao Ren called the sect administration office. After explaining what it was to the other elders, they agreed with him. It was a gigantic pavilion similar to a palace. While no one would live there, it was still an essential section of the sect where the sect leader and all the other leaders would meet to make crucial decisions. It would also be a place to host any critical guests.

As for the rest of the sect, a heavenly aura encompassed it. Hao Ren had decided to design it in accordance with Chinese constellations he read about in his previous life. Gardens were shaped in a starry manner where the shapes of specific constellations such as the Big Dipper, Azure Dragon, White Tiger and the Vermillion bird were highlighted using a combination of different plants, flowers and stones to create the outline of these constellations. Each of those gardens exuded a different aura because of the constellations. The Big Dipper garden exuded a peaceful aura capable of calming one's thoughts, the Azure Dragon garden exuded a noble and mighty presence that was pure, and the White Tiger garden exuded a domineering presence while the Vermillion bird exuded a fiery and scorching presence

Furthermore, the lakes, ponds and rivers that were part of the sect territory were inlaid with night pearls arranged according to other constellations. The night pearls lit up at night completing the new sect that now looked regal and like a paradise.

Soon, two months passed and every necessary structure in a sect was constructed, formations inlaid and everyone had settled down and to Hao Ren's soul, adjusted to living in a cultivation world.
