Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: My illness is cured

After feeding the medicine to Nyx, Lin Qiye withdrew from his mind and gradually sank into a dream. This time, he didn't experience the tiresome knocking-on-the-door dream anymore. Since the integration with the Hospital for Gods' Mental Disorders, it seemed like he had completely freed himself from the constraints of that dream, gaining genuine peaceful sleep.

He had a good dream. He dreamt of getting into college, achieving success in his career, moving into a big house with his aunt and Yang Jin, and the three of them finally being able to go on a trip together, exploring mountains and waters that he had only seen on TV.

Due to his previous physical disabilities and the financial strain at home, there had been no extra money for traveling in Lin Qiye's seventeen years. Deep down, he harbored a strong longing for the outside world.

When the alarm clock rang, Lin Qiye reluctantly got up, changed his clothes, and prepared to go to school. As he opened the door, he saw his aunt hastily changing shoes at the entrance, preparing to leave.

"Aunt, why are you going to work so early?"

"The factory received a new batch of parts, and they want us to process them quickly. I have to go first. You continue to have breakfast with your brother and make sure not to be late!" His aunt mumbled as she rushed.

"Alright."

Just as his aunt was about to close the door, Lin Qiye spoke up again.

"Aunt."

"What's the matter?"

His aunt stopped, looking at Lin Qiye with confusion.

"Nothing." Lin Qiye hesitated for a moment, shook his head, and smiled. "I'll tell you some good news when you come back."

His aunt looked at him with suspicion for a moment, then scolded with a smile, "This child is playing games with me. Okay, Aunt is in a hurry now. We'll talk tonight!"

After saying that, she quickly closed the door and hurried downstairs.

Lin Qiye stood silently at the door, looking down and lost in thought.

Suddenly, he raised his head as if he had made a decision and, wearing slippers, opened the door.

Standing in the corridor, he shouted downstairs!

"Aunt! I can see now!"

In the next moment, Lin Qiye heard the hurried footsteps downstairs suddenly stop. Then his aunt's voice trembled as it floated up from below the fifth floor.

"What, what did you say?!"

"I can see! I am better, Aunt!"

After a brief pause, a more urgent sound of footsteps came from below, and soon, his panting aunt stood in front of Lin Qiye.

Her lips trembled slightly, but the corners of her mouth couldn't help but lift.

"Can you really see?!"

"Really."

"Is it blurry? Double vision? Does it hurt? Does it still hurt when exposed to light?"

"No, none of that, Aunt." Lin Qiye smiled, raising his hand to remove the black silk covering his eyes. A pair of beautiful eyes slowly opened. "I'm really better, Aunt."

His aunt stared at those eyes in amazement, tears uncontrollably streaming down her face.

She laughed, and the wrinkles on her face unfolded like blossoming flowers. In her forties, she laughed like a child.

Ten years had passed, and Lin Qiye had never seen her smile like this.

His aunt released Lin Qiye from her embrace, and he could clearly feel her body trembling slightly.

"Good, good... our little Seven has finally overcome it!" His aunt let go of Lin Qiye, wiped away her tears, and smiled. "Little Seven, Aunt has to go to work now. When Aunt comes back tonight, buy some good food. We must celebrate!"

"Thank you, Aunt."

"Well, Aunt has to go now. You go to school well."

"Okay."

His aunt quickly walked downstairs, tears still streaming down her face, wiping her face, and her steps were unexpectedly light.

Lin Qiye watched his aunt leave, turned around, and saw Yang Jin holding Little Black Laizi standing behind him, his eyes reddening.

The two brothers looked at each other for two seconds, then both burst into laughter.

"Bro, congratulations."

"Yeah, now you can finally use the sunglasses you gave me."

Little Black Laizi poked his head out from Yang Jin's arms, licked Lin Qiye's hand, and barked, "Woof!"

...

Erzhong High School.

When Lin Qiye entered the classroom, the whole class suddenly quieted down.

After a moment of confusion, some students tentatively spoke up:

"Are you... Lin Qiye?"

Lin Qiye raised his eyebrows after removing the black silk, nodding slightly.

After a short silence, the classroom became noisy again, and the discussion was even more enthusiastic than before.

"His eyes are better?"

"Definitely, he can see now!"

"His eyes are so beautiful!"

"Yeah, yeah, how did we not notice before? He's actually so handsome..."

The girls' eyes toward Lin Qiye changed, gathering together and talking in whispers, occasionally glancing at Lin Qiye.

The male students who were closer to Lin Qiye also gathered around him, asking a bunch of questions about his eyes. When they confirmed that Lin Qiye had indeed recovered, they were extremely surprised.

"I could already see; it's just that my eyes couldn't handle light. After going to the hospital yesterday, it's all good now," Lin Qiye answered.

The classmates suddenly remembered that Lin Qiye had indeed been absent for a day yesterday, and it suddenly dawned on them.

Amidst the noisy classroom, two people seemed out of place.

Liu Yuan was in the corner, head down, sneaking glances at Lin Qiye, his face incredibly awkward. He clearly remembered that on that day, while busy escaping, he had accidentally bumped into Lin Qiye. After escaping, he thought that Lin Qiye, as a blind person, couldn't escape from the monster. Although he felt guilty for a while, he didn't take it too seriously.

But what surprised him was that the one who died was Jiang Qian, and the one he had the least expectation for—Lin Qiye—actually survived!

Moreover, his eyes were healed!

For a moment, Liu Yuan couldn't quite describe his emotions—was it embarrassment? Guilt? Frustration? Or... regret?

Lin Qiye, although facing away from Liu Yuan, could see the wonderful changes in his expressions through spiritual perception. His eyes gradually narrowed.

At this moment, another person walked up to Lin Qiye.

Li Yifei stood awkwardly beside Lin Qiye's desk, looking a bit embarrassed. Glancing around, he lowered his body and spoke into Lin Qiye's ear:

"Qiye... um, can we talk outside? I have something to say."

Lin Qiye hesitated for a moment and then nodded.
