Mark turned around with far more effort than he wanted before he slowly got to his feet.
Mark was tired and thirsty, and there was a slight darkness invading the edges of his vision to show that he had suffered a concussion, but Mark could tell that the Anima King was no better off.
'He's missing an arm. Serves him fucking right.'
The Anima King had lost its left arm and a significant portion of its left rib was exposed. There was a slight wobble in its step when it tried to take a step forward and Mark felt a grin coming on his face as the Anima King fell to a knee after only taking one step.
The Anima King stayed like this for a short while and Mark used this moment to take in the damage done to his body. His rib was broken. That was the first thing Mark noticed once he felt his internal organs. There was a bone sticking into Mark's left lung, and that was what caused the heavy breathing earlier, but Mark wasn't concerned about that.
