After saying his piece, Mark left the meeting with the President and Generals, but even as he left, he could still hear the groans of frustration from many of the generals in the room when they heard his answer. They obviously were not happy that Mark was going to become something they couldn't control, but Mark didn't care.
Mark sighed as he stood up from the couch in Luna's living room, grabbed his coat and keys, and called on Talia to tell her that he was going to the office. Talia and James were playing together with some of the superhuman maids that wouldn't be hurt by their roughhousing, and Mark gave Talia a kiss on the forehead and ruffled James's hair playfully while the boy protested in embarrassment before he got in his Vanitas Avatendor and drove off to the guild building.
