"What about the cartel lords? Did you manage to catch them? All of them?" Jade inquired, holding her breath while placing a hand over the left side of her chest, feeling her heart might just leap out.
"Yes, there were four of them. Two are dead now. Gunned down during an escape attempt. One is hospitalized, and the last one we've got in custody," informed the person on the other end of the phone call and with a whooshing sigh, Jade's breath released with relief.
"That's fantastic. I'm so relieved that this is almost over," said Jade, joyful, allowing herself to collapse onto the bed. She didn't need to worry anymore or constantly look over her shoulder.
"It's not quite over yet. Stay vigilant. There should have been five of them. One is unaccounted for," he noted, referring to Cassidy.
"Oh yes, that's right. Was he not present at the meeting by any chance?" Jade inquired, feigning ignorance of Cassidy's disappearance.
