Hi everyone. First of all, if you are reading this, I would like to thank you for picking up this silly little story and giving it the chance to shine. I poured my all into it so I deeply appreciate it since I've been wanting to write an extensive fantasy universe for the longest time. Not dealing with just magic but also a society revolved around magical advancements, engineering, world-building, and psychological impacts.
Now, I want to let this be a guideline and a sort of heads up on what to expect before reading.
It is a bit complicated from your usual linear story. It runs on two main characters, each wielding different motivations and personalities. Some characters end up disappearing for good reasons as others stick around for the longest. You should note that everyone won't stay the same nor stay in the MCs' story for long. I don't want to spoil much so onto a little overview of terminology:
Ehert is the fantasy world's word for Earth. Pronounced sort of like "it hurt" but more smoothly to sound like "e hert". And the main characters who don't know about Ehert will distinguish it by called it that and calling their original world "Earth". It makes them sound like aliens on a different planet but it is meant to distinguish their worlds since I did not know any different way to differentiate the two to sound more fantasy.
Ehert also runs on its own language. So there will be a few terms from Ehert natives thrown out there. But worry not, they will be easy to guess based on context. Such as "feienx", which means friend. Their language is based off of smoothness of letters that would sound ragged for first timers. And tone also gives context to its meaning, as we do in real life.
As for animals, there's one called a "musbrat". They are a bat-like creature as large as a barn owl with ears that also serve as little darts of poison. They have no eyes and see through their four wings. And a "Rarbis" is a dog and rabbit mix.
You'll see animals will be different but also similar for a reason.
As for the societies within Ehert, there are five great nations that act sort of as main capitals. One of them is the City of Light which serves as great importance to the main story and they resided somewhere near the desert. And then there's The Blue Oasis, Turnsul, Ruckydursk, and finally the Loner's Ring.
And between all Nations is the Council of Divine Justice, overseen by the Ancient Demon Azalkar.
Obviously there's a lot more regions out of the 5 Great Nations but they're so plenty in size and quite diverse that it shall be explained in more detail in the story.
Anyway, as you read the story of our two main characters, there will be obvious differences on who is who. As Art is obviously a human, confused and alone, prone to making more mistakes and act on humanly instincts. Whereas our other MC is not human. He acts coldly and on to the point with a bit of pain and anger. He is a being of high status, so the two will have knowledge that differ. I'm sure you will notice this.
Oh and another thing of great importance of not obvious by the rating-- some characters may experience and express very, very dark and dangerous thoughts that could trigger those sensitive to it. Topics such as depressing inner monologues, derealization, suicidal ideation, etc. Just a heads up in case I get any complaints.
If you have any questions or want things to be explained more easily throughout the story leave it in the comments of that chapter so I can see. Otherwise, thank you and have fun reading!
