It had been a whole 7 days with no response from the lizard tribes.
Maybe they didn't know where we were located?
No i definitely remember telling them.
Did they seriously decline my offer?!
But they were helpless against that masked terrorist.
My train of thought was broken by Niria shouting my name.
(Master Carkolov where are you!)
(What is it Niria?)
(Its the lizard tribesmen!)
(Really?)
How convenient.
(How many are there?)
(Only 5 including the warrior you mentioned you had seen.)
I ditched my fishing rod onto the wooden planks of the deck which stuck out the side of the cave that i had created for the spiders to take home in.
Running through it made me realise they had really made themselves comfortable inside it, with the walls covered in webbing for them to hammock themselves into for sleeping, and a ginormous silk woven art piece hung at the ceiling like a trampoline somewhat resembling a…
Crab?
Wow.
How thoughtful.
I reached the front gates of the cave and was greeted with, as Niria said, 5 lizard men, 4 green, 1 red, and all 5 scaly with beady side facing eyes.
(Greetings Great Carkolov.)
What's up with the honourable mention?
(Good morning, what would you like to discuss?)
Straight to the point.
I was tired of waiting.
(Our people have been debating about the invitation you had given to us and have come to the conclusion that, if still available, we would come take refuge with you.)
(Of course the offer is still up!)
(I would never turn you guys down!)
(That is a relief, we thought you had given up on our people.)
Although having to wait so long did tick me off a bit, how cruel do these guys think i am?!
(No need to worry, when will all your people be arriving?)
(Give us till the next day...)
The lizard turned rigid and awkward with his head looking at his feet, unable for his gaze to meet mine.
I understand that feeling fully, i hate having to ask anyone for help, especially considering my dad was the only one i asked help from and he always gave me a big lecture on why being independent is the main aspect of being a man... maybe he was right?
I dont really know, and now i really will never know.
Thinking about this makes me wonder if he is still alive back in my old world...
(Master?)
Niria looked at me with a worried face, for a spider she can show emotions quite clearly, i think she might be improving actually.
(Oh uh...)
*Ahem*
(Is there anything else you would like to ask?)
The lizard jolted up, presumably caught off guard by my sudden question.
(Well yes...)
He rubbed the back of his neck and looked at his fellow lizard men.
(We would like to request that you come with us to our village and help us on our route here, we simply dont have the manpower now our chief is gone and i definitely cant protect everyone myself.)
Looking embarrassed with his request, he shrunk smaller as he spoke.
(I dont see any problem with that.)
(So you will do it!)
Their 5 pairs of eyes all gleamed at me with intensity and gratification.
(Yes i will, tomorrow you said right?)
(Yes.)
(Then i will come to your village to bring you here.)
(Nice seeing you.)
(I thank you for all your help.)
(There is no need, anyone would have done it.)
(We will depart back to our people now, goodbye!)
(See ya later!)
...
No one got that?
What did i say wrong?
*A Couple Hours Later*
I spent some time upgrading my house a little bit, including the silk home accessories that i had been wanting for quite some time.
*Plop*
Ahhhhhh
I sunk into the fresh warm silk sheets of my disproportionally large bed, warmed up with my fire mastery skill, although it took a few tries to manage to get my silk threads to attain heat resistance, subsequently leveling it up quite a bit.
Ive made quite a nice life for myself here…
Was i called here for some reason?
Some purpose?
Its not like i've done anything major so far besides save some people.
Maybe it was just chance or luck that my life changed this drastically over the course of a single month…
No matter what reason as to why i've reincarnated…
I will live this life to the fullest.
…
Not a single sound came from anywhere around Carkolov, not even the spiders…
It was eerie, Carkolov couldn't remember the last time he had heard silence since he arrived in this world.
Activating surrounding awareness Carkolov noticed that the spiders were still underneath him but motionless.
(What are you guys up to?)
(Oh Master Carkolov, we didn't know you were awake!)
(You didn't answer my question Niria.)
(Humans.)
That word got me thinking…
Good, bad, who knows?
(30 meters away, 7 people east of our home?)
(Yes Master.)
I should have noticed them sooner, overall there magic prowess wasn't all too high…
(What is with that guys aura?!)
One stood out amongst them all, his aura shining a hot pure gold.
(I've seen a many like this, always having to avoid them.)
(Whys that?)
(They are members of the holy knights.)
Holy…
As in like Gods…
The ones who slay monsters…
Shit.
(What should we do?)
(There is nothing we can do besides stay hidden, the 6 aren't all that strong, they must be low ranked in their faction, but the last one on the other hand is apart of their higher ranks who can wield holy magic that is extremely powerful to monsters.)
Isn't that like too op?
How can they just have a skill that one shots all monsters?
I'm not much of a leader but i did slip up a bit here.
I should have noticed these guys from ages away.
[Ordinary Skill: Surrounding Awareness lvl.6 has levelled up to Ordinary Skill: Surrounding Awareness lvl.8.]
It seared my mind just to look at his aura so i turned off surrounding awareness.
I think we will just have to wait this one out…
There really is nothing we can do.
With all of these experiences so far, i believe i got too comfortable in this life, without realising that this world revolves around…
Survival.
