Chapter4(cream pie)

I woke up in fear and gasped for breath, i felt my heart jump, beads of sweats were lying on my face and collar bone.
I calmed myself with the thought 'its just a nightmare', i looked towards the window and saw gimmers of light peeking throught the curtains, "hell no"i cursed as i checked my phone to see what the time was, it was 7:30am in the morning, there was no way i could have my morning jog and still make it to school early, i can't even make breakfast and lunch, would i have starve today?, i didn't want to take from my savings, i guess I'll just have to starve till school closes or take $15 to buy two cupcakes.
I got ready for school and left the house. I got to school 7:59 and got to class by 8:00, Safe heaven.
"Good Morning class"
"Good morning mrs Ann"
"I told you yesterday we'd have a test today, i hope you're all prepared.....well, either way let's begin the test, jamie pass these sheets to the class"
Jamie distributed the sheets to the entire class and Mrs Ann asked us to begin.
"Don't even think about cheating because y'all will come in front of the classroom to defend yourselves by explaining the answers and if you can't defend what your answers were then your mark woulf be deducted"she explained.
Ten minutes passed and everyone submitted their sheets to Mrs Ann, she marked them and gave them back to us and called out our names to come defend our answers.
"Charlie cooper"she called as all the girls blushed.
He walked to the front of the class and defended his answers.
"Uhh ...thanks?"he finished
"What of the remaining questions?"Mrs Ann asked
"I'm sorry Mrs Ann but I didn't answer them because i had no idea"
"Okay then. Lastly, skye lone"
I walked to the front of the class and began explaining in details.
"Good morning, I'm skye and if i may proceed the first question says here define the skeleton. Skeleton is the bony frame work of the body. The second question says state 3 types of skeleton. Endoskeleton, exoskeleton and hydrostatic skeleton. The third one says define cell. Cell is the structural and functional unit of a living organism. The fourth says state all the life processes. Movement, respiration, nutrition, irritability, growth, excretion, reproduction, competition, adaptation and death. The last question says define manmals. Mammals are animals which give rise to their young ones alive and they possess mamaric gland also known as breasts to suckle their offsprings. Thank you"i said as everyone clapped for me including Gold and charlie but it was obvious some of the girls were reluctant to clap but i didn't care. I walked to my seat with a smiley face. Finally they all started to like me.
I sat quietly as Mrs Ann clapped for me also.
"Wow, I'm impressed, you still remembered these topics since last grade, wow I'm blown away, you should be every student's role model, I'm making you the new SAST(students after school tutor), you're way intelligent than camelia, you always stay in the shadows and I won't allow that anymore"she said
"You don't have to ma'am, I don't attend the SASG(students after school gathering)"
"Why not?"
"I- I can't a-afford it"
"Awwn, try gathering some money hunny, or try talking to rose, she's the president, she might let you get in for free with that intellect of yours"
"Okay ma'am, thanks"
"Well, its time for mathematics, I'll get your teacher"
The maths class was boring as fuck, charlie even fell asleep along the line. We had science after maths then it was time for lunch.
I went to the cafeteria and bought 2 cupcakes since they were the only edibles i could get for $15. I sat in an empty table and before i knew it Charlie came to sit with me.
"Uh....hey"he said. I blushed at the sound of his deep voice.
"Hi"i said in a shy manner as i averted my eyes from his ocean blue ones before i drown in them,
"You were amazing in there, you know?"
"Thanks, and thanks for saving my life yesterday"i blushed,
"It's nothing, uhh.... You know i could pay you to teach me at my place sometime"
"Really? But you don't have to pay"
"I'm paying you skye, so you could atleast pay for SASG"he said, i was embarrassed at that statement 'atleast pay'
"T-Thanks charlie"i managed to say
"You seem not comfortable with me around, I'll just leave, i guess"
"No don't, it's fine"i said. Oh hell no, did i just beg for his attention, did i just beg a guy to stay. i was so nervous, i hope it wasn't obvious to him though. I took a bite from my last cupcake to atleast hide my nervousness a little.
"Okay, but why just a cupcake though"
"Actually it's two but i devoured one- hehe"
"One, two"he counted with his long fingers "Still the same, you could share my pie if you want to"he addes
"Really?"
"Sure, dig in"he said as i took a slice of his pie and started devouring it.
"So where's your house at?"i asked
"7 Santa Claus road, weird name right?"
"Yeah, i live there too but i live in 16"
"Damn, wanna hang out today 3pm?"
"Oh, I'm sorry, I can't, maybe on Sunday after church, 2pm. i have an afternoon shift at da pitsa today, well i guess you know already"
"Yeah, by the way sorry about what layla said to you"
"It's fine, I'm used to it..... speaking of layla, she's heading towards us, you should go talk to her, see you 4:30pm today"
"Sure" he said as he left to speak with layla
I watched if anyone was staring at me but luckily noone was so i had a free hand to blushed.
School closed for that sunny friday, i was about to set out for home when the principal, Mrs katie announced that Monday would be parents day. We should bring our parents to school with us, i felt my heart become sink, i walked out the school not interested in whatever Mrs katie had to say anymore. I felt someone tap me on my shoulders, i turned back to see who it was.
"Gold?"
"Yeah skye, I'm sorry about what i did to you yesterday"
"No it's fine, I'm over it"
"Plus you performed well in class today, could i come to your house for you to teach me like right now and everyday"
"I don't know maybe i can do it now because i gotta make myself lunch and I'll have to shower, I don't wanna keep you waiting"
"It's cool with me skye, maybe just thirty minutes each day is enough, i understand you need time for yourself"
"Yeah I'll see maybe i can squeeze you in my schedule but one hour each day is fine, thirty is too little, well then you can go home and do some things before coming over. 16 Santa Claus road"
"I've got nothing to do, I'd rather come with you"he said as i shrugged and gave in. Luckily I didn't take my bike that day because i missed my morning jog so we walked to my place of abode together. He kept talking about how amazing i was in class and how everyone in the class told all the students about my intellect during lunch.
We got to my crib, i turned on the tv for him to watch.
"The remote is on the shelf, you could watch anything you like, this is 1pm, I'll cook for about fourty minutes but allow me go take a shower first and take off these clothes"i said.
"Okay then and your house is nice by the way"
"Aww, that's so sweet Gold, Thanks"i said as i went to take a shower.
I finished bathing, i tied my hair up in the usual messy bun i did when i was home. I decided to bake a pie as i remembered how charlie and I shared his sweet cream pie. I walked to the kitchen and started baking the pie.
When i was done baking it, i placed two plates on the kitchen island and put two slices of pie on each plate and kept the remaining spices for later. I got some juice from the fridge and poured it into two glasses. I placed the glasses of juice and plates of pie in a tray and took it to the living room.
"Well, i made a cream pie so there is more than enough for the both of us"
"Has it come to this?"
"What?"
"You trying to poison me because i bullied you and hurt you, I'm a changed person now skye and i regret my actions"
"Come on Gold, i wouldn't gain anything by poisoning you, just have some pie"
"You didn't have to Skye, you're just so nice"
"Nahhh, just have some pie anyways"i said as as he picked his fork and tasted the pie.
"Woah, this is good skye"
"Thanks"i said.
We finished eating and got to the teaching. He was a good listener which made the both of us a great match for a tutor and student. I finished teaching him and he left. I was completely exhausted yet i still had work to do at da pitsa and Charlie's house. I went to change my clothes and set out for da pitsa.
After my stressful shift at da pitsa i went to charlie house and finally got back home. I was exhausted but the money was worth it, i was paid $1,950 at da pitsa and charlie paid me $4,000. It was quite nice yet tiring to be hardworking.
I read my books, went on the socials, eat the rest of the cream pie and hit the bed.
