Chapter 19 - The Slap

Emily's voice was loud and clear. To the point that the door opened and Jaxon stood behind.

Great, father must have called all sides of the family.

At first I was shocked to see Emily, she was a distant cousin that likes to put herself into anywhere that had the most connections. Her family wasn't that relevant, she was my father's last brother's daughter.

Emily's father was dead, it was just her mother who was sent to a rehabilitation center for excessive use of cannabis. Emily was smart enough to join hands with Aurora.

In high school they made sure to bully me until I almost dropped out.

Then she made me grovel and work like crazy as Aurora's assistant before I got a job in my own mother's company.

Emily was as awful as Aurora. But unlike Aurora, Emily never hid how shameless she can be.

Ignoring Jaxon I turned back to Emily, my fingers were eating into my palm as I stared at Emily's arrogant face. One that I wanted to punch so bad, but would probably get beaten as Emily was a two times winner of a karate competition.

"Are you done?"

"No."

I was trying my best to hold back my anger, but it was slipping. The Waldorf family was as strong as the Steele family, both too high to reach.

Where the Steele and Waldorf family was the two richest families in the nation, the Starks were number 150 in terms of networth but with their ego, I am sure they would make it to number 1.

"I am warning you, stay away from Zayn. If not, do not blame me for standing up for my best friend and letting you live a miserable life."

I scoffed.

"Since I knew you Emily, when have I ever had a good life? Haven't you had enough? What else do you want? Do you want me to die? If so look at me standing right before you. Kill me. Just kill me and let's get this over with," step by step, I approached Emily.

She looked stunned. I had never raised my voice at her before, this was the first time. It was good to see the shock in her eyes, to see her shiver from the coldness that was emitting from my body.

To make them feel that fear that they had put into my heart and body.

"You bitch!"

"You probably should find another insult in your vocabulary, Emily." I replied looking down at my manicured red nails, "What right do you think you have against me? My mother a whore? You forget that the Steele family had to literally beg the Waldorf to let my mother marry their son. And after grandpa and grandma died, you guys made sure to ruin me and my mother. I left this house three years ago, I left the university you and Aurora go to, I gave you my birth right for both companies. What else do you want, Emily? I must let you know that I am no longer the same girl you can step on. I can date who I want, I can fuck who I want, and it's none and will never be any of your business."

I crossed my arms against my chest as I stood before her, standing tall, towering over her short height.

"You will not let me live a good life right? Then go ahead, call those men in the mafia you called back then. Have them inject me, whip me, beat me, rape me like you have always wanted. Do it Emily, do it before it's too late. Hurt me…make me feel pain…"

Slap!

As my face shifted from the impact, I could feel a sharp pain as a piece of my gum collided with my teeth, drawing blood.

"You survived didn't you? That mysterious stranger saved you didn't he? So why are you bringing up something that happened five years ago huh? Did you forget I am older than you?" she asked in a lower voice, barely audible.

But I didn't care, I was seeing red.

"Did you…just slap me?"

"What's going on here?!"
