Chapter 16 - Weird Shaolin

Administrator Zhang Sanfeng initiated the group live broadcast. Several individuals from Meng Chuan promptly tuned in, and a floating panel materialized before Meng Chuan. It marked Meng Chuan's first foray into viewing others' live broadcasts, a function activated just the day before.

Present on the panel was a tall, not overly robust, resilient elderly man with a snow-white mane, a cherubic countenance, a radiant spirit, and an amiable disposition. Clad in a Tai Chi Taoist robe, the more one gazed, the more it evoked a fairy-like ambiance.

Zhang Sanfeng's presence and the camaraderie were not alien to Meng Chuan; each of the five individuals shared a destiny, and the remaining four had delved into it.

The initiator of the group live broadcast had the ability to convey thoughts, audible to the group members. Meng Chuan had resorted to text the day before due to the desire for privacy within the crowd, where vocal communication was not feasible. Zhang Sanfeng, however, was exempt from such constraints.

Should Zhang Sanfeng communicate directly, it could lead Wudang's disciples to question his sanity.

Meng Qi remarked, "The real person is aged yet formidable."

A barrage of comments flickered before Zhang Sanfeng's eyes, yet the commentator's tone left him bemused.

Zhang Sanfeng responded, "Xiaomeng, are you praising me or casting shadows? I find it challenging to discern..."

Meng Chuan laughed, "Hahahaha, Xiao Meng is undoubtedly praising you—the paramount figure in today's real-life celebration!"

Meng Chuan continued, "Zhang Zhenren, at a century old, here's to your joyous celebration!"

Koichi concurred, "I won't lag behind; best wishes, real person."

Yuan Dagu added, "Same here!"

Zhang Sanfeng graciously acknowledged, "Thank you all; anticipate a delightful treat!"

Meng Chuan queried, "Must we perform an activity to partake in the feast?"

Just as Zhang Sanfeng interacted within the group, Yu Daiyan approached and saluted.

"Master, Wudang's centennial celebration is approaching. Shall I arrange a meeting?" Yu Daiyan inquired.

Yu Daiyan, having made significant strides since resuming activity, busied himself in Wudang. He avoided idleness, stating that having sat for a decade, he found it challenging to remain still.

Noteworthy was Yu Daiyan's relationship with Yin Susu. While they reconciled privately, Yu Daiyan maintained a stoic demeanor towards Yin Susu, refraining from addressing her as a sibling.

Yin Susu apprised Zhang Cuishan of the past events, ensuring he understood Yu Daiyan's disposition. Despite Yin Susu's formidable presence in the Demon Cult, her love for Zhang Cuishan was apparent.

Post-revelation, Zhang Cuishan, overcome with guilt, knelt before Yu Daiyan, tearfully repenting. The revelation that his comrades' paralysis was linked to his beloved deepened his remorse.

Following resolution, the rapport between Yu Daiyan and Yin Susu improved. Though not overtly familial, they ceased regarding each other with cold detachment.

"Welcome? What do you mean by 'meeting'? Assign a few junior disciples; you're in an opportune position. Stay put and have your six apprentice brothers attend to you. No need to venture out!" Zhang Sanfeng asserted, dismissing the idea.

"Master, is this not somewhat inconvenient?" Yu Daiyan expressed surprise, considering the impending presence of Emei.

"Courtesy is unnecessary!" Zhang Sanfeng retorted sharply. "If their birthday wishes are sincere, they'll understand. Besides..."

Yu Daiyan remained puzzled as Zhang Sanfeng abruptly scolded, "How much courtesy is excessive? These individuals may have ulterior motives under the guise of birthday celebrations. Wudang still harbors ghosts like Xie Xun and Tu Longdao."

"You have keen insights," Zhang Sanfeng acknowledged, nodding at Yu Daiyan.

"Outrageous! They plan to attack my fifth brother during Master's centennial banquet!" Yu Daiyan exclaimed indignantly, seeing this as an affront to both Zhang Cuishan and Wudang.

Zhang Sanfeng, treating Yu Daiyan as both father and brother, patted his shoulder, offering a cryptic gaze.

"No need for all seven of you to intervene," Zhang Sanfeng hinted mysteriously.

"What? Is it not a challenge from the major factions?" Yu Daiyan inquired.

Zhang Sanfeng smiled enigmatically, withholding further explanation.

After a while, representatives from various factions gathered at Wudang Mountain. With the exception of Emei and Shaolin, the birthday offerings from other factions seemed perfunctory, lacking valuable medicinal items and featuring mostly peach-shaped buns purchased from the nearby town.

Emei, however, presented a hundred longevity-embroidered robes as a thoughtful gift. These garments were adorned with carefully embroidered characters, symbolizing sincerity. Master Jingxuan and a few disciples represented Emei.

Observing the gifts, Zhang Sanfeng noted Emei's conduct in his mental records.

Shaolin, surprisingly, deviated from the original plot in their gift choices. Instead of precious medicinal materials and sharp weapons, they handed over virtuous legacies to Wudang's little Taoist boy, keeping a considerable distance from other factions.

Zhang Sanfeng, scanning the barrage of comments, acknowledged Emei's actions and questioned Shaolin's peculiar behavior.

It appeared that the real person had dismantled the King Kong Gate before him, suggesting a connection between Shaolin and the King Kong Gate.

Intrigued, the onlookers speculated about Shaolin's motives, suspecting a hidden agenda.
